I glanced at Lu Jie and asked, "What are the conditions?"
Lu Jie pointed at the tombstone in front of us and said, "I want this Wangchuan Stone; it will be useful to me!"
The Eerie Energy within the Wangchuan Stone could aid in the cultivation of evil entities, making it very beneficial for a Zombie like Lu Jie.
I exchanged glances with Jiang Bao, who nodded in agreement. I then said, "No problem! As long as we eliminate this evil spirit, the Wangchuan Stone will be yours!"
"Lu Jie, do you have a plan to deal with this evil?" I asked curiously.
As Lu Jie pulled out some tools from her waist pouch, she explained, "The Wangchuan Stone is as hard as iron; it's impossible to destroy it directly. To deal with this evil spirit, we need to find a way to lure it out from the Wangchuan Stone!"
"Are you sure these items will be enough to draw out the spirit?" I glanced at the tools Lu Jie had taken out. They were all common items: a vermilion thread soaked in Black Dog Blood, a White Candle, a box of vermilion powder, and two Willow Leaves.
Lu Jie shot me a glare and said, "Jiang Ling, if you don’t understand, just keep quiet! If you don't believe in my abilities, then you can handle it yourself!"
I was at a loss for words against Lu Jie’s retort. Feeling awkward, I scratched my ear and said, "I was just saying it casually; don’t take it seriously!"
"Since it's for Jiang Bao's sake, I won't argue with you!" Lu Jie huffed. She picked up the White Candle from the ground and placed it in front of the tombstone, preparing to cast her spell.
At that moment, Jiang Bao came over and tugged at my sleeve. He said, "Brother Jiang Ling, leave dealing with this evil spirit to me and Jie. You just need to stand guard! I'm worried that the guy who raised this spirit might show up unexpectedly!"
Hearing Jiang Bao's words made me frown as I realized there was indeed a possibility of that happening. I nodded and waved my Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword, saying, "Don't worry! If that person dares to show up, I'll take care of him directly!"
While we were talking, Lu Jie had already placed the two Willow Leaves on the cat's eyes. She knelt before the tombstone and took out a lighter to ignite the White Candle on the ground.
As Lu Jie lit the candle, she chanted aloud: "Red candle welcomes the God of Joy; white wax honors the evil spirit! All Things Have Spirits; let the evil spirit reveal its true form!"
Seeing the White Candle ignite brought a relaxed expression to Lu Jie's face. The lighting of the candle indicated that the evil spirit within the Wangchuan Stone accepted Lu Jie's offering and was willing to show its true form.
"Jiang Bao, come help!" Lu Jie called out as she stood up from the ground. She then took out a brush and began drawing talismans on the back of the tombstone with vermilion powder.
Jiang Bao patted my shoulder and smiled, saying, "Brother Jiang Ling, we'll leave our backs to you!"
I nodded as Jiang Bao ran over to assist Lu Jie in drawing talismans. I noticed how well they worked together; it was clear they often teamed up for missions.
After three or four minutes, aside from the cat, the rest of the tombstone was covered in symbols, and Jiang Bao and Lu Jie also came to a stop.
"The usual rule: I'll lure the evil out, and you use the Cinnabar thread to bind it!" Lu Jie exchanged glances with Jiang Bao.
"Jie, be careful!" Jiang Bao nodded. He picked up the Cinnabar thread from the ground, looking at the cat engraved on the tombstone with a serious expression.
Lu Jie moved back to the front of the tombstone. She knelt down and took out a fist-sized object from her waist pouch, unwrapping it from its oil paper.
The object was about the size of an adult's fist. Although she had unwrapped it, I stood a bit far away and couldn't see clearly what it was.
Lu Jie took out a knife and made a cut on her palm, letting her blood drip onto the oil paper. Gritting her teeth against the pain, she chanted, "Evil Spirit, I call upon you; Lu Jie is here to serve! Today I offer the Seven Apertures Luminous Heart; please manifest and partake!"
"What the hell, it's a heart!" I was taken aback by Lu Jie's words. Frowning, I hurried to take a closer look and found that there was indeed a heart placed in front of the tombstone, but it wasn't a living person's heart; it was a pig's heart.
Once I realized that, I let out a sigh of relief. "So it's just a Pig Heart; you scared me!"
As soon as I finished speaking, I noticed that the evil presence on the tombstone reacted. Although the cat was just an engraved image, I felt as if it had moved.
At that moment, Lu Jie glanced at the White Candle in front of her and noticed that its flame suddenly grew two or three times larger, turning slowly green like ghost fire.
Lu Jie's expression changed as she shouted to Jiang Bao, "Jiang Bao, the evil spirit is coming out! Be ready!"
Jiang Bao nodded, focusing intently on the evil spirit before him.
"Meow~~" Suddenly, I heard a cat's meow coming from Grave Hill. I turned around to look but saw no sign of any cat.
"This can't be happening!" I stared at the tombstone, swallowing nervously. Even though I knew it was just the evil at work, I still felt frightened.
Just then, an eerie energy suddenly swept over Grave Hill, blowing away two willow leaves that had been placed over the cat's eyes.
"What’s going on?!" I shouted as I saw that the cat's previously closed eyes had opened wide and were now filled with life.
Seeing that the White Candle in front of the tombstone had suddenly extinguished, Lu Jie quickly stood up from the ground and shouted in panic, "Not good! The evil spirit has already noticed us! Jiang Bao, act fast!"
As soon as Jiang Bao heard Lu Jie's voice, he threw the Cinnabar thread in his hand. His right hand quickly formed a Seal as he shouted, "Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods! The Way of the Dao is Self-Established, rampaging to exterminate demons! Urgent as the law commands!"
"Zhusha Demon Binding Spell, command!" Just as Jiang Bao finished speaking, the talismans on the tombstone emitted a red light, transforming into moving symbols that surrounded the evil spirit within the tombstone.
"Meow~~" The evil spirit inside the tombstone let out a reluctant roar, attempting to shatter those talismans, but it was already too late. The Cinnabar thread thrown by Jiang Bao had wrapped around its neck.
A smile appeared on Jiang Bao's face as he pulled on the Cinnabar thread with all his might and shouted to Lu Jie, "Jie, I've got it! Hurry over here!"
"Jiang Bao, hold on! I'm coming to drag it out!" Lu Jie rushed over, holding the knife from earlier, still stained with her own blood.
Blood flowed from Lu Jie's left hand as she pressed it against the cat's neck; strangely enough, it seemed like she truly had a grip on the cat's throat.
"Come out!" A murderous glint flashed in Lu Jie's eyes as she tightened her grip on the cat's neck and thrust the knife forward.
"Meow~~" Before Lu Jie could stab it, the evil spirit inside the tombstone let out a roar and transformed into a cloud of black smoke that surged out from within.
The swirling black smoke coalesced until it took shape again, revealing a Black Cat—the true form of the evil spirit.
The Black Cat glanced at the three of us, its eyes filled with murderous intent as it spoke in human language, "You all must die!"
