The next time he encounters this fellow, he might be chased by an even more terrifying Zombie—this thought came out of nowhere, yet Ban Qingya felt it oddly aligned with the man's way of operating. 0

In this chaotic and dangerous apocalypse, there was probably no one else who would not only avoid danger but also dare to provoke these High-Level Zombies like the man before her. 0

"Xing'er, do you see that? That's the mysterious man we encountered last time. Impressive, right?" 0

Ban Qingya snapped back to reality from her reverie, smiling at the girl beside her as she gently patted her shoulder. "What's wrong? Why are you so lost in thought? You’re not scared by that strange and terrifying Zombie, are you?" 0

Liu Xiner suddenly looked up, her face filled with terror as she grabbed Ban Qingya's hand. 0

"Sister Qingya, that person... that person..." 0

She was overwhelmed with excitement, joy, fear, worry, and disbelief—all these emotions surged within the girl’s heart, filling her chest to the point where it felt like it might burst. 0

"The Necklace... that Necklace... that person..." 0

Her words were a jumble, but Ban Qingya furrowed her brow, sensing something strange. 0

"You know this man?" 0

Earlier, when the man leaped over a car parked by the roadside, his motorcycle had soared several meters into the air. In the sunlight, something shiny had indeed flung off him. 0

Though it was too far away to see clearly, Ban Qingya felt certain it was a Necklace. The girl before her was so agitated; could it be that the man... 0

She grabbed Liu Xiner's shoulders in shock and exclaimed, "That man is Chu Donglin?!" 0

The words were filled with disbelief. 0

After all, just moments ago, they had been discussing a fellow named Chu Donglin, and now, turning around, the other party was being chased by a terrifying Tyrant, making a grand entrance with explosive sounds. What were the odds of such a coincidence? 0

Ban Qingya was about to ask more questions when Liu Xiner suddenly broke free from her grasp and ran toward the staircase behind them, disappearing from Ban Qingya's sight in an instant. 0

"Xing'er, you..." 0

Hearing the hurried footsteps descending the stairs, Ban Qingya instinctively reached out to grab Liu Xiner's hand, but her hand froze in mid-air. 0

The desolate Autumn Wind blew, stirring Ban Qingya's long black hair. She stood on the empty stage, sighed, and slowly retracted her hand that was suspended in the air. 0

"Could it really be that fellow? What are the odds of that happening..." 0

She murmured to herself before leaving the stage, her beautiful figure quickly vanishing at the staircase. 0

Her descent was not hurried; compared to Liu Xiner's excitement and anxiety, Ban Qingya appeared much calmer. She even returned to the room where they were temporarily staying to retrieve her weapon. 0

"Big Sister, where are you taking that weapon?" 0

The companions gathered in the living room playing cards looked up curiously. 0

"Yeah, President, where are you going? And what happened to Xing'er? She's gone too!" 0

Ban Qingya shrugged and left the living room, gripping the sharp long sword forged from cold steel. 0

"I'm going downstairs with Xing'er for a bit. We'll be back soon, so stay here and don't wander off." 0

This sword was an unexpected find during the rescue team's search for food, a relic of a former homeowner. It was not only incredibly sharp and sturdy but also surprisingly lightweight, making it manageable even for someone like Ban Qingya. 0

However, with the arrival of the apocalypse, that homeowner had turned into a Zombie. After Ban Qingya and her companions dealt with its corpse, the sword became her weapon. 0

With the sword's sharpness, one strike could easily cleave a person in two, more than enough to handle Ordinary Zombies. Moreover, Ban Qingya also had a handgun obtained from the police station, meaning even ordinary First-Stage Zombies posed little threat to her. 0

As they watched Ban Qingya's retreating figure, the group exchanged glances, and one young man stood up to follow her. 0

"I'll go see what's going on with Big Sister." 0

As the leader of the group, even if Ban Qingya insisted otherwise, they couldn't let her venture out alone. So despite her warning, one young man grabbed his weapon and rushed out to protect her. 0

When they reached downstairs, they found a girl named Liu Xiner anxiously searching for something in the street. She appeared to be in a state of panic, torn between hoping things were as she feared and dreading that they might indeed be true. 0

After all, it was clear to anyone that the man on the motorcycle was in grave danger from those terrifying monsters. While a reunion would be joyful, it would be devastating if it came with news of impending death… 0

"President, what's Xing'er doing?" 0

A boy named Wu curiously watched Liu Xiner flailing about like a headless chicken in the street and asked, "Is she looking for something? Why does she look so terrified? What happened earlier?" 0

Ban Qingya sighed and walked to the center of the street. "This girl might have run into someone she knows." 0

That was all Ban Qingya said, but it was enough for Wu to understand. 0

Disaster had struck, and the world had instantly turned into a hellish zombie apocalypse. Humanity struggled to survive among those monsters, having fallen from being the spirit of all things to living in dire conditions, barely scraping by, with entire families teetering on the edge of extinction. 0

In such a hellish world filled with despair, encountering a former relative or even an acquaintance was something worth getting excited about. 0

Even if it was a rival with whom there had been past disputes, meeting in this zombie-infested world would evoke a sense of familiarity, let alone those who were once close friends or family. 0

For survivors, running into someone familiar was a joy more exhilarating than finding clean drinking water or food. 0

"I found her!" 0

Liu Xiner's surprised shout nearly attracted the attention of the nearby zombies. 0

Due to the rampage of Fourth-Stage Zombies, this street was not only filled with deep pits but also devoid of wandering zombies for the moment, as they had all been scared away. 0

However, the girl's ecstatic shout echoed far and wide, causing those zombies hiding in corners to stir restlessly. 0

Ban Qingya quickly rushed over and covered Liu Xiner's mouth, feeling anxious. "Don't shout! You idiot!" 0

Only then did Liu Xiner realize her mistake. She instinctively shrank her neck and whispered an apology. "I'm sorry, Sister Qingya." 0

"Alright, don't rush to apologize. Let's see if this Necklace is the one you're looking for." 0

Since Wu was nearby, Ban Qingya couldn't be too clear, but Liu Xiner understood her meaning. 0

The girl nodded, gripping the Necklace tightly in her hand. She opened it in her palm and saw an inscription inside the pendant—"Donglin Brother, Happy Birthday." 0

The crystal pendant wasn't very expensive, but the beautifully suspended inscription inside the translucent crystal looked stunning. 0

This Necklace was indeed the birthday gift she had given to that man. And the profile she had caught a glimpse of before was unmistakably that of a man named Chu Donglin... 0

Tears of excitement and joy streamed down Liu Xiner's face. "It's him... it really is him..." 0

She suddenly lifted her head and looked toward the street where Chu Donglin had disappeared, ready to chase after him. "I have to find him!" 0

The feelings that had been suppressed for over a year ignited with this unexpected encounter, completely overwhelming her. She was so excited that she lost herself in happiness and joy, forgetting her current situation and the countless Zombies around her... 0

Ban Qingya grabbed the girl's hand, stopping her from rushing forward. "Idiot, there are so many Zombies outside! Do you want to get yourself killed?" 0

Looking at the Zombies that had begun to wander back onto the streets, Ban Qingya half-forced Liu Xiner back into the building. "Let's go back and discuss this first." 0
