"Brother-in-law!"
The roar of the White Wolf echoed behind them, its terrifying presence palpable even to those who were not Zombies.
Liu Xiner couldn't help but cling tightly to Chu Donglin, her voice trembling with fear.
The horrifying, bloodthirsty aura of the White Wolf was enough to unsettle even Chu Donglin, who had fought his way through countless Zombies.
Liu Xiner tightened her grip on Chu Donglin, enveloped by the overwhelming sense of dread emanating from the creature. A feeling of desperation washed over her.
This was a beast that had evolved to a level comparable to that of snow; it was likely on the brink of reaching the Second Stage of evolution.
However, its beastly form granted it strength far surpassing that of any human-evolved Zombie.
With its massive weight, just one charge could easily crush any Zombie in this world.
Chu Donglin took a deep breath and accelerated once more, the motorcycle speeding through the obstacle-laden city at over seventy miles per hour.
"Hold on tight! Don't be afraid!"
Chu Donglin shouted as the motorcycle surged up a downward slope.
Ahead, countless abandoned cars were haphazardly strewn across the road, making the already narrow street even tighter.
Riding a motorcycle on such an obstacle-filled street required anyone to slow down to a crawl, let alone speed up.
Yet with the White Wolf roaring behind him, Chu Donglin had no choice but to push the motorcycle to over seventy miles per hour again.
The howling wind whipped his scarf behind him as he raced forward.
However, Chu Donglin's eyes remained fixed on the road ahead, unwavering and focused.
His powerful mental energy spread outwards, rapidly measuring the distances and pathways between the obstacles.
Chu Donglin's mind raced, calculating the perfect escape route like a computer processing data at lightning speed.
Even though the motorcycle beneath him was not of poor quality and was considered quite sturdy, the tremors of Madness caused its parts to rattle precariously. After all, this motorcycle had already endured a high-intensity escape when it was being chased by the Tyrant.
Leaps, collisions, landings, and rapid turns… each movement placed an immense burden on the vehicle.
Now, as Chu Donglin drove at this terrifying speed once again, recklessly pushing the motorcycle to its limits, it finally began to creak in protest.
“Brother-in-law! The bike is falling apart!”
The girl’s shout was nearly swept away by the howling wind of their high-speed flight. If it weren't for Chu Donglin's keen hearing, he would have completely missed her cry from behind.
He glanced in the rearview mirror at the massive creature rapidly closing in on them. Gritting his teeth, he slammed on the brakes, bringing the motorcycle to a sudden stop at the bend ahead.
“You're forcing my hand!”
With a screeching sound of tires against concrete, the motorcycle left a long black mark on the ground. Chu Donglin leaped off, grabbing his Machete and charging toward the White Wolf behind him.
“Brother-in-law!”
From behind came the girl's terrified scream, “Come back!”
Without looking back, Chu Donglin sprinted forward and jumped onto a three-meter-high rooftop along the street, racing toward the approaching beast.
“Stay right there and don’t move; I’ll be back soon!” he shouted to Liu Xiner, halting her urge to follow.
The sharp blade of his Machete glinted in the sunlight as he descended, ready to strike at the massive creature that pursued him.
The White Wolf, which had been running at full speed, let out a roar. Seeing Chu Donglin not only refusing to flee but charging towards it instead, it emitted an angry growl.
Its massive body did not hesitate; the enormous Wolf Claw slammed heavily onto the ground as the White Wolf leaped up, lunging at Chu Donglin with a vicious bite.
Two deep pits were left on the Cement Ground where its claws struck, and countless cracks spread out like a spider's web, showcasing its terrifying power.
Its gaze was fierce and Bloodthirsty. As the once-majestic wolf head opened its gaping maw to bite, its sharp fangs glinted like daggers, transforming it into a truly menacing creature.
In an instant, one descended while the other ascended; man and wolf met in mid-air.
Just as the sharp Machete came crashing down, it was caught firmly in the jaws of the giant wolf.
At the same time, with a furious shake of its head, the White Wolf roared in Madness, channeling its strength through the handle of the knife, attempting to wrench Chu Donglin's weapon away.
However, all of this was part of Chu Donglin's plan. The moment man and wolf collided, the glass of a nearby shop suddenly shattered.
Amidst the thunderous sound of breaking glass, several gas-filled steel canisters flew out. The valves opened automatically with a hissing sound as Chu Donglin tossed his lighter into the fray.
"Die! Bastard!"
Chu Donglin roared, unhesitatingly releasing his grip on the Machete, while simultaneously delivering a kick to the giant wolf's head, using the force to propel himself backward.
As the gas from those canisters erupted and ignited by the lighter's flame, a scorching tongue of fire shot forth, engulfing the White Wolf in an instant.
"Awwooo!!!"
With a chilling howl of agony, flames engulfed its entire body. The once-sleek silver fur was almost entirely consumed in seconds.
As the terrifying flames seared its skin and stripped away its protective fur, its bare body was fully exposed to the blazing sunlight. The giant wolf could not help but emit a piercing scream of pain.
It thrashed about in place, its massive form crashing into several abandoned cars.
However, when it stood up and looked at Chu Donglin, he had already sprinted back to the motorcycle at the intersection and started the engine.
Amidst the roar of the engine, the motorcycle carrying a man and a woman vanished from the giant wolf's sight, disappearing around the corner of the street.
"Roar!"
The giant wolf, Blood-red Eyes, revealed a gaze filled with hatred. It roared as it stood up, willing to endure the pain of being scorched by sunlight in order to continue pursuing Chu Donglin.
However, as it stepped on a gas cylinder nearby, its immense strength crushed the cylinder, causing gas to burst out almost instantly.
In that moment, the space filled with dense gas ignited from lingering flames, triggering a terrifying explosion.
Boom—
A tremendous sound echoed, and a dreadful shockwave spread across the ground far away.
At the instant of the explosion, a terrifying air wave radiated outward, shattering countless windows along the long street. The tremors of the ground reached Chu Donglin's senses from afar.
He stopped the motorcycle by the roadside and couldn't help but glance back toward the direction of the explosion. He exchanged looks with Liu Xiner.
"Did... did it explode?"
