"Big Brother, are you a Zombie?"
The girl's originally charming smile could be the most pure and beautiful thing in the world.
However, when Chu Donglin saw the two girls before him, his heart turned cold in that moment.
The two girls were cute and pretty, clean and tidy, completely out of place in the bloody square.
Especially their innocent and pure sweet smiles, which could make even the most ruthless killer put down their weapon.
Yet the strange atmosphere in the air felt like a thorn in his back; even as a Second-Stage Zombie, Chu Donglin felt a chill run down his spine.
Chu Donglin's hand slowly rose.
At the same time, many weapons scattered around began to rise as well.
These sharp and menacing weapons once belonged to human Survivors, but after their wielders were overwhelmed and devoured by Zombies, the abandoned weapons fell to the ground.
Now under Chu Donglin's control, these sharp weapons floated into the air and then flew toward him.
Dozens of sharp blades were aimed at the two cute and innocent girls before him. With just a thought, Chu Donglin could easily slay them.
Liu Xiner's face showed a look of shock.
"Brother-in-law!"
She instinctively grabbed Chu Donglin's hand and asked in astonishment, "What are you doing?"
Chu Donglin paid no attention to the girl this time; he merely looked down coldly at the two girls in front of the White Wolf, his eyes devoid of any trace of ease or jest.
"What are your names, sisters?"
The girl on the left tilted her head and glanced at the massive White Wolf, smiling sweetly.
"Big Brother, is this giant wolf your pet? It's so cool."
Meanwhile, the girl on the right continued to gaze up at Chu Donglin, her face filled with admiration. She asked again, "Big Brother, are you a Zombie?"
As for the dozens of blades swirling around them in the air, they seemed oblivious to them, completely ignoring Chu Donglin's question.
The standoff lasted for a while before Chu Donglin suddenly laughed.
"With Li Zheng's meager strength, it would be impossible to keep everyone in the camp obedient. I didn't expect that his home would hide two powerful weapons... Ha... So, those so-called twins he trained to offer to me were actually a trap, right?"
"With your powers, even a hundred Li Zhengs wouldn't stand a chance against you. Not to mention whatever training you underwent. If I had really listened to him and gone looking for you, I would have been facing an attack from two formidable abilities."
Amidst Chu Donglin's laughter, the girl on the left shifted her gaze from the handsome White Wolf. She looked up at Chu Donglin on the wolf's back and smiled sweetly.
"Big Brother, how did you know we are ability users?"
"Intuition."
Chu Donglin raised a finger and calmly replied. "After all, I am a Second-Stage Zombie. If I can't sense something unusual about you at such a close distance, then I might as well take my own life."
“Hehe... Has Big Brother finally admitted he’s a Zombie?”
The girl on the right beamed with joy, lightly jumping up, her petite body soaring two meters into the air before landing directly on the back of the White Wolf.
Standing in front of Chu Donglin, she stretched out her arms, ready to embrace him.
“A talking Zombie? This is my first time seeing one... Big Brother is truly amazing.”
Just as her two small hands reached out, Chu Donglin's gaze turned cold. A sharp Machete swooshed through the air towards him.
Clang—
With a crisp sound, the Machete was effortlessly deflected by the girl, sent flying over ten meters away before shattering into countless pieces in midair.
“Does Big Brother not like me? Why are you resisting me? Boohoo... Ling'er is so heartbroken.”
The girl wore a face of defeat and sorrow, yet her hands continued to reach for Chu Donglin.
Seeing her so close, Chu Donglin snorted coldly, holding Liu Xiner tightly as he soared into the air, evading the girl's embrace.
A sharp Machete flew towards him, serving as his stepping point.
Using the blade of the Machete as leverage, Chu Donglin pushed off forcefully and ascended further into the sky.
When he hovered at a height of over ten meters above the ground, another Machete flew up automatically, becoming his new stepping point.
With a look of astonishment on her face, the girl held tightly onto Chu Donglin, who stood on the suspended blade, more than ten meters above the ground, looking down coldly at the two girls below.
“Girl, didn’t your parents teach you not to hug strange men randomly?”
As Chu Donglin let out a cold snort, the girl on the ground covered her face in excitement, gazing up at Chu Donglin with admiration and surprise, as if she had just received candy.
“Wow! Flying with a sword! A Sword Immortal! Big Brother, are you really a Sword Immortal? That’s amazing!”
