Shu Yuyao's words reminded Ban Guozhi, and his anger began to subside slightly.
He calmed down, no longer struggling with his rage, but his gaze towards Chu Donglin remained cold. "So, you go ahead... Since Qingya is carrying your Flesh and Blood, it means you two have already done that kind of thing?"
Chu Donglin nodded. "Naturally."
"Then fine, I will ask you a question that an ordinary person would never know."
Ban Guozhi stared coldly at Chu Donglin and snorted, "Qingya has a birthmark on her body; tell me where that birthmark is."
Chu Donglin chuckled. "Isn't this something that shouldn't be revealed in public?"
Ban Guozhi scoffed. "What's wrong with that?!"
Chu Donglin thought for a moment and shook his head. "It's not appropriate; come over here, and I'll tell you quietly."
Ban Guozhi looked at him with a cold smile, full of disdain. "Do you take me for a fool? If I come over, you'll just hold me hostage and escape openly, right? Hmph! You won't come out at all, will you?"
Meanwhile, Shu Yuyao pondered for a moment before suddenly pulling out a piece of paper and a pen.
She crumpled the paper into a ball and tossed it along with the pen to Chu Donglin across the way. "Since it's not appropriate to reveal it in public, then Mr. Chu, why don't you write it down... After you're done, throw it back for General Ban to see."
Chu Donglin smiled as he caught the paper and pen thrown at him. He glanced at Ban Guozhi one last time, shrugged, and began to write.
A minute later, Chu Donglin tossed the crumpled paper back.
"There you go; once you look at it, you'll know whether I'm telling the truth or not."
Shu Yuyao took the crumpled paper that had been thrown back at her. Without looking at it, she handed it directly to Ban Guozhi beside her.
Ban Guozhi snatched it from her and opened it immediately.
His face turned pale, a mix of green and white, and his expression was utterly remarkable.
On that piece of paper, a bold handwriting read: On the left side of Ya's chest, there is a heart-shaped pink birthmark, roughly the size of a fingernail.
Ban Guozhi felt darkness closing in around him, nearly gasping for breath.
"Damn... damn!"
Ban Guozhi's eyes were about to burst with rage as he glared at Chu Donglin and roared, "You scoundrel! Ahhhhh! Everyone, shoot him! Shoot him dead!"
Amidst Ban Guozhi's furious outburst, a group of soldiers exchanged glances.
This explosive anger clearly indicated that they understood Chu Donglin's true identity, causing them to hesitate. The guns that had been raised were lowered slightly.
Meanwhile, Shu Yuyao stood in shock, instinctively taking the paper from Ban Guozhi's hand. As she read the words on it, her face was filled with disbelief.
She couldn't help but look at Ban Guozhi beside her and asked incredulously, "Is what’s written here true?"
Ban Guozhi nodded grimly. "Ya has had that heart-shaped birthmark on her left chest since she was born. It doesn’t look ugly, so neither her mother nor I ever considered having it removed... That spot is one that no one else in this world would be able to see besides Ya, unless..."
He glared fiercely at Chu Donglin, his eyes bloodshot. "Yao is being sincere in front of him!"
Shu Yuyao was speechless; she hadn't expected her judgment to be so wrong and couldn't help but glance at Chu Donglin again.
Of course, everyone present had no idea where Chu Donglin had gotten this information.
He certainly hadn't had any encounters with Ban Qingya nor had he ever seen that birthmark. The reason he knew was that a pair of mischievous twins had told him.
While at the camp, those devilish twins had dined with Ban Qingya. Although they didn't stay in the same place, they often bathed together, so it was normal for them to have seen these things.
Chu Donglin wouldn't voluntarily reveal this information; he merely maintained that infuriating smile, playfully looking at Ban Guozhi across from him.
"How about it? Father-in-law, you should believe me now, right?"
Ban Guozhi glared at him with a dark expression, his face twisted with anger. "Even so, I can never accept your relationship with Yao. Get lost! The farther away, the better! Do you know what it means to be the offspring of a Zombie?"
Chu Donglin shrugged with a smile. "That's something for you to enlighten me on, Father-in-law... Can you? What's wrong with the offspring of a Zombie and a human?"
"Hmph! You know nothing! Just let Yao get pregnant... You're truly a scoundrel!"
Ban Guozhi looked at Chu Donglin with fury and growled, "The offspring of a Mutated Zombie and a human will inherit both the killing instincts from their father and mother, turning into the most terrifying and powerful killing machine. But when it's born, this monster will first kill its own mother and then slaughter all Living Beings in sight, indiscriminately attacking friend and foe alike until it becomes stronger. Only then will it gradually develop a new personality, but even that will be a chaotic killing persona—it's an absolute monster!"
Amidst Ban Guozhi's rage, Chu Donglin keenly noticed the key point.
"Mutated Zombie?"
He frowned and continued to ask, "So, the Ordinary Zombie is different from the descendants of humans?"
"Of course it's different! The Ordinary Zombie leans more towards human tranquility. The killings by Zombies are almost nonexistent; they appear quite similar to ordinary people. However, they inherit the abilities and strength of their Zombie parent... In other words, the stronger the parent Zombie, the greater the power that the newborn can inherit. If the parent is just a low-level Zombie wandering around aimlessly, then the newborn will be a low-intelligence child. Only the offspring of high-level Ordinary Zombies have developmental potential, but... hm!"
Ban Guozhi snorted coldly, "Besides Jiang Hai, are there any other places in this world with high-level Ordinary Zombies?"
Chu Donglin shrugged and smiled, "Aren't I one?"
Ban Guozhi looked at him coldly, his gaze icy. "Are you joking? To be honest, there is no place in this world besides Jiang Hai that could possibly have high-level Ordinary Zombies... Even if there were, it wouldn't be now; the evolution of Ordinary Zombies takes much longer."
Suddenly, he noticed something: Chu Donglin's eyes were not the bloodthirsty dark red typical of Mutated Zombies.
Ban Guozhi was stunned.
"You... you're actually not a Mutated Zombie?"
The expression on his face was as if he had seen a ghost, more shocked than if he had heard that his daughter had been assaulted by a Zombie.
"How is that possible? There really are high-level Ordinary Zombies outside of Jiang Hai? What on earth is going on? Could there be a Fallen Body nearby?" (To be continued...)
