The Sky Sword lay before Jiang Chen, rainwater cascading over its blade without leaving a trace. Takeda Dairo stood in stunned silence, his confidence dwindling as he witnessed Jiang Chen's extraordinary abilities, which were unlike anything he had ever seen in reality.
"Is this a celestial sword?" Takeda Dairo gazed at the Sky Sword, his eyes glimmering. This sword, capable of changing size at will, could only be a celestial weapon.
Jiang Chen remained silent, forming a hand seal and summoning the sword. The Sky Sword shot through the air like a streak of light, and Takeda Dairo's head fell to the ground.
"Ichirō!" Takeda's Mother cried out as she collapsed over her husband's corpse, wailing loudly.
The members of the Takeda Family watched in horror, their last shred of hope shattered. If Jiang Chen dared to kill their Clan Leader, they were no match for him.
Takeda Dairo had spirit, but his clan members lacked such resolve. They all knelt down, bowing their heads repeatedly in desperate pleas for mercy.
At that moment, Takeda Kyoko's mind was nearly blank, yet she retained some rationality. It was futile to hate Jiang Chen now; resistance would only lead to destruction. She hurriedly approached Jiang Chen, kneeling before him and grasping his clothing as she wept. "Mr. Jiang, my father has offended you. You can kill him if it brings you satisfaction, but please spare the others; many of them are innocent children."
Jiang Chen looked at Takeda Kyoko and replied coolly, "If you take me to retrieve the Kunlun Divine Mirror, I will spare their lives for now."
Takeda Kyoko quickly agreed. "Yes, Mr. Jiang, I will accompany you. As long as you spare them, I am willing to do anything—even give my life!"
Upon hearing her words, the members of the Takeda Family displayed expressions of gratitude.
"Very well. I only want the Kunlun Divine Mirror; your life means nothing to me!" Jiang Chen maintained his indifferent demeanor.
With a wave of his hand, the Sky Sword flew back into the Storage Jade Gourd, and the heavy rain ceased abruptly. The Takeda Family members stood frozen in fear on the grass, trembling in the aftermath.
Takeda Kyoko remained rooted in place, shaken by the realization that had she not begged for mercy sooner, her entire clan might have been annihilated.
"Miss Takeda, lead me to retrieve the Kunlun Divine Mirror," Jiang Chen instructed. Earlier, when he had used soul-searching techniques on Takeda Dairo, he discovered that the history of the Takeda Family was drenched in bloodshed. Given such a lineage, Jiang Chen showed mercy by only killing their Clan Leader and one son.
"Uh... okay," Takeda Kyoko nodded mechanically. She knew she had to fulfill her promise and dared not refuse Jiang Chen.
"Come with me," Jiang Chen said with a slight smile.
Just as he was about to leave, an eerie sound echoed from the back mountain of the estate—like some kind of instrument playing in the darkness; it sent chills down one's spine.
Jiang Chen paused and looked up. Others could not see it, but he could perceive a mass of Sha Qi rising from the forest behind the estate and spreading toward him.
"This is bad! Mr. Jiang, my fiancé is coming," Takeda Kyoko's expression changed drastically as fear filled her eyes.
"Your fiancé sounds interesting," Jiang Chen chuckled lightly.
"Mr. Jiang, please be careful; he... he's not human," Takeda Kyoko spoke with palpable dread.
"I know," Jiang Chen replied calmly.
"Mr. Jiang, can you handle him?" Takeda Kyoko asked, noticing Jiang Chen's nonchalant attitude.
