Xunuo began to stuff all the items into the storage bag, but no matter how he tried, the Boundary Stone simply wouldn't fit inside. After pondering for a moment, he stepped out of the Starlight Space and attempted once more, yet still failed to store the Boundary Stone. This left Xunuo puzzled, and after several fruitless attempts, he decided to give up.
Then Xunuo recalled the Storage Ring left by Duan Kong Wo. According to Duan Kong Wo, there should be some treasures within this Storage Ring.
He picked up the Storage Ring, which was made of an unknown material and emitted a faint yellow glow. As he probed with his Divine Sense, spiritual energy flickered into view. The surface of the Storage Ring was engraved with countless inscriptions, appearing profound and mysterious. Compared to it, the storage bag seemed like an ordinary item.
Xunuo felt a surge of excitement and channeled a bit of his power into the ring, intending to delve deeper with his Divine Sense. To his surprise, his Divine Sense was repelled.
After a moment of contemplation, Xunuo poured more power into the Storage Ring and sent his Divine Sense in again, but the ring remained unresponsive.
With a sigh, Xunuo understood why Duan Kong Wo had left a message saying that if one could open it, they should take it. It seemed that opening this Storage Ring required some skill. Although he couldn't open it now, he didn't want to leave it behind. The items inside must be incredibly valuable. Just because he couldn't open it now didn't mean he wouldn't be able to in the future.
Xunuo chuckled to himself and took out the storage bag, aiming it at the ring. He urged his power and drew on his Divine Sense, but the Storage Ring remained still.
This time, Xunuo found it hard to remain calm. He thought to himself that everything left by Duan Kong Wo was extraordinarily peculiar.
The Boundary Stone was one thing; others couldn't touch it and thus wouldn't know its secrets. But this Storage Ring was different—once probed with Divine Sense, its spiritual energy became apparent, clearly indicating it was a treasure. Carrying such an item outside would surely attract trouble.
However, after a moment's thought, he smiled again and in an instant appeared back in the Starlight Space. He placed the Storage Ring on a wooden rack against the wall before turning around and exiting the space.
Finally, Xunuo picked up the jade slip from the White Jade Tooth Bed and read through Duan Kong Wo's notes once more. He focused his Mind Power and erased the previous section of text entirely. Looking further down, he found a section titled "Xuantian Sword Record," detailing sword forging techniques and swordplay incantations.
Xunuo had always excelled in swordplay, but after reading through the Xuantian Sword Record, he felt somewhat confused as it contradicted his understanding of swordsmanship. Moreover, this record primarily focused on forging Flying Swords.
Xunuo realized that if he devoted his efforts to forging weapons, it would come at the cost of his cultivation—a significant deviation from his goals. Thus, he decided to abandon the Xuantian Sword Record for now but acknowledged that any Cultivation Method that caught Duan Kong Wo's attention must be extraordinary. Perhaps his own limited perspective prevented him from seeing its depth or maybe only with greater mastery would he appreciate its benefits.
Although he wouldn't pursue cultivation with it at present, he certainly wouldn't discard the Xuantian Sword Record either; instead, he temporarily stored it in his storage bag.
Having completed all this, Xunuo approached the White Jade Tooth Bed once more.
Xunuo bowed deeply to the skeleton of Duan Kong Wo, silently expressing gratitude for the benefits received, though uncertain if he could fulfill the entrusted task. He vowed that if one day he gained extraordinary abilities, he would not let Duan Kong Wo down.
Turning away, Xunuo walked towards the spiritual spring at the center of the Cave. He stepped into the spring, immersing himself completely in the water to begin another round of cultivation.
Recently, in a mysterious space, Xunuo had activated the Heavenly Shadow Spike, draining a significant portion of his magical power. In this jungle teeming with ferocious beasts, only the Heavenly Shadow Spike offered him some means of self-defense. However, his remaining magical power was insufficient to sustain it for even a moment. Moreover, if he wanted to break through this jungle filled with monsters, he would inevitably have to confront the Pig Demon head-on.
His current plan was to elevate his mastery of the Huayang Classic to a new level, ideally reaching the seventh layer. At the very least, he needed enough strength to activate the Heavenly Shadow Spike to injure his opponent and still have enough energy left to escape.
The Pig Demon was tough-skinned and formidable in magical prowess. Xunuo believed that he had no chance of delivering a fatal blow. However, if he could severely wound the creature with one strike, it might provide an opportunity for escape. This Cave was isolated from the outside world and devoid of sunlight. Time passed without Xunuo realizing how long he had been in seclusion.
