When the two Zombies charged forward, they showed no hesitation in opening fire. It was decisive and swift, delivering the quickest death possible to the two creatures.
As for the girl in front, they already had a new solution. In the face of the apocalypse, not everyone could be guaranteed to remain normal. This girl was clearly insane, and her condition seemed severe; she might even be suffering from delusions and needed to be sent for treatment.
After a few soldiers bound her with simple ropes, one of them took her out to the street to request support. A specialized Medical Helicopter would come to transport her.
They still had to continue fighting. The Zombies were not yet dealt with, and this girl was neither the first nor the last person to lose their sanity.
The crowd was enormous, with about 1% likely affected, and considering those who had gone mad and subsequently died, the numbers could be staggering. Not everyone had the heart to withstand the trials of the apocalypse.
They continued to clear the area, and at that moment, Zheng Yifan received notification that another person had gone insane.
How many was this now? The Hope Group currently had thousands of mad individuals on their hands, most of whom had been driven insane by the apocalypse. Zheng Yifan had no solutions; he could only seek help from Berry.
But just then, Eve finally appeared. She offered Zheng Yifan a brilliant idea.
Since they were all mad, why not establish a Mad Island? They could send all the insane people there. Due to their extreme fear of Zombies, they would have minimal requirements for survival; they would live normally and eat, but there wouldn't be many people to take care of them.
No one from the Hope Group would look after them. They would have to fend for themselves, and providing enough food would be considered a humane gesture.
In this apocalypse, no one could escape this rule.
Humanity must fight for survival.
"Select and arrange it as soon as possible; ideally, it should have living conditions," Zheng Yifan said to Eve.
Having Eve choose made things much easier.
"The location will be Xisha Tourist Area on Toto Island." Eve then handed Zheng Yifan a map. It clearly showed the entire terrain of Toto Island. Upon closer inspection, he noted that it used to be a tourist area with relatively few visitors; now it seemed quite suitable for housing those with mental illnesses.
Without hesitation, Zheng Yifan agreed with Eve's choice.
As soon as Zheng Yifan agreed, orders were already being issued. The officers below would naturally take responsibility for transporting these mad individuals to Mad Island.
Zheng Yifan continued to follow the warriors at the forefront, gradually moving closer to the central area of Shengjing.
His friends had already reached Australia, and none of them had turned into zombies. They were all living ordinary lives alongside their parents.
They were just regular people. In this apocalyptic environment, it was foolish to expect them to be capable of extraordinary feats.
Zheng Yifan himself had never harbored such hopes; he needed to rely on those who were more talented.
Like Berry. And then there was the refined man in his thirties standing beside him.
Dressed in a formal suit and polished shoes, he appeared quite composed, yet his face betrayed a hint of nervousness.
In Wall Street, he was considered a big player in finance. But now, it was impossible for him to maintain his calm.
He had no idea what kind of immense power Hope Group possessed, but now he understood—it was terrifying.
They had absolute military strength, lethal capabilities, and unparalleled control. Their forces numbered in the millions, and their weaponry was unmatched across the globe.
More importantly, while people did die on Wall Street, those deaths were part of business competition and often came with warnings. The feeling of being accompanied by a tiger was something they could never truly comprehend since they lacked such power.
In reality, even the National President did not wield as much authority as this young man before him, who was barely out of his teens.
"Su Hao! I believe you understand my point. The global financial system needs to be rebuilt; we must prepare for war with all our might. We can be called into battle at any moment—the fight between humanity and zombies has not yet begun. We have little time to prepare," Zheng Yifan said heavily.
Su Hao felt a dryness in his mouth. He had just watched that video yesterday, initially thinking it was just another Hollywood blockbuster. But as he watched further, it became clear that it was real—completely real—because no Hollywood production could achieve what he saw: an actual nuclear explosion.
It was absolute reality, not a simulation. More importantly, he had witnessed those true superpowered individuals and the scene before him with this young man.
Countless glowing human forms surged from this young man's body, taking down zombies that were once stronger than superheroes. Then the weapon in his hand unleashed devastating power.
Su Hao found himself at a loss for words.
The missile flew out, effortlessly sliced apart by the zombies, and then this young man shot the massive creature, towering several meters high, pinning it to the ground.
He absolutely believed in Zheng Yifan's video.
He was filled with shock.
"Boss, constructing a financial system for billions, even hundreds of billions of people is incredibly difficult. The development of a single country takes centuries." Su Hao truly lacked confidence; he knew that the American economic system took over a hundred years to build and was established through countless coincidences to become the strongest nation in the world.
But now? Zheng Yifan wanted him to create this system in just a few months, or even within a month. It felt like his head was about to explode.
"You just need to take the lead, provide people where needed, and resources where necessary. You must ensure social stability and market prosperity, and try to resolve all issues. If there are any problems, they must be raised in advance for future resolution."
"This is not a request; it's an order. You know that what I want to accomplish cannot be stopped by anyone in this world." Zheng Yifan's words were chilling.
Su Hao felt as if everything about him had been frozen, entering an absolute zero state.
"The entire world is at war now; everything has been pushed to the brink. There’s no need for so many problems; we just need to build slowly, like in a construction game, creating everything step by step." Zheng Yifan's calm words allowed Su Hao's mood to settle slightly.
He had long understood Zheng Yifan's intentions; most of the goals were aimed at dismantling this seemingly impossible task. But now, he found himself cornered with no way out. (To be continued...)
