Three minutes later, the few vanished monsters screeched as they came running from the end of the road behind the woman.
On their backs, they carried several humanoid figures.
As they scampered over to the woman's side, Chu Donglin also caught sight of what they were carrying...
Three people.
Two men and one woman—three unconscious humans were brought to the woman's feet by those monsters.
"These three fools are so boring. They think about escaping, but it’s utterly pointless... Am I really that terrifying? I just wanted to find three interesting subjects to observe a bit longer, but they’re not even worth it. How dull."
Walking lightly around the three unconscious bodies, the woman who called herself Nana wore a look of frustration as she complained to Chu Donglin.
The three unconscious individuals were all in the same condition, wrapped tightly in enormous black cocoons. Their brows were furrowed, yet their expressions in sleep were quite peaceful, as if they had not suffered any torment.
Chu Donglin recognized them all.
They were Liushan Shu, Liu Xiner... and Liushan Shu's chubby follower, Pan Dayou.
During his last visit to the Resort, this pedophile fellow had attempted to abduct Ling'er and Keara, only to be stopped by Chu Donglin.
Of course, while this fellow was an Ability user, if he had truly managed to take those two demons away... Imagining their personalities, Chu Donglin felt he had saved his life.
However, it was clear that this fellow was not having good luck. Although Chu Donglin had saved him once, his current situation was far from favorable. He was under the control of a group of monsters and a ghostly, eerie woman. It certainly didn’t look like he was living well at all.
Chu Donglin coldly stared at the woman across from him, showing no signs of excitement at Liu Xiner's appearance.
His gaze swept over the faces of the three people present, finally resting on Liushan Shu.
"What have you done to them?"
The woman had been watching Chu Donglin's reaction intently. When she saw his gaze settle on Liushan Shu, she burst into laughter.
"What have I done to them? Hmm... that's a difficult question to answer. How about this: let's exchange answers to our questions. You ask me one, and I'll ask you one. That way, neither of us loses out."
After a moment's thought, she added, "I swear by my name, Nyarlathotep. I will speak nothing but the truth and will not lie. Of course..."
She looked at Chu Donglin with a wicked smile. "If you lie, I won't mind. But if something bad happens afterward, don't blame me. After all, this is an equal treaty, and those who break it will face dire consequences..."
For some inexplicable reason, Chu Donglin felt a chill run down his spine.
As the woman finished her words, he sensed a cold and sinister aura wrapping around him, lingering for a long time.
He glared at the woman before him, furrowing his brows tightly.
"Nyarlathotep?"
"Hmm? Is there a problem?"
"Your name... are you a foreigner?"
The woman tilted her head and thought for a moment. With a playful smile, she replied, "Well, I'm definitely not Chinese... so if you consider me a foreigner, I suppose that's not entirely wrong."
Chu Donglin scoffed and laughed.
"Are you really Nyarlathotep?"
"Absolutely."
"Heh... if you truly are that Evil God, should I surrender right now?"
Chu Donglin laughed sarcastically, not believing this eerie woman.
"Also, if you really are an Evil God, then please reveal your true form... If you are indeed that chaotic evil deity, I believe it wouldn't be difficult for you. It would also let me see just how wicked the so-called Evil God truly is."
The woman sighed, looking helpless.
"My true form is so ugly; are you sure you really want to see it? Even though you're a High-Level Zombie with much stronger Mental Power than an ordinary person, just being close to my avatar is pushing your Mental Power to its limits. Are you not afraid of being scared to death when I reveal my true form?"
Chu Donglin looked at her with a mocking expression, coldly smiling.
"The Evil God cares about my safety? We're not that familiar, are we?"
The woman shrugged and said, "It's such a pity to kill something so interesting after finally discovering it. I wanted to observe a bit more."
"Still being stubborn?"
Chu Donglin shook his head, clearly distrustful of the woman's words. "Don't waste your time. There's no way I would believe you... unless you truly reveal your true form as the Evil God. Then I might consider trusting you once."
The woman looked at Chu Donglin, her expression one of helplessness.
"You really don't believe me?"
"I don't."
"Won't you think about it?"
This time, Chu Donglin couldn't even be bothered to respond, offering only indifference in return.
The woman sighed in resignation. Her previously commanding stance shifted to one of laziness and dejection.
"Alright, alright, then I'll tell you another name of mine... um... if you don't want to call me Nyarlathotep, you can call me Acha. How about that? It's a nice name, isn't it?"
Chu Donglin remained unmoved, his gaze shifting to the three unconscious individuals in front of the woman.
"What did you do to them?"
"Not much, really. They were too noisy while awake, always thinking about escaping. It was quite pointless, so I let them sleep... At least this way, they are much quieter and a lot cuter, don't you think?"
Acha chuckled as she looked at Chu Donglin, her eyebrows arching lightly, her smile sweet and enchanting.
"I've already answered your question, so now it's your turn to answer mine... Now, this handsome Mr. Zombie, could you tell me your name? After all, I've shared my name with you; isn't it a bit rude not to introduce yourself?"
Chu Donglin thought for a moment and replied, "You can call me Chu Le."
Chu Le, that was a name from Chu Donglin's past. In any case, he wasn't exactly lying.
The woman nodded in understanding.
"Well then, Mr. Chu Le, it's your turn to ask... What do you want to know?"
She giggled, her fair hand lightly gliding over her alluring curves, tracing her slender waist and full chest before finally resting at her collarbone, her smile carrying a deep meaning.
"No matter what question you ask, I will answer truthfully."
Her suggestive words, combined with her enchanting smile and posture, stirred something within him, leaving him dry-mouthed and restless. (To be continued...)