Meanwhile, the girl sitting on White Wolf, who called herself Ling'er, haughtily scoffed and corrected her sister's mistake.
“Keara, you’re such an idiot. Big Brother is clearly standing on a blade; he should be a Sword Immortal, right? Isn’t that right, Big Brother?”
The latter part of her statement was directed playfully at Chu Donglin.
At this point, even Liu Xiner understood that these two girls were not ordinary.
She stared in bewilderment at the two Girls below, her expression filled with confusion.
“Brother-in-law, do they… do they also have superpowers?”
This was the only possibility that could explain why they were able to force Second Stage Zombie Chu Donglin to temporarily retreat and why they showed no fear in front of two powerful Second-Stage Zombies.
As the girl inquired, Chu Donglin nodded gravely.
Then he looked down at the two girls and shook his head.
“If I’m not mistaken, the true masters of this camp are actually you two, right? Li Zheng and Dai Yinzhi. They are just your lackeys?”
“What do you mean by lackeys? Big Brother, your words are really harsh. That brother Li Zheng is quite obedient. He never refuses our requests, so of course we help him with some things… It’s only fair; mutual assistance is a traditional virtue. He treats us well, so when he wants to be the leader of this camp, we just lend him a hand.”
Amid the girl’s innocent and charming laughter, Chu Donglin’s expression remained cold.
“So you’re aware of what Li Zheng is doing in this camp?”
“Pretty much. After all, he rarely keeps anything from us… Of course, he wouldn’t dare to.”
The girl spoke confidently, prompting a cold snort from Chu Donglin.
“Don’t you care about all the disgusting things he’s done?”
“What does it matter? This camp may be dark, but at least it sustains the lives of hundreds of people, right? Big Brother, you’re so capable; why don’t we see you establishing a fair camp to rescue those innocent people?”
The girl named Ling’er giggled, her laughter pure and unblemished.
“And when Ling’er’s parents were eaten by zombies, no one came to save them. Why do you insist that Ling’er help those who stand by and do nothing? Don’t you think that’s unfair?”
As the girl laughed, Chu Donglin shook his head.
“Your thoughts truly leave me speechless.”
Glancing at the girl in his arms, Chu Donglin said, “Since we can live happily without these two girls, do we really need to keep dragging them along and complicate things for ourselves?”
In Liu Xiner's eyes, there was a struggle.
Without waiting for Liu Xiner to make a decision, Chu Donglin called out to the White Wolf below.
"We're leaving."
Upon receiving the command, the White Wolf let out a roar, its massive body shaking as it threw the girl off its back. Then, it leaped over ten meters into the air, catching Chu Donglin and the other person who was falling.
Riding on the back of the White Wolf, Chu Donglin commanded it to move away from the area. He glanced back one last time, only to see that the two girls had not followed.
"Big Brother! Are you going to leave us behind?"
The two girls standing at the edge of the square looked pitifully abandoned, their faces filled with disappointment and sadness.
"Don't ignore Ling'er!"
"Big Brother, please take Keara with you!"
Not bothering with the clearly unstable twins any longer, Chu Donglin urged the White Wolf to speed away from the area.
Then...
"Big Brother, Ling'er likes you the most."
In a whisper close enough to hear, a tender body hugged Chu Donglin from behind. The sweet breath, reminiscent of orchids, gently brushed against his ear, causing a slight tickle.
"Keara likes you the most too... Big Brother, can you take us with you?"
In a gentle whisper, another body wrapped around Chu Donglin from behind.
On the back of the White Wolf, Chu Donglin stiffened, feeling the weight of the two girls hanging on him, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.
With the speed of the White Wolf, it could rival that of an agile Zombie. It accelerated to over a hundred kilometers per hour on flat ground as if it were child's play.
Now, they were already hundreds of meters away from the area. Such a vast distance made it impossible for even an agile Zombie to catch up.
Yet these two girls, who had clearly stayed behind and did not pursue, had suddenly appeared on his back as if they had teleported.
Feeling the two bodies clinging to him, Chu Donglin took a deep breath, his voice icy cold.
"What do you want to do?"
"We just want to be with you, Big Brother... Is there a problem?"
The other girl wrapped her arms around Chu Donglin's neck, playfully leaning in from behind, her chin resting on his shoulder as their faces touched.
"Big Brother, can you sing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'?" (To be continued...)
