The Mushroom Cloud gradually descended, revealing a group of world elites. They had indeed been trained, each one a management talent cultivated by the Hope Group in the Post-Apocalypse. Every individual had even used Essence, with most having only B-Rank Essence, yet it was sufficient to ensure that none of them perished during the initial hardships.
Now, each person's physical condition was exceptionally good; however, they still could not utilize much Superpower. They could only sense their enhanced physical capabilities and a strange power within them, but these powers remained untapped.
This was because they had not yet entered the Apocalyptic World and had not truly integrated with Vital Energy. This also explained why Superpowered Individuals from the Hope Group were not widespread. Wang Fatty was an exception, having used S-Class Essence, a power that transcended all others. The strength of Essence was enough to grant them the most basic form of Superpower.
It was similar for Berry and his closest companions, all of whom had utilized S-Class Essence. Zheng Yifan possessed many such resources; however, they could not benefit the masses.
Gradually descending were those future management talents.
They would manage the Survivors overseas. For the domestic front, Zheng Yifan would continue to employ people from his own country but needed a new system—one that would uplift everyone and promote collective development.
Previously, there were too many constraints domestically. Now, Zheng Yifan could guarantee that he must adopt the best developmental strategies and directions that would benefit everyone’s future.
As they continued to descend, the first person landed—a distinctly Western man with neatly trimmed facial hair and a serious expression. He appeared to be quite an authoritative figure.
Just as he was about to touch down, Zheng Yifan gently rotated his right hand, and a deafening sound of motorized red flares erupted.
It seemed that even the nearly desolate New District could hear this sound; it was incredibly intense.
The stiff man in mid-air naturally noticed Zheng Yifan and clearly saw a red Signal flare being fired.
This was everything he had prepared. His Storage Space contained many items—chaotic yet organized—but this Signal flare had been ready for some time.
Upon seeing it, the stiff man instinctively controlled his parachute to glide toward this location, gradually approaching.
Although these individuals were not particularly skilled at this, after a period of training and with the weather being fine and calm, they easily landed a few meters in front of Zheng Yifan.
The man, who was meticulous about everything, looked at the young Boss before him. It was still unbelievable; this was the largest surprise he had ever encountered in his life. Before coming here, each of them had a series of photos of the Boss and could recognize him without a doubt.
It was this young Chinese guy who owned the largest conglomerate in the world. He might even shape the future of the entire globe.
They were core personnel in reserve. They had already passed loyalty tests, and more importantly, although there might be spies among them, it no longer mattered. With the world having turned out this way, disloyalty to Hope Group equated to self-destruction.
They were not fools; of course, they would choose Hope Group.
When the gap in strength between both sides is too great, the choice becomes simple.
"Congratulations on being the first to land safely!" Zheng Yifan walked over and gave him a light hug. Then he looked at the finely crafted stab-resistant suit and complete set of gear, all standard issue from Hope Group, making him look like a warrior from a science fiction story.
Zheng Yifan was very pleased. He looked cool enough to impress those inexperienced youngsters.
"Thank you for the compliment, Boss." He simply replied and then lowered his head, standing behind Zheng Yifan as he awaited the arrival of the next partner.
They were divided into teams of ten for combat training. While others might have interactions in competitive aspects, the strongest bonds were always within their own team. In other words, this group of ten formed a tight-knit circle of interests. They would support each other and move forward together.
Hope Group did not shy away from unity among its members but opposed cliques forming. Therefore, they allowed individual groups—dozens or even hundreds—but absolutely forbade any large collective. Such situations could become troublesome.
With the first person down, the second quickly followed. With Zheng Yifan's signal flare, everyone gathered towards this point. The red smoke from the signal continuously floated in the air, providing everyone with a coordinate. They descended slowly according to their levels; if two people were nearby, they would yield to each other to maintain a distance of over a hundred meters.
After all, it would be much easier to search for each other once they landed.
"Whoosh!" Suddenly, a gentle breeze swept through. Zheng Yifan saw more than a dozen people being blown across the Green River to the opposite shore. That was Goryeo. Zheng Yifan had intended to wait a while longer before taking them out; he had never been one to leave any room for this small, jumpy nation. He decided to crush them with all his might, scattering the entire country's Management Team and liberating the civilians suffering in dire conditions—this was what Zheng Yifan truly wished to do.
"Tap, tap, tap!" Soon, the alarm from the watchtower rang out. To his surprise, there were still people guarding this tiny territory; he hadn't expected such loyal soldiers in such a diminutive nation.
However, Zheng Yifan did not see this as a good thing. He had already received news from Eve that thousands of soldiers from this country were preparing to cross the River Bridge and invade.
With a small population and vast land, more importantly, they possessed an enormous amount of light weapons. Unable to produce heavy weaponry themselves, they frantically manufactured light arms to intimidate Huaxia, like a persistent threat trying to extort food from their old neighbor and former master.
Every year, a significant amount of relief funds was poured into their nation, and now they audaciously sought even more.
As the apocalypse descended, they still dared to invade Huaxia. It was as if they had swallowed a bear's heart and leopard's gall.
There were three Green River Bridges in total; during wartime, the main one had been destroyed, while the other two were built later.
Now, on the bridge closest to the New District, the figures of those soldiers gradually came into view.
Eve had not been monitoring them closely; she had never focused on surveillance of this country because it was too barren. Even military structures were underground. (To be continued)
