Chapter One
Upon realizing this, I was completely bewildered; it was utterly unreliable!
Not only was I confused, but Zhengyang and the others were too!
We exchanged glances, each of us reflecting the same doubts and perplexities in our eyes.
Sauron and Dong Tong left these words?
The likelihood seemed slim!
What about the group of Birdman? It didn’t seem like they would leave these words to remind us; in fact, it was entirely improbable.
In short, this single message had left us utterly baffled!
“Forget it; let’s not dwell on this. We have too little information right now to make any effective judgments.”
Zhengyang sighed, brushed off his robe, and stood up to ask me, “Zi, you’re the cultural expert among us. Can you decipher these murals?”
“I don’t know; I’ll give it a try!”
“Don’t worry; if you can’t decipher them, there’s still Brother here!” Big Mouth Lee chimed in out of nowhere! I couldn’t be bothered to respond to him; he was just an annoying chatterbox.
I shook my head; it was the truth—I really didn’t have much confidence in deciphering these murals.
The primary function of murals is to record, akin to a linguistic representation, but the difficulty in deciphering them far exceeds that of written language. It’s an abstract form of expression that often incorporates exaggerated artistic techniques. For instance, in the Jingjue Kingdom of the Western Regions, they revered the power of the eye and sought exploration, so eyes are prominently featured in their murals. Without understanding their ethnic characteristics and culture, trying to comprehend their murals is simply difficult! The murals before me lacked textual representation, and given how little I knew about Atlantis, I had no grasp of what kind of civilization this was. With only the scant knowledge I possessed at hand, trying to understand these murals felt like a fool's errand; I didn’t have that kind of confidence.
“Give it a shot; do your best!”
Zhengyang patted my shoulder and then went over to wait patiently with Bald Qiang and the others.
I didn’t waste any time either; I raised my flashlight and began studying the murals, losing track of time as I immersed myself in them.
The murals stretched nearly a kilometer in length, depicting a wide array of subjects. I felt dizzy trying to grasp the overall picture, and then… I was left in shock!
Atlantis Civilization, also known as the Fourth Civilization Era of Earth… was far more powerful than we had ever imagined!
Countless contemporary enthusiasts of Atlantis Civilization have speculated about this prehistoric civilization, discussing everything from nuclear technology to cities made of gold. They have pushed the limits of imagination to portray this ancient civilization as formidable, but unfortunately, they ultimately fell short!
Because with our current level of civilization, we simply cannot comprehend the depth of Atlantis!
The reason Atlantis was so advanced and prosperous was not solely due to their own intelligence but because of one thing!
A mysterious object referred to in the murals as the "Heart of Atlantis"!
This so-called "Heart of Atlantis" is actually a stone, a very special stone! More accurately, this stone is akin to a meteorite; it possesses incredibly powerful energy and eventually fell to Atlantis.
What kind of place was Atlantis at that time? It was a desolate wasteland, essentially a place for exiling criminals. Ancient Greece would send their most vicious offenders onto ships and cast them out into the vast sea, and these criminals eventually drifted to Atlantis!
These were the first inhabitants of Atlantis!
When the Heart of Atlantis fell from the sky onto Atlantis, it was discovered by an exiled Greek craftsman. Upon seeing the Heart of Atlantis, he realized that anything he crafted—like wooden horses—would absorb energy from the Heart whenever it came close, causing them to move and even be controlled by him!
It’s easy to guess what happened next—this craftsman gathered all the exiled criminals using the Heart of Atlantis and established a prehistoric civilization known as Atlantis. This craftsman became the founding monarch of Atlantis; he was fortunate enough to stumble upon a nation, making him perhaps the first ruler on Earth who founded a country purely by chance!
Because the Heart of Atlantis emits a white light, the civilization built around it is referred to as the "Light Civilization." This aligns with the prophecies of the Maya!
Thanks to the power of the Heart of Atlantis, Atlantis quickly achieved a fully mechanized societal state, known as the Universal Society!
In this society, people did not need to do anything; they simply enjoyed a life of eating, drinking, and happiness!
Thus, Atlantis was truly an ideal society!!!
Given such a wonderful society, how could it possibly face destruction? This is related to the arrival of a certain individual!
On the eve of Atlantis's downfall, a man known as the "Prophet" by the Atlanteans arrived in Atlantis and quickly gained collective recognition from the king and the people. This prophet warned them that the Atlanteans should not continue to be complacent and disengaged. Outside their realm, places like Athens and the eastern lands where the sun rises were nurturing great civilizations. These civilizations were brutal and favored conquest; if any of them grew strong enough to surpass Atlantis, then Atlantis would face annihilation!
The Atlanteans, who had always been too comfortable to engage in conquest, were taken aback…
They lacked nothing and thus had no desire to invade others, but they were absolutely unwilling to be invaded themselves!
So, the king asked the prophet what should be done. The prophet suggested that they take preemptive action against these brutal civilizations before they grew powerful—eliminate them and conquer them so that they would forever tremble beneath Atlantis!
The king thought this made perfect sense, and thus… Atlantis embarked on a path of external warfare, with their first imagined enemy being nearby Athens!
They began to research military equipment—airplanes, warships—leveraging the power of the Heart of Atlantis to create unimaginable weapons. They even transformed their cities into military fortresses!
For instance… those pipes that drew us in were actually part of Atlantis's city defense system. To understand them in terms of our contemporary civilization, they were essentially cannons!
These pipes continuously absorbed various substances, leaving no air untouched, ultimately decomposing them into natural energy. They stored this energy until it was full, waiting for an invasion. When someone attacked their city, the energy drawn into the pipes would be expelled in a blast, “boom,” directly obliterating their enemies!
Atlantis did not only prepare these; they even used the Heart of Atlantis to create an ultimate warrior, a... ultimate fighter!
Their destruction was due to that ultimate warrior. When the ultimate warrior was close to succeeding, the energy from Atlantis erupted, directly sinking Atlantis and drowning all the Atlanteans. However, during the silence of Atlantis, thanks to the protection of the Heart of Atlantis, Atlantis and Poseidonia were not swallowed by the sea. Even now, Poseidonia remains protected by the Heart of Atlantis, untouched by the waters.
In short, this is a classic case of self-destruction—textbook material!
No wonder the craftsmen who painted the murals wrote with indignation, "The end of civilization is destruction and death." The Atlanteans became overambitious because their civilization was too advanced, too powerful, leading them to recklessly create things whose consequences they could not control, ultimately resulting in their own demise...
This behavior is somewhat similar to our current attempts at creating those advanced warriors.
As for what that ultimate warrior actually was and why it had enough energy to sink Atlantis, the murals do not elaborate. I suspect that even the artist who painted them did not know what they had truly created; after all, such matters were likely top secret at that time.
This is probably the history of Atlantis.
Throughout the entire mural, what caught my attention most was the prophet depicted within it!
The image of that prophet was portrayed in an exceptionally vivid and lifelike manner. He wore a Daoist Robe, and just from his silhouette, I felt an overwhelming sense of familiarity because that silhouette was unforgettable!
Wait a minute, how could this person be Qingfengzi?