One day, Xunuo finally emerged from the spiritual spring. His magical power had doubled compared to before, and his demeanor had undergone a significant transformation; he appeared more composed and profound.
This time, Xunuo had cultivated the Huayang Classic to the sixth layer and spent additional time solidifying his cultivation before exiting. Upon stepping out, he first wanted to test how long his current magical power could sustain the Heavenly Shadow Spike before making further plans.
He tapped his storage bag, and a Heavenly Shadow Spike materialized before him. Pointing at it, Xunuo watched as it vanished like a specter, only to reappear ten zhang away moments later. With another movement of his Divine Sense, the Heavenly Shadow Spike appeared in yet another location. It executed several rapid thrusts like lightning. Afterward, Xunuo's complexion turned pale, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
With a wave of his hand, the Heavenly Shadow Spike returned instantly to hover in front of him. Xunuo stood still for a moment before tapping his storage bag to put it away.
Through this trial with the Heavenly Shadow Spike, Xunuo felt slightly more confident. If he encountered the Pig Demon now, releasing the Heavenly Shadow Spike would at least buy him some time and might even injure it severely. In that case, escaping should be manageable.
However, during this trial, Xunuo also discovered that activating the Heavenly Shadow Spike consumed an enormous amount of magical power. Merely hovering it in place required minimal energy. Yet within such a short span of time, he had depleted most of his internal magical power and was left with barely enough strength to flee—he had no capacity left for counterattack.
Sighing deeply, Xunuo jumped back into the spiritual spring to recover his magical power.
A day later, Xunuo emerged from the spring again. This time he did not test the Heavenly Shadow Spike but instead directed his Divine Sense towards the Boundary Stone. In an instant, he entered the Starlight Space.
Xunuo walked directly to the wooden rack against the wall and eagerly infused his magical power into the Storage Ring. However, after shaking his head lightly in disappointment at yet another failure, he turned around and walked away.
Approaching the Emerald Light Barrier, an idea struck him; he tentatively took a step inside. Instantly, everything brightened before him as Xunuo found himself once again in that enigmatic celestial realm.
Xunuo was cautious this time, releasing his Divine Sense while carefully moving around the White Jade Platform. He was keenly sensing everything around him. What Xunuo wanted to know was the reason for being expelled from this space. Only by understanding this could he freely enter and exit. As for the force that had pushed him out, it was beyond Xunuo's ability to fathom.
He walked slowly on the White Jade Platform until he reached its edge, contemplating whether to enter the forest. Suddenly, an invisible force struck without warning. In the next moment, Xunuo found himself inside the Starlight Space.
Before he could fully comprehend his surroundings, he took a step forward and stepped into the Emerald Light Barrier once again. As expected, he passed through the Emerald Light Barrier and remained within the Starlight Arena.
Although Xunuo felt somewhat frustrated, there was also a sense of anticipation. After a moment's thought, he stepped out of the Starlight Arena.
With a snap of his storage pouch, two Heavenly Shadow Spikes flew out simultaneously. The strange repelling force of that celestial realm left Xunuo perplexed. Having been expelled this time, he had no idea how long it would take before he could re-enter. Now that Xunuo had time, he naturally wanted to become familiar with the Heavenly Shadow Spikes.
It was important to know that when facing powerful opponents like the Pig Demon, even a slight increase in proficiency with the Heavenly Shadow Spike could be a lifesaver. Channeling his mana, Xunuo watched as the two Heavenly Shadow Spikes crossed paths, darting left and right towards a single target in quick succession.
Xunuo furrowed his brow. He positioned both Heavenly Shadow Spikes within ten feet of himself and made them fly rapidly around him. After a moment, he brought them to a stop in front of him, grasping one in each hand while extending his Divine Sense towards both Heavenly Shadow Spikes.
Previously, Xunuo had activated the Heavenly Shadow Spike twice, but it had always been the same one—the one obtained in Qingyang City. Using it felt as natural as moving his own limbs.
Today, however, activating both Heavenly Shadow Spikes at once felt different. While he could still perform actions with them, their responsiveness varied; the one obtained from Clam Spirit Cave lacked some agility compared to the one from Qingyang City.
Both Heavenly Shadow Spikes appeared identical in appearance and material. Yet there was a noticeable difference when activated, leaving Xunuo puzzled.
