On a clear autumn morning, there was a slight chill in the air. 0

A mist drifted through the city, giving this rain-soaked urban landscape an ethereal quality. 0

On the streets, countless Zombies staggered about, showing no reaction even when they stepped into puddles. Unlike human Survivors, these Zombies were unbothered by the cold; temperature changes had no effect on them. 0

As one of the Zombies, the temperature shift did not affect Chu Donglin either. Dressed in tattered clothes, he cautiously stepped out from the stairwell. 0

It had been nearly a week since he was injured. Although his wounds had not fully healed, they no longer hindered his movement, and Chu Donglin had reached a point where he had no choice but to venture out. 0

The food he had prepared for the girl at home was almost gone, and after a week without fresh meat or Energy Crystals, his body was nearing its limits. 0

Zombies did need to eat; rather, they could extract energy from within their bodies to sustain themselves. 0

For instance, Chu Donglin had lost at least thirty pounds, perfectly embodying what it meant to be skin and bones. 0

If he didn’t find something to eat soon, he felt he would become the first Zombie in history to starve to death. Thus, despite the Zombies still roaming the city outside, Chu Donglin had to take the risk of going out. 0

However, this time he did not plan to go alone. Since individual strength was limited, he would try to harness collective power. 0

Once on the street, watching the mindless Zombies wandering in the morning sunlight, Chu Donglin directly controlled over ten Zombies to surround him. 0

He selected two of the strongest and tallest Zombies from among them for his experiment. 0

These were two burly men standing over six feet tall, their muscular frames contrasting sharply with the emaciated figure of Chu Donglin. Even as Zombies, they were certainly stronger than ordinary ones. 0

Chu Donglin intended to use a method involving Mental Seeds to completely control these two Zombies and make them his subordinates. But before that, he needed to bind them with ropes. 0

After all, from personal experience, he knew that when about to be controlled, Zombies could suddenly go berserk. If he didn’t restrain them beforehand, it could lead to quite a mess. 0

He first used sturdy ropes to thoroughly bind the two unfortunate souls, ensuring that no matter how much they struggled, they couldn't escape. Then, he controlled them to sit in the corner of the wall. 0

The Low-Level Zombie lacked intelligence, so Chu Donglin's series of actions were completed without any hindrance. 0

He controlled a few other Zombies to sit on top of these two unfortunate ones and added another layer of security to prevent them from going berserk and running away. Only then did Chu Donglin condense two Mental Seeds and inject them into their minds. 0

As expected, the two Zombies went wild. 0

However, it seemed that because they had not yet formed Energy Crystals in their heads, their Fury was not very intense, and they quickly calmed down. 0

Once Chu Donglin's Mental Seeds completely merged with them, these two muscular Zombies, each over six feet tall, were under his control. 0

Cutting off the mental link with them, Chu Donglin said, "Get up." 0

The two Zombies stared blankly at him, unresponsive. 0

"Get up." 0

Still no reaction. 0

Chu Donglin facepalmed in disbelief and connected with their minds using his Mental Power. Only then did he control the two big fellows to stand up. 0

"Damn it, is this kind of control really not that impressive? Or do these two idiots just not understand me?" 0

Chu Donglin pondered for a moment, stroking his chin as he circled around the two Zombies standing like door gods, beginning various manipulation experiments. 0

Three minutes later, he sighed and commanded the two large Zombies, who were fighting each other, to stop. 0

The method of control was indeed impressive. When Chu Donglin originally manipulated Zombies, he could only command them to perform simple actions—running, stopping, walking, hitting, jumping, and so on. Anything more complex was beyond their capabilities. 0

It seemed that the vacant minds of these Ordinary Zombies lacked the processing mechanism to respond to Chu Donglin's commands. 0

However, once he planted a Mental Seed in their brains, he could control them without any hindrance. 0

Now, Chu Donglin only needed a few basic commands to make the two large fellows before him perform various complex actions. 0

The sensation was somewhat reminiscent of the real-time strategy games he had played before, such as Warcraft and StarCraft. 0

He was the controller, and these Zombies were his soldiers, acting according to his orders. It was clear that although the number of Zombies increased, the difficulty of his control would gradually rise. 0

Of course, this single drawback was almost negligible compared to the countless advantages. 0

After discovering the benefits of this control method, Chu Donglin did not hesitate; he quickly replicated it to control over twenty more towering and powerful Zombies. 0

With these loyal subordinates in tow, Chu Donglin headed straight for a nearby supermarket. Based on his observations over the past few days, he knew that an unfortunate First-Stage Zombie had escaped from here. 0

Although that fellow's injuries were not as severe as his own, they were still significant. Now, with over twenty subordinates at his side, Chu Donglin felt confident about confronting him. 0

However, instead of directly attacking, he first led his newly acquired group to raid a nearby construction site, equipping each of them with a Steel Pipe. 0

While at the construction site, he also gathered a few strong Zombie Brothers, bringing the total number of Zombies under his control to its maximum limit. 0

If it were simply about controlling Zombies, he could manage up to one hundred. 0

