"What the hell is this!" I felt something unusual in my chest and didn't immediately confront Liu Xin. I lifted my shirt and discovered something trying to break free from the Round Seal on my chest.
My heart raced in fear, and I quickly bit my fingertip, drawing a Breaking Seal Talisman on my chest. Although I couldn't completely unlock the Round Seal like Jiang Bao could, I was still capable of creating a small opening.
Once the talisman was drawn, I swiftly changed my hands to cast a Spell and directed it at my chest, chanting, "Round Seal binds the four directions, when danger arises, summon the divine seal. The divine seal resides within me, awaken a thread of spirit. Grant me your power, vanquish demons and evil spirits. Breaking Seal Talisman, command!"
After finishing the incantation, I slapped my palm against the Round Seal on my chest. A wave of heat surged through me, followed by a piercing pain that spread throughout my body, causing me to tremble uncontrollably in agony.
"Ah! Get out of me!" I shouted in pain as blood spewed from my mouth. At that moment, I saw the Round Seal on my chest slowly distort, a crack the size of a finger appearing on its surface. Then, a strange creature began to emerge from my chest.
I sensed the foreign object inside me vanish and immediately changed my hands to cast another Spell aimed at my chest.
"Round Seal binds the four directions, bind my body and spirit, command!" After reciting the incantation, I slapped my palm against the Round Seal again. The previously distorted Round Seal instantly returned to normal, and the excruciating pain that had gripped me disappeared.
I felt weak and pale; my clothes were soaked with sweat. This was the consequence of forcibly breaking open the Round Seal.
I recalled what I had seen earlier on Jiang Bao's chest—the true form of the Round Seal's pattern. I had only seen such a design on my master. The pattern on Jiang Bao's chest indicated that he had completely mastered his Round Seal. This thought made my emotions complex. Clenching my fists tightly, I vowed, "I must become stronger—stronger than Jiang Bao!"
Taking a deep breath, I tried to calm myself down and then turned my gaze to the strange creature on the ground. It was no bigger than a thumb and resembled a slug as it wriggled across the floor. Seeing this creature sparked an inexplicable sense of familiarity within me.
As I approached for a closer look, I noticed it had three eyes on its head; however, two of them were closed while only the middle one was open. Upon seeing those three eyes, a sudden realization struck me. "Wait, could this be that Three-Eyed Leech from that ghost?"
Just as I prepared to reach out and grab the Three-Eyed Leech, I suddenly heard faint rustling sounds behind me. Turning around, I saw that the swarm of Corpse Worms had extinguished the Flame Circle and were charging in.
"That's it!" I felt a chill run down my spine as I saw the swarm of Corpse Worms. A sense of despair welled up inside me. With so many Corpse Worms attacking me, I knew that within an hour, I would be reduced to a pile of bones.
I drew my Peach Wood Sword and smashed the Corpse Worms that rushed at my feet. While defending against them, I slowly moved toward Liu Xin. At that moment, I remembered the culprit and couldn't help but angrily say, "It's all your fault! Otherwise, I could have fought back!"
When I turned to look, I realized that the Three-Eyed Leech had long since disappeared. My anger intensified as I cursed, "You little thing, running away so fast—how ungrateful!"
"Hey? Wait a minute, why are these Corpse Worms suddenly too scared to come near?" Standing still, I noticed that the swarm of Corpse Worms had stopped in their tracks, some even lying on their backs, clearly playing dead.
"Stinky Taoist, what did you unleash? Why aren't my Corpse Worms obeying me?" Liu Xin shouted from not far away. Although her face was devoid of skin and I couldn't see her expression, I could clearly sense her fear.
I ignored Liu Xin's question. Although I didn't understand what was happening, I wasn't going to let this opportunity slip by. Gripping my Peach Wood Sword again, I charged toward Liu Xin and declared, "I'll take advantage of your weakness!"
I held nothing back as I directly affixed the Three Pure Wind and Fire Talisman onto my Peach Wood Sword. Then, with my left hand, I quickly performed a spell while chanting, "Upper Three Pure Ones, revered deities. Grant me your power to vanquish evil spirits. Three Pure Wind and Fire Talisman, command!"
I smeared the blood from my palm onto the Peach Wood Sword and executed the final hand seal. The Talisman on the sword ignited spontaneously without fire, setting ablaze the blood on the Peach Wood Sword until it transformed into a flaming weapon.
Yang Fire is particularly damaging to ghosts and monsters but poses no threat to me. Holding the blazing Peach Wood Sword, I swung it toward Liu Xin's Spirit Cover. She raised her arms to block my attack and let out a ghostly wail before lunging at me with her mouth open.
"I've been waiting for this move!" With my left hand, I pulled out a Talisman and pressed it against Liu Xin's forehead. Then, while forming a spell gesture, I pointed at her forehead.
"Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods. Corpse Controlling Talisman, command!"
As soon as my words fell, my finger landed precisely on Liu Xin's forehead. Her body stiffened instantly and came to a halt. The Talisman on her forehead ignited spontaneously and began to burn slowly.
The Corpse Controlling Talisman could temporarily suppress Liu Xin's physical body, but it would only last for a few seconds. Once the talisman burned out, its effect would cease. However, a few seconds were already sufficient.
I planted the Peach Wood Sword into the ground, took out the Ink Pot from my belongings, pulled out the vermilion thread inside, and looped it around Liu Xin's neck, then proceeded to bind her hands and feet with the thread.
Just as I finished wrapping the vermilion thread around her, the talisman on Liu Xin's forehead burned out. I watched as she struggled to break free from the bindings, but unfortunately for her, her strength was not enough to escape.
"Stinky Taoist, let me go now, or you will die a terrible death!" Liu Xin threatened me darkly as she ceased her struggles.
Hearing her words, I shook my head in disbelief and said, "You really are arrogant! As a Yin-Yang Master, it is my duty to exterminate evil spirits. Why would I fear your threats? You're truly an idiot!"
Ignoring Liu Xin, I took out a stack of talismans from my belongings and placed them all over her body. I sat down on the ground and quickly formed Hand Seals with my hands while chanting a Spell.
"Upper Three Pure Ones, Underworld Deities. Disciple Jiang Ling calls upon you to banish this evil spirit. May the gods witness and destroy this spirit. Thunder and fire, burn this evil spirit. Command!"
As soon as I finished speaking, all the talismans on Liu Xin ignited in flames. She let out a wretched scream, frantically shouting, "Stinky Taoist, haha, if you dare to kill me, you're doomed! Haha, not just you will die; everyone here will die! Haha, just wait and see!"
