The factory assembly line was in full operation, yet Zheng Yifan felt utterly out of place. The High-Density Lithium Battery production line spanned over a dozen workshops, processing raw materials into finished products without the need for transportation; everything was formed in a single continuous flow.
In the end, even the packaging was taken care of. The packaging design adopted a Post-Apocalypse aesthetic, merely adjusted through a Computer to include the Emblem, serial numbers, and dates.
Walking down the assembly line evoked a deep sense of reflection. It was true that technology is the primary productive force; there was no doubt about it. The factory employed no more than a hundred workers, each responsible for operating various equipment, overseeing operations, monitoring processes, and conducting quality inspections. The entire assembly line operated with remarkable ease.
Everything was controlled by Computers; no one had much to do.
Perhaps the most technically demanding roles were those of the maintenance and repair personnel. These individuals were truly the treasures of the factory.
As for everyone else, they were merely administrative Administrators. Ironically, there were now more Administrators than actual workers, which was quite an adjustment for Zheng Yifan.
However, there was no choice; the entire factory lacked a complete sales channel and had no means to distribute products. They didn’t even have a clear target for usage; they were all support staff—potentially useful in the future, but currently unable to engage in real work.
They could only wait for other factories to start operations.
Most importantly, the Automobile Factory would undoubtedly be the first to commence work since Zheng Yifan owned his own Automobile Factory. The cars produced utilized post-apocalyptic technology, originally made from refurbished old parts but now entirely manufactured anew.
Of course, refurbished vehicles remained the mainstream option.
Australia's market consisted entirely of refurbished cars. As for gasoline vehicles, they had been completely phased out. With gasoline no longer available for purchase, what use was there for gasoline cars?
All discarded items had been sent to landfills, awaiting the successful construction of a new Waste Processing Center.
That was Zheng Yifan's next goal and an enterprise that needed to commence promptly.
In the Apocalyptic World, Waste Processing Centers were undeniably high-tech; the entire facility could almost be considered a large-scale factory. All waste could be dumped in without sorting; once inside, the processing center would automatically categorize it. Then, through chemical methods, these materials would be decomposed and processed into dozens of different recyclable substances.
Most of it is to be used as fertilizer, either spread back onto the land or dumped directly into the sea, without any pollution. It is purely nutrient-rich. Another portion becomes raw materials for plastic. More commonly, it consists of various metal mixtures.
These mixtures need to be sent to downstream factories for processing. The different materials are separated and then transformed back into raw materials.
The Waste Treatment Plant in the Apocalyptic World is a highly profitable and technically advanced enterprise. It is definitely not something that ordinary people can easily engage with.
Zheng Yifan's resource reserves and talent pool are quite limited, and he will need to work harder in the future.
After wandering around the entire factory for about two hours, he felt relatively satisfied. In the final workshop, he could see the finished products.
When the first box of finished products came out, Zheng Yifan's face turned red. This was truly the first time in the real world that raw materials had been processed into products. Although the entire process was almost entirely automated, reaching this stage was already a milestone.
A Plastic Box containing a High-Density Lithium Battery. Its model is essentially that of an AA Battery, but its power capacity is astonishing—each one has tens of thousands of milliamp-hours and is both safe and stable.
This is the actual power capacity, with charging cycles guaranteed for five years of unlimited recharges, ensuring safe usage.
"Boss! The equipment shows that all testing indicators are normal and meet the quality requirements." A staff member from the Testing Workshop walked out of the room, his face filled with excitement.
"Keep working. If you can finish ahead of schedule, each of you will receive a bonus." The Factory Director looked at his product rolling off the line with a face full of excitement.
To them, Zheng Yifan now held the identity of a Commissioner, merely observing how the factory operated while the testing personnel were another group from Hope Group.
He needed to accompany those individuals, while Zheng Yifan, according to orders from above, was not required to intervene; he was considered an expert in equipment operations.
A few people chatted happily as they walked along, and Zheng Yifan did not feel out of place; he quietly observed each battery. The batteries appeared to be manufactured exceptionally well, and he could clearly sense their superior quality. Unlike the batteries used before, those from the apocalypse had plastic casings that were remarkably sturdy beyond imagination.
No one knew exactly how it was researched in the apocalypse.
Zheng Yifan casually took out a flashlight used in the apocalypse from the Storage Space and installed a battery into it.
In an instant, the indicator light showed that it was ready for use.
Then, when Zheng Yifan pressed the switch of the flashlight, it emitted a strong beam of light.
Gradually, he lowered the brightness using the control button.
The brightness of the flashlight was very stable, and the beam of light was clearly visible even in daylight.
It was evident that the light from the flashlight was more intense than natural light.
Moreover, it was clear that the battery was functional without any obstacles.
As long as it could be successfully produced, he would be satisfied.
As for the celebratory drinks of others, he had no mood to join. While everyone else was still in high spirits, Zheng Yifan quietly left the factory.
"Hey! Where did that technician go? Did anyone see him? Call him to join us for the celebration!" The Factory Director realized a few minutes later that they had neglected the technician.
Unfortunately, no matter how hard he searched, he would never find Zheng Yifan again.
At this moment, Zheng Yifan was in the factory yard, carefully observing his surroundings.
A sense of foreboding surged within him, as if something capable of causing harm was gradually closing in.
It felt akin to encountering a ferocious beast or facing death itself.
Perhaps this was the kind of dread one only experienced when confronting a Sixth Tier Zombie, particularly the terrifying Mantis Zombie.
But this was the real world, not an Apocalyptic World. Here, Zombies were only First Level, all of them weaklings. Even the occasional Second and Third Tier Zombies were insignificant.
Yet now, that feeling had begun to intensify.
The air seemed to be shrouded in a blanket of deathly shadows. He lifted his head, scrutinizing the sky above.
Suddenly, a loud siren blared throughout the city; it was Ancheng's alarm. He then saw over a dozen Interception Missiles appear in the sky. These were missiles stored by Ancheng's defense forces.
At that moment, they were actively being launched for interception.
Was someone trying to fire missiles to eliminate him or destroy Ancheng?
Most importantly, Zheng Yifan's intuition told him that someone had indeed launched a nuclear missile. (To be continued.)
