In the biting cold wind, the colors gradually darkened. 0

The howling, icy wind swept through the city, tousling Chu Donglin's white hair into a wild mess. 0

His gaze was cold and indifferent, filled with a chilling murderous intent. 0

The aura of Fury surged recklessly through the city, causing countless Second-Stage Zombies to shrink back into corners, trembling in fear under the murderous intent of Chu Donglin and Fury. 0

Beneath Chu Donglin, the massive White Wolf pushed its speed to the limit, racing swiftly through the city. 0

Its enormous body should have been clumsy, yet the White Wolf moved with an agility that was hard to believe. 0

Whether it was the obstacles strewn across the streets or the towering barriers, it navigated them as if they were mere flat ground. 0

What would be a distant distance for an ordinary person was quickly covered by the White Wolf's frenzied sprint. 0

However, when the White Wolf reached the banks of the Li River, it hesitated at the sight of the massive Li River bridge ahead. 0

It stared at the calm, flowing waters for several seconds before ultimately stopping in its tracks. 0

Chu Donglin understood its fear; during their last encounter with water, when he fell in, the White Wolf had followed closely to rescue him. 0

Then, in the icy river waters, they had encountered a terrifying creature that was suffocatingly horrific. 0

The massive form surpassed biological limits in its terror, with writhing Tentacles moving through the water. The vicious suckers glinted with sharp hooks that protruded from their centers. Any creature ensnared by those Tentacles would be shredded alive by the hooks within those suckers. 0

Especially that dreadful and cold aura of Fury, which even Chu Donglin had never witnessed before. 0

The Fourth-Stage Tyrant, the Guardian of the Mysterious Peach Tree, was already terrifying in its own right. Yet, before this monster, the Fourth Tier Tyrant appeared as weak as a child. 0

If it weren't for the fact that the monster had no interest in Chu Donglin and White Wolf, the two Zombies, while passing through the Li River, it was likely that both would have met their demise that night. 0

Now, facing the Li River again, the terror of that night resurfaced in White Wolf's mind, causing it to hesitate. 0

In its Blood-red Eyes, fear and trembling flickered, leaving no room for thoughts of resistance. 0

The restless White Wolf halted in its tracks. Chu Donglin shook his head with a sigh, crouching down to stroke White Wolf's head, using his Mental Power to soothe its agitated emotions. 0

After a few minutes, White Wolf let out a roar and finally broke free from its fear, leaping forward. 0

The long bridge over the Li River stretched across the vast waters, littered with abandoned cars. Many vehicles were haphazardly crashed into one another, creating a scene of devastation at the accident site. 0

However, time had passed since then; even the bloodstains had long been washed away by rain. Aside from the twisted car bodies and wandering Zombies narrating the past horrors, this place bore little difference from a desolate wasteland. 0

The cold wind howled more fiercely above the great river. 0

Yet White Wolf's speed did not wane. The fierce winds brought on by its high-speed run might be unbearable for ordinary people, but for Chu Donglin, a Third-Stage Zombie, they could not shake his body. 0

He stood quietly on White Wolf's back. Without any movement, his body felt rooted in place, impervious to the gusts of wind. 0

Amidst the rising vibrations, White Wolf sprinted across the long bridge over the Li River at full speed and plunged into the city. 0

Within the desolate city, Zombies wandered aimlessly. The dim surroundings were occasionally pierced by their roars, while any trace of Living Beings was nowhere to be found. 0

At this moment, the city truly felt dead. Among the flowerbeds beside the streets, overgrown stalks had reached considerable heights, with many withered vines sprawling into the middle of the road. 0

Chu Donglin believed that if these unmonitored days continued, in less than three years, this city would completely turn into a deserted wasteland. Apart from the Zombies wandering aimlessly, only the resilient plants would continue to survive. 0

By that time, if humanity had not taken action, the surfaces of the tall and magnificent buildings lining the streets would likely be gradually covered in moss and ivy, eventually being engulfed by the vegetation. 0

Gradually, the traces of human life that once existed here would be buried beneath those plants, making them difficult to discover in the end. 0

When that time came, even if humanity could reclaim the city, rebuilding it would undoubtedly require even more effort. 0

“Roar!” 0

In the midst of a rapid sprint, the White Wolf suddenly let out a piercing howl, coming to a halt on the street. 0

It growled restlessly, arching its back and baring its teeth in a threatening manner, issuing a warning roar at the monsters that emerged before it. 0

On its back, Chu Donglin, who had been lost in thought about future changes, was jolted back to reality by the White Wolf's actions. 0

He opened his eyes and looked at the monsters slowly crawling out from the shadows surrounding the street, encircling him and the White Wolf. A look of astonishment spread across his face. 0

Even when facing terrifying Zombies, he had never shown such shock; however, these monsters before him… 0

“Has anyone seen Chen Shu?” 0

In the square, Wu's voice was unusually cold. 0

His gaze lingered on the faces of his companions as he silently assessed their expressions. 0

Most importantly, Wu was quietly searching for someone who was missing from their group. 0

After the deaths of Tang and Li Ming, the group consisted of thirty-five people, which meant he had counted thirty-six. 0

Now that Chen Shu was gone, there should definitely be only thirty-five left. 0

However, he had counted three times, and each time he still came up with thirty-six. 0

No matter how he thought about it, there was definitely an extra "person" in the group. 0

For him now, finding Chen Shu was no longer important. For the safety of everyone, he had to locate this additional person. 0

In this eerie resort, the sudden appearance of an extra person among them was enough to send chills down anyone's spine. 0

Until he found out who this extra "person" was, he had no intention of returning to the base. 0

The strange atmosphere of this resort made him uneasy. Two companions were already dead, and one was missing. If he brought back an unknown "person" along with them, he feared what might happen. 0

Once they returned to the base and everyone dispersed into the crowd, it would be even more difficult to identify that extra "person." 0

He had to find that additional "person" before then and confront them—regardless of whether that "person" was truly human or not! (To be continued...) 0
