"He certainly has a lot of nerve to go looking for the Eastern Deity in Hokkaido," Sister-in-law remarked, her expression brightening slightly as if envisioning Jiang Chen being vanquished by the Eastern Deity. The Eastern Deity was a real Demon God, possessing immense power. Years ago, the Island Nation built a shrine to honor him, hoping he would remain quiet and not stir up trouble. For a century, the Eastern Deity had indeed been peaceful within the shrine, causing no disturbances. However, if Jiang Chen sought to provoke him, it could lead to disastrous consequences, especially with the ongoing deity festival in Hokkaido attracting many tourists. If something were to happen, countless lives could be lost, creating a global uproar. This thought troubled Takeda Kyoko.
The next day in Kyoto was as usual; the events from the previous night at the Takeda Family had not stirred any waves. At the Tengye Family, Tengye Shi saw his daughter heading out early to find Jiang Chen and quickly stopped her, forbidding any contact with him.
"Dad, Mr. Jiang asked me to go. You wouldn't want to offend Mr. Jiang, would you? If he comes looking for me later, it won't be good," Tengye Kikuko said.
Her words left Tengye Shi hesitant to intervene. Indeed, if Jiang Chen were angered enough to come after them, it would be quite troublesome.
"Kikuko, it's best if you avoid Mr. Jiang. Having too much contact with him won’t benefit you; I'm only thinking of your well-being," Tengye Shi advised.
"Dad, I can't agree with you on this one. I not only want to interact with Mr. Jiang but also want to engage with him more often. He’s not an ordinary person; having a friend like him means no one would dare bully me or our family," Tengye Kikuko replied with a smile.
Everyone is filled with curiosity about the unknown. To Tengye Kikuko, Jiang Chen was like the vast starry sky, full of endless secrets and wonders. She wouldn't miss the chance to connect with him.
She aspired to have powers like Jiang Chen's—able to command storms with just a wave of his hand—such abilities were truly captivating.
Tengye Shi was exasperated, but Tengye Kikuko had already dashed off, leaving him in despair. He still hadn't recovered from last night's events and worried that his daughter’s association with such a formidable figure might ultimately bring trouble upon him.
However, upon reflection, Ichiro Murata was dead now; if he didn’t allow Jiang Chen to intimidate his family against retaliation from the Yagawa Association, they would indeed need someone like him for protection.
After leaving home, Tengye Kikuko found Jiang Chen at a hotel and together they headed to the airport to catch a flight to Hokkaido.
Hokkaido is located north of the Island Nation and is over fourteen hundred kilometers away from Kyoto. It occupies one-fifth of the Island Nation's area but has a sparse population—only half that of Kyoto—making it feel vast and empty. Nonetheless, its unique natural scenery has made it a popular tourist destination, attracting millions of visitors from around the world each year.
After more than two hours, Jiang Chen and Tengye Kikuko arrived at Hokkaido Airport and proceeded towards Mount Buddha.
The shrine of the Eastern Deity is situated within Mount Buddha. This mountain is close to the coast and surrounded by rolling hills; since it was still winter and spring had yet to arrive, the snowy landscape was quite beautiful and drew many tourists.
There were buses from Hokkaido Airport heading to Mount Buddha. Jiang Chen and Tengye Kikuko boarded one of them. The bus was filled not only with Islanders but also many foreigners from Europe and America as well as people of African descent.
"Mr. Jiang, sit here," Tengye Kikuko said as she found a seat for him, showing increasing respect towards him.
