Chapter Seventy-Four: Endurance
No one responded along the way, and Lin Feng hurried straight to the dungeon, gripping the Moon City Sword tightly, filled with murderous intent.
"Last time that Miss Mo ruined my plans. Today, if I see War Maniac, I won't hesitate—I'll kill him on sight."
Upon arriving at the dungeon, however, he found no sign of War Maniac. Lin Feng asked, "Elder Xu, where are the serious offenders?"
"General Wu? Wasn't he taken away?" the jailer replied.
Lin Feng's heart sank immediately, and he angrily demanded, "Who took him? Without my orders, Elder Xu, how dare you release a serious offender? Do you want to die?"
Xu Warden was terrified and quickly knelt down to plead for mercy. "My lord, it's a misunderstanding! It was Miss Mo from the General's Office who took him with the General's decree. She had already informed me."
"Alright, get up."
Fuming, Lin Feng stormed out of the dungeon, troubled in his mind. At least it was Miss Mo who took him; as long as he hadn't fallen into the hands of Breaking Cloud Camp, there was still a chance to kill him.
"It's all that Mo Mo's fault. If she hadn't interfered, War Maniac would have been dead by now."
Lin Feng cursed under his breath as he reached the city gate. The gate of Crossblade Camp had completely collapsed, and even the nearby city wall had a breach. Bloodstains covered the ground, along with swords and arrows left behind in haste.
Seeing all this, Lin Feng realized that a fierce battle had taken place last night, with both sides deploying Armored Soldiers.
Thinking about how his brothers had fought valiantly while he had slept soundly as their leader made Lin Feng uneasy. He imagined his subordinates cursing him for being cowardly.
"It's all that Mo Mo's fault; she truly lives up to her name—always dragging her feet."
At that moment, a figure appeared—it was Chang Long. Upon seeing Lin Feng, Chang Long perked up and opened his sleepy eyes.
"Sir, you are awake," Chang Long said with a bow.
Lin Feng looked at Chang Long, who appeared unscathed, feeling a mix of surprise and relief. He asked, "How did the battle go yesterday?"
With a flush of pride on his face, Chang Long replied, "Reporting to you, sir, under your wise command, our brothers in the Horizontal Blade Camp united as one and successfully repelled the repeated assaults from those lackeys of the Breaking Cloud Camp."
"(You won while I was sleeping?) What were the casualties?" Lin Feng asked skeptically.
"Reporting to you, sir, we lost sixteen men, thirty were seriously injured, and two hundred sustained minor injuries. No one was uninjured."
Hearing this, Lin Feng felt a sense of relief; the losses were not severe, and there was no scene of bloodshed. He then said, "Tell the brothers that the Breaking Cloud Camp consists of elite soldiers. We have many new recruits and do not have an advantage in numbers. It is normal for us to lose. Just then, Lindor woke up and stepped out of the house. Seeing him, Chang Long called out, "Lin Brother, since you commanded last night's battle, why don't you explain it to the sir in detail?"
"Sir, it's like this."
Lindor gathered his spirits and began recounting the details of last night's battle.
Later, when Breaking Cloud Camp was determined to not let anyone escape, they took serious action. Armed with weapons, they began their assault on the city. Due to Lin Feng's disappearance, Horizontal Blade Camp had no one to command them, and the soldiers of Horizontal Blade Camp collapsed as soon as they engaged.
Although the people from Breaking Cloud Camp were armed, they did not dare to kill indiscriminately. Once they rushed into the city, they started rummaging around in search of War Maniac. Seeing the audacity of Breaking Cloud Camp, the Armored Soldiers of Horizontal Blade Camp moved out without receiving any orders. "I had just come out of the dungeon when I saw the Armored Soldiers from Breaking Cloud Camp crashing through the city wall and charging at us. I thought to myself, this is it. In that moment of crisis, Miss Mo suddenly appeared. She asked everyone to step back and not panic."
"When did I ask that girl Mo Mo to take action? It seems this Miss Mo has a lot of tricks up her sleeve and is not trustworthy at all. Truly insidious warfare; one cannot judge a person by their appearance," Lin Feng cursed again.
Upon hearing this, Chang Long straightened his face and said, "Sir, Miss Mo risked her life to save everyone; how can you speak about her like that?"
"Damn it, are you actually defending that girl? She really knows how to use her charms to manipulate people," Lin Feng thought to himself, still brooding over how she had bewildered him earlier. He sighed and said, "You can't truly know a person’s heart by their face; you all don't understand this. Fine, continue. What did that girl Mo Mo do afterward?"
"Yes, sir."
Chang Long spoke with immense admiration: "To be honest, I also don't know what Miss Mo did. When we saw the Armored Soldiers from Breaking Cloud Camp charging in, our people were so frightened that they retreated in droves. Only Miss Mo charged forward alone. Honestly, no one clearly saw how she got past; she suddenly appeared right in front of the Armored Soldiers from Breaking Cloud Camp."
"I knew she was one of General's people and couldn't be harmed in the slightest. I rushed forward, shouting, 'Miss Mo, run! It's dangerous, hurry!'"

Then Miss Mo shouted "Break!" The hundred Armored Soldiers from Breaking Cloud Camp fell to the ground as if they were dead drunk. When we approached them, they had no strength to fight back at all. We easily stripped off their Xuanjia.
Seeing the Armored Soldiers in disarray, the people from Breaking Cloud Camp dropped their helmets and armor and fled.
Hearing all this, Lin Feng suddenly recalled that night when Mo Mo was in the dungeon: I was guarding the camp; you can sleep soundly.

Though Lindor said this, he exchanged a glance with Chang Long and couldn’t help but cover his mouth with a laugh.
Seeing their strange laughter, Lin Feng felt there was something he didn’t know. He pressed on, "What’s going on?"
"My lord, don’t worry; we will keep it a secret. You don’t need to test us," Lindor immediately replied, wiping the smile off his face.
“Lindor, do you want to die?” Lin Feng pulled out the Moon City Sword directly.
Lindor, feeling cornered, could only reply honestly, “Miss Mo later came with us. She was deeply focused on her cultivation at the time, and the master went to her residence to ask for her help. Miss Mo's task was only to protect the master and convey the General's orders; she couldn't get involved in other fighting matters.”

Lin Feng was taken aback for a moment, then his anger surged to its peak as he roared explosively, “Mo Mo, you dead witch, I’ll remember you for this. If I don’t take revenge for this grudge, I won’t share your surname.”
