Chapter 118: The Impossible
Fang Shan, the leader of the Qingshan Gang, understood that time was extremely precious for him at this moment. He looked at Lin Feng and made one last attempt to persuade him, "Boss, can you stay out of our business?"
"Of course I can. I never intended to stir up trouble. Besides, my noodles are selling quite well today. My desire has been fulfilled," Lin Feng replied as he sat down, adopting a posture of watching the show.
"Boss, you truly are a young hero. No wonder you've reached the initial stage of Fate Realization at such a young age."
Fang Shan smiled with satisfaction and continued, "If any furniture gets damaged during this, I will compensate you a hundredfold. Furthermore, once I eliminate this person, I will be the master here. I will exempt you from rent for life."
Upon hearing about the rent exemption, Lin Feng revealed his white teeth and felt quite pleased. "That condition is very tempting. Especially for someone like me who started from scratch and has a struggling new business; it would undoubtedly be a tremendous support."
"Since Boss agrees..."
"Hold on, Leader. Let me finish my words first. However, my shop was smashed to pieces on just the third day of opening; it's truly inauspicious. In business, we seek good fortune. Only with good fortune can we make money. So, I kindly ask everyone to step outside and fight. The door of my shop has already been broken; my mood is already quite poor," Lin Feng said with a frown.
"You bastard, are you deliberately mocking me?"
The fat man pointed angrily at Lin Feng and then turned to Fang Shan, saying, "Boss, this guy is too much; we might as well kill him together."
"Who was just talking big?" Lin Feng stood up and took a step toward the fat man.
"It was me! What about it? You little brat think you can act tough? Have you been weaned yet?"
The fat man pounded his chest loudly. Seeing Lin Feng approach, he deliberately walked forward.
For a Walker, the area within ten feet in front was a forbidden zone. As Lin Feng closed the distance beyond that ten feet mark, an icy chill emanated from him, and an overwhelming power radiated from his body.
"Not good, Third Brother, retreat!" Fang Shan shouted as he sensed the danger.
But it was too late. Lin Feng concentrated his Vital Energy into his fists and swung them like a storm towards the hefty man.
The hefty man, unfazed, scoffed, "You want to compete with me in physical strength? You're asking for death."
He practiced a Martial Arts Technique that reinforced his body, giving him Physical Strength far superior to that of any Foundation-level Walker. He deliberately allowed Lin Feng to approach, wanting to draw him into his one-yard danger zone.
With a roar, the hefty man swung his massive fist towards Lin Feng's punch.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang...
In an instant, their fists collided dozens of times in mid-air, the sound of their powerful impacts echoing around them.
This was the first time Lin Feng encountered someone with decent Physical Strength who could withstand his close-range attacks. He couldn't help but say, "So you were intentionally letting me get close."
"Kid, now you know your place. Today, I'll teach you how to behave," the hefty man boasted. Yet inside, he felt a twinge of fear. He never expected this kid's Physical Strength to be on par with his own. It was utterly unbelievable. He had thought he could crush Lin Feng's arms in just a few blows.
"Your mouth is foul; you must have eaten something terrible before coming out. I'm in a good mood today, so I'll wipe that mouth for you," Lin Feng retorted as he suddenly intensified his assault. Without hesitation, he gathered all his Vital Energy into his fists. Each punch carried immense force, striking the hefty man and causing him excruciating pain in his hands.
Before long, Lin Feng broke through the hefty man's fist defense and landed a powerful blow right on his mouth.
The fat man let out a painful scream, akin to that of a slaughtered pig, losing all chance to defend himself, like a wooden post enduring Lin Feng's fierce blows.
This time, Lin Feng did not intend to kill. By the time he stopped, the fat man was already dazed on the ground, covered in blood. His mouth was particularly gruesome, a bloody mess that was horrifying to behold.
"Third Brother..." the second-in-command of the Qingshan Gang hurried over to help the fat man up.
Fang Shan glared at Lin Feng with intense murderous intent, cracking his knuckles as he said, "No matter your background today, I will break both your arms."
Lin Feng didn't even glance at Fang Shan; instead, he looked at Tu Yu, who was eating noodles. "Hey, Boss Fish. I've taken care of one person for you. If you just sit there and do nothing, don't blame me for kicking you out."
Tu Yu set down his noodles and looked at Lin Feng with an approving smile. "How did you know I wasn't injured?"
"Get these flies out of here quickly, or I'll throw you out along with them," Lin Feng replied impatiently.
"No need to trouble the Boss."
Tu Yu stepped outside and shouted, "Fang Shan, weren't you looking to kill me? Come out."
"After I deal with Tu Yu, I'll take your arms for my brother's revenge. You better not run away."