But for this thorough control where Zombies followed him completely, his limit was thirty. Although it seemed low, it was sufficient for now. 0

After all, the abilities of First-Stage Zombies vary greatly; the stronger ones can be inhuman, while those at a lower evolutionary level are comparable to ordinary humans in combat power. 0

Yesterday, when Chu Donglin discovered the injured First-Stage Zombie, he realized that its strength was not very impressive. Such a weak fellow could be threatened by just thirty robust Zombies. 0

The Zombies under his command wielded steel pipes, but as the leader, Chu Donglin needed a more formidable weapon to showcase his power—he emerged carrying a hammer weighing over twenty pounds. 0

For an average human, swinging such a hammer would be quite strenuous, but for Chu Donglin, it felt as light as a child's toy. 0

With a group of followers in tow, they marched through the streets. Along the way, the low-level Zombies all shrank back in fear; even these mindless fellows seemed to understand that Chu Donglin was not to be trifled with. 0

Bang— 0

He kicked open the glass door of the supermarket and led his towering subordinates inside. 0

The scene was reminiscent of a black market boss storming in with his henchmen, exuding an intimidating presence. 0

However, it was unfortunate that although these Zombies were large and imposing, they lacked any real aura of menace. 0

One by one, they appeared dazed and confused. If normal humans were to see this group of Zombies, their first reaction would indeed be fear, but soon they would likely find it hard to suppress laughter. Under Chu Donglin's control, the Zombies' foolish demeanor was hardly intimidating. 0

"Come out! I know you're in there, don't hide!" 0

With the iron hammer in hand, Chu Donglin kicked over a shelf and shouted loudly into the supermarket, "You have the guts to eat people but not to come out, huh?" 0

In such a narrow space as a supermarket, having too many people made it harder to control. Chu Donglin planned to lure out that First-Stage Zombie so he could deal with it slowly. Therefore, he deliberately made a loud noise to provoke the Zombie inside. 0

After smashing the third glass display case with his hammer, amidst the piercing sound of shattering glass, the blood-soaked First-Stage Zombie finally appeared. 0

He was a young man in his twenties, standing over six feet tall, dressed in a white suit. 0

It was evident that this fellow had once been quite a handsome guy. However, it was unclear what unfortunate event had befallen him; half of his face was mangled, making him look grotesque and terrifying. 0

The dark red growths on his face already showed signs of decay. Flies buzzed around the oozing wounds, drawn to him like flies to a piece of rotten meat. 0

Hearing the piercing sound made by Chu Donglin, he curiously poked his head out from behind the shelf. Looking at Chu Donglin standing at the entrance, this First-Stage Zombie was puzzled—how could this emaciated fellow dare to provoke him? 0

His low intelligence prevented him from noticing the strange group of Zombies behind Chu Donglin. Seeing this soft target, he hesitated for only a moment before roaring and lunging forward without hesitation. 0

“Roar!!!” 0

However, amidst the Zombie's deep growl, Chu Donglin smiled and stepped back, cowardly running toward the entrance. 0

This action infuriated the First-Stage Zombie. Its blood-red eyes widened as it disregarded the two rows of Zombies standing at the entrance and charged straight at Chu Donglin's retreating figure. 0

This was its prey! How could it let its meal slip away? 0

It roared and howled, clawing its way toward Chu Donglin's back. 0

Then, as it passed through a sea of thirty Zombies, these Low-Level Zombies, who should have been standing there dazed, suddenly raised their steel pipes and struck down with madness. 0

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!— 0

More than thirty steel pipes came crashing down simultaneously. The First-Stage Zombie let out a wretched howl as it was knocked over on the spot. 0

Under Chu Donglin's command, these thirty-plus Zombies did not stop after toppling the Mutated Zombie; they continued to raise their steel pipes and beat down on the First-Stage Zombie with unrelenting fury. 0

The First-Stage Zombie let out a painful wail as it unleashed its Mental Power, attempting to scare off the Low-Level Zombies surrounding it. 0

However, these Zombies had all been implanted with Mental Seeds by Chu Donglin, rendering its intimidation tactics completely ineffective. 0

The onslaught of Madness continued for over three minutes, and in the end, the First-Stage Zombie was beaten to a pulp, its bones shattered and lying lifeless on the ground. 0

Yet, true to its nature as a First-Stage Zombie, even in such dire circumstances, it managed to take down three of Chu Donglin's Zombies in its desperate counterattack. 0

Approaching the corpse of the First-Stage Zombie, Chu Donglin smashed its skull with a single blow, splattering blood and brain matter everywhere. 0

"Ugh, that's really disgusting," he remarked expressionlessly as he rummaged through the gruesome remains to retrieve an Energy Crystal. 0

A tempting aroma wafted through the air, causing the surrounding Zombies to stir restlessly. 0

However, under Chu Donglin's control, they did not rush forward but instead gazed hungrily at the Energy Crystal in his hand. 0

Chu Donglin ignored their longing stares, wiped away the blood from his hands, and swallowed the Energy Crystal whole. 0
