Gan Jiang!
Just a name can drive people crazy. The Ten Ancient Divine Artifacts, that is a sword that has only appeared in legends. People today are not like they used to be; although many ancient items are worthless, in ancient times, there truly existed the first generation of Superpowered Individuals. The weapons they crafted, though relatively crude, had their share of formidable pieces, such as Gan Jiang.
That was a weapon forged by Ou Yezi's disciple, possessing immense power.
Although the ordinary-looking blue copper sword he took out did not seem remarkable at first glance, the actual feeling it exuded was as if the sword was hiding its edge.
There was no killing intent, yet everyone knew this was a valuable item.
Unfortunately, it did not have a worthy master.
“Li Ning, how about I buy this weapon for you? Your Psychic Weapon may look impressive, but compared to truly exceptional weapons, it still falls short, like my Silver Spear and Adamantium Shield,” Zheng Yifan said to Li Ning beside him.
Li Ning's eyes were nearly bulging out. From the moment that sword appeared, his heart began to race wildly. He felt an urge within him, compelling him to obtain this sword—it was exactly what he needed; he had to get it into his hands quickly.
It was a calling, a Superpower calling out to him.
“Thank you, Leader!” A simple phrase spoken lightly, seemingly devoid of emotion, yet its underlying meaning was profoundly significant.
A thousand words were merely Flattery. Doing his job well beside Zheng Yifan was the greatest repayment he could offer.
“Then keep an eye on it!” Zheng Yifan said with a smile to Li Ning, slowly walking forward.
That was where the man stood.
Everyone was watching him with bated breath. Fortunately, this was the Wilderness Gathering Place, a location highly regarded by Hope Gathering Place. Otherwise, he wouldn't have dared to bring these items out at all.
Now that Zheng Yifan approached, the meaning was crystal clear; other gamblers simply could not afford such things.
The price would definitely be over one hundred thousand and likely even more expensive.
The Administrator and Financial Assessor of the casino had already arrived.
They were there to evaluate the Ganjiang Divine Sword, as there were too many fakes of ancient artifacts. Countless replicas and forgeries existed for the same item.
There were so many of these that they could not fully understand the true nature of the object.
More importantly, they could not damage the client's possessions. This meant they could not verify whether it truly possessed any offensive capabilities.
This was the most frustrating part. If it could be used, then according to the weapon quality from the First Vitality Era, it should not be easily damaged by them. However, if they could not test it in that way, they had to rely on scientific methods.
This approach was significantly weaker. At the very least, ordinary carbon dating would be useless; with so many Superpowered Individuals around, what was needed was a Psychic Weapon, not a toy.
Before those experts arrived, Zheng Yifan walked over to the Fellow who intended to pawn the divine sword.
"I'll buy this sword outright for ten million New Hope Currency. No pawning," Zheng Yifan stated firmly, showcasing a portion of his strength. The pressure emanating from him was subtle but unmistakable—he was a Fifth-Level Powerhouse, among the top tier in the Hope Gathering Place.
The Fellow looking to pawn the divine sword appeared shifty; as he drew closer, a faint earthy smell became apparent.
It was clear without asking that this Fellow was a Grave Robber, or Tomb Raider for short.
However, tombs in this post-apocalyptic world were not easy to plunder; they were filled with numerous insects that had been nourished by Vital Energy during the apocalypse. Coupled with ancient formations created by Superpowered Individuals using their powers, these tombs had become even more dangerous after the apocalypse began.
The fact that he managed to steal this sword was purely due to sheer luck.
"Five hundred thousand?" The man looking to pawn the sword was utterly astonished. He never expected that this Fellow across from him would be so wealthy.
That was five hundred thousand—enough to buy food equivalent to a mountain's worth back home. It could purchase half a street's worth of houses. Entering the Hope Gathering Place with such purchasing power was quite significant.
For just this one sword, the person across from him had offered such a high price; what was even more important was...
He hadn't even checked the goods.
That was the most important thing.
After pondering for a moment, he stammered, "Sir, I would like to have the casino staff check it first to confirm its quality. At the very least, we shouldn't let you suffer any losses."
He found an excuse to keep the casino personnel nearby.
Mainly, he was afraid that Zheng Yifan might suddenly snatch it away. If this item was truly worth that much, there would definitely be someone willing to fight for it.
The security here was good, but who could prevent the fellow across from him from being a madman? Someone who had nothing to lose. There was no way to defend against that.
"Of course," Zheng Yifan replied just as the casino's experts arrived.
The price had already soared so high, and it might be an ancient Psychic Weapon; all the experts were eager to take a look. Therefore, many people had gathered.
They had even started practicing with the highest leaders of the casino. After all, such a weapon was priced so high that it could potentially buy one-third of their casino's shares.
It's worth noting that the total value of the casino was only around one or two million. The most challenging part was actually the verification process.
"No matter what, we cannot offer ten thousand for this weapon." Before the experts could even begin their assessment, the supervisor had already responded.
He knew his boss's financial situation; they couldn't come up with that much money. The casino still owed over a million to Hope Gathering Place. That was why they had acquired this casino in the first place.
Meanwhile, the man stared at Zheng Yifan with bloodshot eyes and then looked at the sword in his hand.
His hands trembled slightly, not daring to touch it.
This was simply a hot potato; he knew that regardless of its authenticity, this sword wouldn't stay with them. All because of a single statement from the casino supervisor.
The other party's bid was so high that there was no possibility of backing out in this environment, as every word spoken in the casino was monitored to prevent anyone from playing tricks.
Most importantly, the other party's strength was formidable; they had no way to resist.
"Are you sure you want to spend this much money? You won't try to snatch my sword, will you?" The man clearly seemed uncertain.
Zheng Yifan smiled.
"I can pay upfront; you can deliver it after confirming receipt." Zheng Yifan proposed the simplest transaction method.
He wasn't afraid of the other party backing out.
The people in the casino had begun to quiet down; they wanted to witness what would be the largest transaction they had ever seen. This was a price of five hundred thousand. Enough to order a pretty impressive Psychic Weapon at Hope Gathering Place, with some left over.
"Alright! Let's transfer the ownership now!" The man’s face flushed, nearly going mad with excitement.
He was one of the few true Rich Tycoons in the casino. While Tomb Raiders often embarrassed themselves, those who made the most during the apocalypse were people like him, as they frequently had very good returns.
But now?
His assets could multiply by dozens of times. (To be continued.)