Fang Shan stepped outside with his younger brother and launched a fierce attack on Tu Yu. Facing two opponents alone, Tu Yu struggled but was not in any life-threatening danger. At that moment, if the fat man from the Qingshan Gang were present, Tu Yu would have found it difficult to hold his ground. After nearly half an hour of battle between the two sides, the leader of the Flying Fish Gang arrived and joined forces to defeat Fang Shan and his brother.
The conflict between the two major gangs in Gaojing came to an end. Tu Yu instructed several leaders to return and handle the aftermath before he re-entered Lanzhou Noodle House.
Lin Feng was waiting for Tu Yu's return and immediately said, "The matter is settled. When will you fix my door?"
"Right away," Tu Yu said cheerfully.
"It was Fang Shan earlier. If he wins, I will be exempt from rent for life."
"That statement is already in effect."
"Alright, back to the main topic."
Lin Feng and Tu Yu sat at the same table, and Lin Feng asked seriously, "Why do you want me to take over this noodle shop?"
Upon hearing this, Lin Miaomiao and Magenta looked surprised.
Magenta couldn't help but say, "Young Master, you two already know each other?"
Tu Yu thought for a moment and pointed to the empty space. "It's something that was instructed from above. To be honest, I don't know either."
"Who is 'above'?" Lin Feng asked again.
"Matters from above are naturally not for those below to discuss," Tu Yu replied honestly.
"Then why are you still eating noodles?" Lin Feng inquired.
Tu Yu quickly waved his hand. "I've had enough just to deal with Fang Shan and his two companions. To make you take action, I've eaten more than enough. Just hearing the word 'noodle' makes me want to vomit."
"If you're not eating noodles, then what are you doing sitting here?"
"Today, you're not in the right mood. Come back another day to express your gratitude. Farewell." Tu Yu stood up to leave.
"Don't forget to fix the door."
"Sleep well tonight. This is my territory, and no one dares to disturb you. When you wake up tomorrow, the door will be repaired," Tu Yu promised.
After Tu Yu left, Lin Miaomiao approached Lin Feng and asked, "Why?"
"You know this person, so why not talk to me?"
"He’s the one who encouraged you to open the noodle shop, so why not discuss it with me?"
"You clearly know him, so why pretend not to? It’s frustrating!"
"Why?"
Lin Miaomiao's face was filled with five 'whys' as she looked at Lin Feng, waiting for his response. Magenta also quietly watched Lin Feng, eager to know the reason.
Lin Feng thought for a moment and said, "Miaomiao, I can only say that I'm really not familiar with him. That's why I’m pretending not to know him; I truly don’t want to get involved in this mess. I'm just stalling for time until his reinforcements arrive so that I won't have to take action."
"If you're not familiar with him, then why did you listen to him about opening the noodle shop? That doesn’t make sense," Lin Miaomiao replied, clearly dissatisfied with Lin Feng's answer.
"Right, it doesn’t make sense," Magenta added thoughtfully.
"Go clean your table; otherwise, I'll kick you out," Lin Feng threatened.
"Oh." Magenta could only obediently tidy up the bowls and chopsticks they had finished using.
"I'm sorry, Miaomiao, but I can't. But please believe me," Lin Feng said seriously as he looked at Lin Miaomiao.
Lin Miaomiao gazed at Lin Feng with a serious expression, then suddenly smiled brightly, revealing two dimples. "Alright, I choose to believe you. I hope you can explain it to me later."
"I will," Lin Feng promised.
Solitary Moon Manor, midnight.
At this moment, the night was dark and windy, with a crescent moon hanging in the sky. It was a time when many people had fallen asleep.
A shadow floated into Solitary Moon Manor and silently entered Lu Wushuang's room. He lit a lamp, and the entire room immediately brightened.
"Who?" Lu Wushuang woke from his alertness and grabbed the long sword at his bedside. He saw a figure dressed in black with a masked face.
"Don't be nervous."
The masked figure spoke with a clear voice that sounded youthful. "You like Lin Miaomiao; I'm here to help you."
"Who are you?" Lu Wushuang asked warily, keeping his eyes on the black-clad man.
"All you need to do is tell Princess Jian'an of the Tang Empire exactly what I say to you. Your junior sister will gradually distance herself from Lin Feng and return to your side," the Black-Clad Masked Man said.
"Who exactly are you?" Lu Wushuang asked in a low voice.
The man in black chuckled coldly and said, "If I wanted to kill you, you would already be dead. In a sense, I am like you, yet somewhat different."
"You hate Lin Feng. As for me, I intend to kill Lin Feng."
"If you want to kill him, why come to me?" Lu Wushuang retorted.
"Killing a person with a single strike is nothing compared to slowly destroying someone. Don't you think?" the man in black replied ominously.
Lu Wushuang looked at the man in black with skepticism and asked, "What do you mean?"
"Listen carefully. Make sure to relay every word to Princess Jian'an," he instructed.
After saying this, the Black-Clad Masked Man stepped closer to Lu Wushuang and whispered something. Lu Wushuang listened intently. (To be continued)
