The four of them arrived at the entrance of the Abandoned Laboratory, gazing at the dilapidated scene before them, a chill creeping up their spines.
If it weren't for the fact that Ye Xiu was far stronger than the other three, he would have long since returned to his dorm to sleep.
Ye Xiu felt a sense of responsibility. Although there weren't many Demons around, they did exist. What if the three ordinary people encountered a Demon? They would be no different from lambs waiting to be slaughtered.
So, the only one who could protect them was Ye Xiu!
He chuckled to himself, thinking how cool he looked in front of the three of them.
Ignoring their gazes, Ye Xiu strode toward the entrance of the Abandoned Laboratory and kicked aside the trash blocking his way.
"Keep up!"
The three had nothing to say and followed behind Ye Xiu, glancing around nervously.
As they entered the Abandoned Laboratory, a noticeable chill swept over them, causing them to shiver involuntarily.
"Do we just keep going...?" the chubby one asked weakly.
"Of course! What's there to be afraid of? Just keep moving..." Ye Xiu replied calmly, though his voice lacked some conviction by the end.
Thus, they followed Ye Xiu as he turned right and continued onward.
The Abandoned Laboratory was a circular building. Walking to the right would eventually lead them out through the left side of the main entrance.
Everywhere they looked, there was trash scattered about, desks in the classroom were toppled over, and tables in the hallway blocked the way for everyone.
They wandered around aimlessly.
With a loud crash, the four of them froze in their tracks and looked around in alarm.
"Is there... is there anyone else here?" the chubby one asked, his voice trembling.
"There must be! No, there definitely is! Come on, let's go check it out," Zhao Wentong said.
Ye Xiu led the way, with the other three following closely behind as they slowly made their way toward the classroom where the sound had come from.
Ye Xiu glanced around; the desks and chairs were still in disarray, and there was a lot of garbage on the floor. It looked as if a sudden disaster had struck, leaving no time for anyone to clean up. The chaos had remained since it first happened.
He looked at the desk in front of the blackboard; it was quite new, as if someone had been regularly cleaning it.
After surveying the area and finding nothing amiss, he was about to turn back to inform Qian Jinyu, Xie Bei, and Zhao Wentong when he realized that no one was behind him.
Ye Xiu, still inexperienced, felt a wave of dizziness wash over him.
"Where the hell is everyone?"
"Are you messing with me?"
As Ye Xiu was searching for the three people at the door, a loud bang came from behind the desk.
Ye Xiu turned around, holding a flashlight, ready to spring into action at any moment, as if prepared to punch whatever might suddenly appear.
Finally, the desk flipped over, and sure enough, a "person" stood up.
Ye Xiu immediately jumped over, but before his fist could land, he heard a scream.
Following the sound of the scream, Ye Xiu saw that there was another person behind the first one.
The man said, "Hey buddy, we’re not bothering you, are we?"
"Cough cough. No, you guys continue, continue..."
It turned out to be a couple who had come to mess around in the Abandoned Laboratory in the middle of the night.
As Ye Xiu walked out of the classroom, he wondered where the Three Bastards were.
But suddenly he felt something was off. Ye Xiu turned back and realized that the couple had vanished!
They had actually disappeared!
Was it really haunted? Had those two just been taken by a ghost?
Or were those two actually ghosts?
It seemed that no matter what, there was definitely a ghost here.
Ye Xiu was eager to find the Three Bastards, so he left the haunted classroom.
He walked back, carefully avoiding the clutter on the floor.
Finally, he spotted the three of them.
The Three Bastards were giggling and looking at him, and Ye Xiu wasn't too angry.
It turned out they had seen him walking in front, and before entering the classroom, they had left him behind and waited for him at the door.
Ye Xiu walked toward them helplessly, feeling a chill along the way.
As he got closer to them, their expressions gradually shifted from fear to terror.
Ye Xiu quickly turned around and found that a man and a woman were now on either side of him, no longer dressed as they had been before.
At this moment, the man and woman wore plain white long garments, their faces streaked with blood, their eyes hollow. Their feet did not touch the ground; they were floating.
No wonder the three of them were so scared.
In contrast, Ye Xiu appeared much calmer.
He stared unflinchingly at the two ghosts.
The two ghosts in front of Ye Xiu and the three Fags behind him all looked bewildered.
The ghost said, "This person isn't afraid of us? How strange!"
One of the Fags remarked, "Is this guy scared silly? Should we go over and drag him out?"
Meanwhile, Ye Xiu's lips curled into a smile, his excitement nearly bubbling over.
Finally, the moment to show off had arrived. After fleeing from his hometown for so long, he would no longer run away!
Before Ye Xiu could make any move, the two ghosts lunged at his neck from either side.
Ye Xiu didn't even flinch as they bit into him.
A sharp pain coursed through his body like an electric shock.
"Ouch! That hurts!"
Ye Xiu couldn't care less about showing off anymore; instinctively, he summoned the Spiritual Energy within him and unleashed two punches that struck the two ghosts.
The ghosts staggered back a few steps.
"I didn't expect to encounter a Cultivator. Well then, it's perfect timing for a big feast!"
Ye Xiu was momentarily surprised. Why did it only take one punch at the Spirit Heart Realm to push them back so little?
Recalling the sensation of his spirit-infused fist making contact with the ghost's body, Ye Xiu suddenly jolted awake!
These two Demons had already transcended the realm of ghosts!
They had become spirits!!!
That bastard Jiang Baixuan was not wrong; although there were many Demons, most were mere minions, and spirits were almost never seen!!!
Yet here he was, casually encountering two of them!
"Run!" Ye Xiu shouted as he turned and sprinted, calling out to the three others.
The three did not hesitate for a moment and dashed toward the door.
However, those two spirits seemed to have cast some kind of power; the three of them could not escape through the door, as if an invisible wall blocked their path.
"Don't worry about that! Run to the left! I'll cover you!" Ye Xiu shouted again.
Xie Bei, Qian Jinyu, and Zhao Wentong were already racing into the distance.
"Ho ho ho, do you really think your strength can hold us off for long?" The chilling voices of the two spirits echoed behind them.
"Hmph!" Ye Xiu snorted twice.
Then a wisp of blue smoke erupted from Ye Xiu's body and dissipated into the air.
Ye Xiu charged towards the two spirits.
His speed was too fast; the two spirits could only watch as Ye Xiu rushed towards them, unable to prepare any defense in time.
Once again, two punches struck the spirits.
They only staggered back two steps.
As Ye Xiu made contact with the ghostly forms again, he realized that the spiritual power of these two ghosts was comparable to his own.
His strength in the Spirit Jade Realm was at a lower level!
The power of these two ghosts was at least at the level of malevolent spirits!
