"I'm sorry, I really don't know, and I don't recognize any of you," I admitted.
It was true that I didn't know them. Just like when I first met Song Zichen, I could only guess their identities based on some superficial features.
Since the original work was a text novel, there were slight discrepancies in character depictions across various media—be it animation, comics, radio drama illustrations, theater adaptations, or merchandise. Each medium presented a somewhat different version of the characters.
At first, I was curious about which version would appear in this world. However, perhaps due to the transition from two dimensions to three, the person before me gave off a subtly familiar vibe at first glance, yet did not quite match the versions in my memory.
Thus, regardless of who they were, they felt entirely unfamiliar to me, making it difficult to easily connect with the emotions I had while experiencing the original work.
The only consolation was that their looks remained stunning; each one was a handsome man who could dazzle anyone with just a glance!
"What? Not recognizing us is one thing, but you don’t even know Mr. Han Guang? You must be joking!" exclaimed the boy in white with surprise.
"Anyway, Xuan has been wanting to meet you for a while now, and he finally got his wish, so he couldn't help but get overly excited," I said, ignoring the boy's incredulous reaction and addressing Wei Wuxian directly.
"You want to see me?" Wei Wuxian continued clinging to Lan Zhan, looking at Xuan with confusion. "Why?"
"Eh?" Xuan suddenly froze in place, having been so excited just moments before.
After being stared at by four or five pairs of eyes for a while, Xuan Yi looked up at me with a blank expression.
"Gao?" (Why?)
"Ah?" I raised an eyebrow at him. "How would I know? You never told me!" This is your matter; why are you asking me?
"Gao..." Not getting an answer made Xuan's expression scrunch up in frustration as he silently paced around the stone statue's pedestal.
"Uh... What is he doing?" asked the more composed boy in confusion.
"It forgot the reason and is rethinking," I replied.
"What does that even mean..." Wei Wuxian said, laughing helplessly as he jumped down from Lan Zhan. "In that case, let it think here slowly; let's head inside first!"
"Please follow me," I glanced at Xuan Yi, sighed inwardly, and turned to lead the way.

"Um, may I ask how to address this young lady?" After walking for a while, the composed young man suddenly spoke up.
I, Xu Ran, stopped and turned to look at him silently.
"Shouldn't you introduce yourself before asking others?"
He paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "My apologies, I am Lan Sizhui."
"Lan Jingyi," another young man added.
"And this one is none other than the esteemed gentleman of the Gusu Lan clan, a paragon of virtue and integrity, one of the illustrious Lan brothers known for their noble character—Second Master Lan, Mr. Han Guang, Lan Zhan!" Wei Wuxian interjected with a grin, placing his hand on Lan Wangji's shoulder as if to emphasize his point. "As for me, you already know who I am, so there's no need for further introduction."
Without Xuan present, he immediately reverted to his usual playful demeanor. Lan Wangji merely nodded in acknowledgment without saying much.
I stood there for a while, feeling my head buzz.
"...I am Wei Mianfei," I collected myself and mimicked their gestures in greeting. "I am not very familiar with etiquette; if I have offended anyone, please forgive me." With that, I turned and continued walking.
"However, this Potter's Field has indeed changed a lot; it’s completely different from what I remember..." Wei Wuxian turned to look around and couldn't help but exclaim.
"Really! It's so different from when we were first brought here; back then it was so desolate!" Lan Jingyi chimed in.
"By the way, I remember that all the Guardian of the Mountain Stone Beasts in Potter's Field should have been destroyed. Was that stone beast we just saw a replacement? Which family set it up?" Wei Wuxian asked.
"No..." I hesitated for a moment and whispered, "I restored it."
"You restored it?" He looked at me in surprise. "Why?"
"...Because I was too bored."
Upon hearing this, he burst into laughter. "Wow—who would have thought that this young lady possesses such extraordinary skills!"
"Thank you for the compliment." I accepted his praise with indifference.
"Then, was the spirit beast's soul also summoned by you?"
"No, it appeared on its own after the statue was restored." I shook my head in denial.
"Oh? Is that so..."
I could vaguely sense his scrutinizing gaze directed at my back, causing me to feel a chill run down my spine and my neck hairs to stand on end.
I shouldn't have... said anything wrong, right?
"By the way, Miss Wei, may I ask what your relationship with Daoist Song Zichen is?" he inquired again.
"Relationship?" I slowed my pace and tilted my head in thought before admitting, "I'm sorry, I haven't considered that question and don't know how to answer."
"Huh? Aren't you the orphan taken in by Master Song?" Lan Jingyi interjected with confusion.
"No." Although Song Lan had kindly taken care of me at first, I didn't consider myself taken in by him; after all, I was the one who had stayed here first. Shouldn't it be more accurate to say that I took him in?
"Isn't he a disciple of Master Song?"
"No." I indeed had not taken him as my master; our techniques and paths were completely different, and all he had taught me were literacy and some life skills.
So, should I call him teacher... no, sir? Life mentor? Hmm, I don't understand.
"Then why are you with Master Song on this Potter's Field? There must be a reason," Lan Jingyi pointedly asked.
I glanced at him silently and sighed softly, "This matter is quite complicated... Could we wait for Daoist to return and let him explain?" I really didn't want to elaborate.
"Miss Wei, earlier A-Qing said that Master Song isn't in Potter's Field and she was going to notify him. So why is she heading up the mountain?" Lan Sizhui asked in confusion.
"Right! Normally, shouldn't she be going down the mountain to find him? Besides, we didn't see her signaling or anything; how is she supposed to notify him?" Lan Jingyi chimed in.
"A-Qing has her own way of notifying Daoist when he returns; there's no need to worry," I replied ambiguously.
Finally, we arrived at the Demon Suppression Cave, and A-Qing immediately came forward.
"You're so slow! Xiao Hua, you really walked too slowly! I almost fell asleep waiting!" A-Qing complained.
"Sorry, I was delayed by Xuan for a bit," I said as I approached her, letting out a sigh of relief.
Great! Finally, I wouldn't have to handle this alone!
"Huh? What's going on? Where's Xiao Hay?" A-Qing asked hurriedly when she didn't see Xuan's figure.
"It's nothing; just his silly antics acting up again, don't mind it," I said irresponsibly.
"Um... A-Qing, where's Daoist Song Zichen?" Lan Jingyi looked around but didn't see the expected figure, feeling puzzled as he asked.
"Oh, I've already notified them. The Daoist should be back soon. You all... oh dear, there's nowhere for the guests to sit and rest. What should we do, A-Qing?" A-Qing looked at me with a troubled expression.
I stared back at her blankly.
...You invited them in, so why are you asking me?
"A-Qing, don't worry. We can manage on our own. But is it alright if we walk around and take a look here?" Wei Wuxian casually wandered around, suddenly curious about the Sophora Tree, reaching out to touch it—
"Wait! Don't touch that!" Both A-Qing and I shouted in unison.
Wei Wuxian quickly pulled his hand back and took two steps back, but couldn't help asking curiously, "What's going on? Does this tree bite?"
"Uh... I'm sorry, I don't know how to explain. Just please don't touch it until Master Song returns!" I said awkwardly, feeling a bit flustered.
"Hmm... Lan Zhan, can you tell if there's anything strange about this tree?" he quietly asked the person next to him.
Lan Wangji silently looked up and examined the tree before shaking his head. "I don't know."
"Oh, since even you can't figure it out, then forget it." He shrugged dismissively. "So, is there anything else we shouldn't touch? Or do we have to wait for Master Song to return before we can decide?"
