When Gu's Dad asked what the conditions were, Wanwan felt a bit shy. She wanted Gu's Dad to give her a few extra pieces of cake on his birthday.
This made Gu's Dad laugh heartily, praising Qin's Dad's daughter for being adorable. He not only ruffled Wanwan's little head but also suggested taking her home to keep for a few days.
Qin's Dad instantly became furious, shouting that he would kick Gu's Dad. He anxiously pulled his daughter close and mocked Gu's Dad, saying, "Even if you have another child, you won't be able to produce such a cute daughter."
He warned him to stop having designs on his Precious Daughter. The atmosphere between the two men grew tense, with Gu's Dad getting angrier and ready to retaliate.
At that moment, Gu Fangchi worriedly asked, "Dad, Uncle, are you two going to be okay?"
Wanwan immediately patted her chest and assured them, "We're good friends! Uncle Gu will be fine; Wanwan will definitely protect you both."
Their conversation happened to be overheard by Gu's Dad, who promptly brushed off the incessant chatter from Qin's Dad and approached Wanwan. "Since you’re friends, you should call me Brother Chi from now on." Upon hearing this, Wanwan nodded vigorously in agreement.
Gu's Dad paid no attention to his son’s flushed face and mischievously said, "From now on, Wanwan can't call me Uncle Gu anymore."
As soon as those words left his mouth, Gu Fangchi felt an ominous premonition. Sure enough, Gu's Dad then declared that Wanwan should call him Godfather from now on. Qin's Dad was so enraged that he seemed to lose his composure.
Then Wanwan sweetly asked Qin's Dad, "Uncle Gu wants me to call him Godfather."
Qin's Dad wrapped his arm around his daughter's shoulders and asked her, "What do you think about that?"
After thinking for a moment, Wanwan tiptoed and whispered in her dad's ear, "If Uncle Gu is willing to buy me cake every day, I could agree to it."
Qin's Dad helplessly poked his daughter who was calculating in her mind. "You're such a little foodie; you can be bought off with just a piece of cake."
Hearing this, Gu's Dad was overjoyed and shouted, "Absolutely! Uncle Gu is more than willing; I’ll buy Wanwan a piece of cake every time we meet from now on."
Wanwan playfully extended her finger to make a pinky promise with him.
Then, Gu's Dad, overwhelmed with joy, opened his wide arms to hug Wanwan, but was firmly held back by Gu Fangchi behind him, urging him to calm down. He then placed a protective hand in front of Wanwan to keep the overly excited Gu's Dad at bay, fearing it might scare her.
Seeing Gu Fangchi protect her like that, Wanwan happily called out from behind, "Brother Chi!"
Upon hearing this, Gu Fangchi's face turned as red as a monkey's backside, and he couldn't quite believe that Wanwan was calling him. Before he could react, Wanwan leaned forward and planted a kiss on his cheek.
Watching his shy son covering his face, Gu's Dad seemed to have discovered a new world and kept taking pictures of him with his phone.
Gu Fangchi felt both embarrassed and angry as he started to snatch the phone away from his dad.
Qin's Dad and Wanwan laughed at the scene; this was how a father and son should be.
The next afternoon, Wanwan rubbed her eyes as she walked down the stairs. When she saw the table full of delicious food prepared by her grandpa and dad, she instantly woke up, her eyes sparkling with excitement. In a flash, she sat down at the table, unable to stop drooling.
The next moment, her little belly began to protest with soft growls.
Holding her tummy, Wanwan said, "Dad, are you hungry? My tummy wouldn’t make noise like this!"
Soon after, Qin's Dad smiled and said goodbye to his daughter. It was Sunday, so there was no school, allowing her to stay home with Grandpa.
As soon as Qin's Dad left, Grandpa Qin picked up a fishing rod and invited Wanwan to go fishing with him.
Wanwan thought for a moment; her grandpa usually either fished or played chess. It sounded like it would be fun, so she happily agreed to go with him.
Grandpa Qin was so touched that he nearly cried. Usually, his precious granddaughter was either occupied by her father or that brat Qin Qihuai.
Finally, he had time to bond with his lovely granddaughter.
Moments later, an off-road vehicle stopped at the fishing area. The elderly fishermen were puzzled. "Didn’t Old Qin say he wouldn’t come today because of something important?"
Grandpa Qin adjusted his sunglasses with a smug grin. "Ding ding ding! Today is for spending time with my precious granddaughter and enjoying some fishing."
"Wanwan" politely waved. "Hello, grandpas."
Upon hearing their granddaughter's voice, the old men were so shocked that they nearly lost the few teeth they had left.
The old man accidentally fell into the water, but his granddaughter showed no concern at all. Instead of letting the bodyguards jump in to save him, she instructed them to prepare some towels.
If anyone could capture that expression, I would immediately live-stream myself breaking stones on my chest.
It turned out today was the weekend, and Wanwan didn’t have to go to kindergarten. Usually, she was monopolized by either her father or her older brother.
Now that he finally had the chance to spend some quality time alone with his granddaughter, Grandpa Qin wasn’t going to miss it. He immediately prepared to take her fishing.
As Wanwan made her grand entrance, all of Grandpa Qin's friends were instantly smitten, and the three old men forgot about fishing altogether as they gathered around to praise how adorable Wanwan was.
One of the old men couldn’t help but pat Wanwan on the head, and Grandpa Qin was delighted by his friends' reactions.
Suddenly, Wanwan pointed at the riverbank. "Grandpa, I think your fish is biting!"
With a smooth motion, Grandpa Qin lifted his rod, and a large red carp leaped out of the water. The old men had never caught such a big and beautiful red carp before; they instantly surrounded Grandpa Qin in envy.
At that moment, Wanwan earnestly told her grandfather, "Grandpa will catch an even bigger fish."
Master Qin happily prepared to cast his line, but an untimely cold snort interrupted him. An old man by the river mocked, "How can you take a child's words seriously?"
Wanwan's companion, the old man, chuckled and expressed his belief in Wanwan's words. He then picked up his fishing rod and bid farewell to Grandpa Qin, preparing to change his fishing spot.
Wanwan comfortably accepted the milk tea brought by her bodyguard while Grandpa Qin fixed his gaze on the river, muttering incessantly, "Big fish, big fish, big fish!"
In the next moment, the fishing float on the water began to stir.
Master Qin quickly grabbed the fishing rod, surprised at how fast the fish were biting. With a splash, a larger and more beautiful red carp was successfully reeled in by Grandpa Qin. The old man who had just been making sarcastic remarks was now filled with envy. "It really is a big fish! Your granddaughter isn't the Reincarnation of a Koi Fish, is she? She speaks so accurately."
Just as everyone was celebrating, a sudden splash echoed from afar. "Oh no! It's Uncle Gu! Uncle Gu has fallen into the water!"
Without hesitation, Master Qin stripped off his shirt and dove into the water to rescue Uncle Gu. The bodyguard behind him was frantic; if anything happened to the master, it wouldn't just be losing a job.
Meanwhile, Wanwan calmly reassured the bodyguard, "Grandpa will be back soon."
The bodyguard wanted to say something but was interrupted by Wanwan, who urged him to prepare some towels for Grandpa.
Wanwan had calculated that there was no danger for her grandfather, but she wouldn't share that information with the bodyguard.
Suddenly, dark clouds gathered in the sky. Wanwan was startled; everything had seemed fine just moments ago. Now, the river was filled with ominous energy, even carrying a hint of malevolence.
