The Insect Manipulation Cultivator glanced around, noticing that others seemed indifferent to him, not even offering a word of guidance.
With no choice, he bowed and left, making his way to the Limitless Merchant Alliance. Upon stating his request, the Foundation Stage Cultivator who received him was quite courteous. He immediately instructed his subordinates to take notes and then inquired about the time frame and geographical scope for the bounty.
The Insect Manipulation Cultivator asked what the differences were. The Manager of the Limitless Merchant Alliance explained that the bounty fees depended on both the geographical range and the duration. For all Cultivator settlements within a thousand miles, issuing this Bounty Notice would cost one Mid-Grade Spirit Stone per day. If the range were to be expanded to two thousand miles, the fee would not simply double; it would be ten Mid-Grade Spirit Stones per day.
Not allowing him to continue, the Insect Manipulation Cultivator excused himself upon hearing this. Although he intended to leverage local forces to find Xunuo, he was short on resources. Moreover, several days had passed since the incident, and he believed Xunuo had already fled far away. Thus, upon hearing that issuing a Bounty Notice for two thousand miles would cost ten Mid-Grade Spirit Stones daily, he had no choice but to abandon the idea.
However, he couldn't give up entirely. After returning to his residence, he sent a high-level Sound Transmission Talisman to his Sect, detailing the situation and patiently awaited their instructions.
Meanwhile, Xunuo was comfortably situated within a Defensive Array. After two days, he fully restored his mana and refined two newly acquired magical artifacts using his Divine Sense. Only then did he inject a Great Illusion Concealment Talisman into himself and deactivate the Defensive Array before slowly making his way towards Youzhou Ancient City.
The two new artifacts were relics from an Ancestor of a Cultivation Family: a Golden Glimmering Flying Sword and a Radiant Shield. From their refining materials, they appeared to be identical and possibly crafted by the same Refiner.
Xunuo was particularly pleased that both artifacts were metallic in nature, perfectly aligning with his Spiritual Root attributes. After refining them, they responded with exceptional agility. Although Xunuo had lost the Heaven and Earth Four Killing Formation, he had gained two sharp artifacts in return—an unexpected gain from a loss.
Especially notable was the Flying Sword, which was incredibly sharp and comparable to the Supreme Magical Artifact Water Attribute Flying Sword that Qi Zilan had deceived him out of. However, he felt less confident about the Shield Artifact since it clearly lacked materials for Thunder Law defense.
During his battle with the Insect Manipulation Cultivator, Xunuo realized deeply that a Defensive Artifact missing comprehensive functionality or possessing only singular capabilities was flawed. Thus, he remained hopeful about refining a fully functional Defensive Artifact.
Xunuo proceeded cautiously. As the effects of the Great Illusion Concealment Talisman began to wane, he set up a Defensive Array for meditation and cultivation. During this time, he also organized over ten storage bags he had obtained. The greatest haul was in spirit stones; together with those from both individuals involved, there were over one hundred fifty Mid-Grade Spirit Stones and thousands of Low-Grade Spirit Stones. This sudden wealth made Xunuo feel incredibly rich.
The most unexpected acquisition was a small bottle of Heavenly Fragrance Jade Dew. It turned out that this item had been purchased by Ni Bingmo. Now that it had become a wedding dress, it benefited Xunuo.
In addition, there were various refining tools and several Alchemy materials. Among them, Xunuo even discovered a piece of extremely precious Refining Materials that could resist Thunder energy. Unfortunately, this piece of Refining Materials was incompatible with the properties of the Ironclad Mountain Beast's Demon Beast Materials. They could not be fused together; otherwise, using this material would enhance the resistance against Thunder Law even more.
There were also numerous Intermediate Talismans, and Xunuo even found over ten Advanced Talismans. Youzhou Ancient City was the capital of the Ancient Kingdom of Youguan and a renowned cultivation city in the central lands. The city was divided into two parts: the celestial and mortal realms, with the area inhabited by cultivators known as Yuzhou Celestial City.
Upon arriving at Youzhou Ancient City, Xunuo couldn't help but marvel. This was his first time seeing two cities that could be viewed from both realms. The mortal-inhabited Youzhou Ancient City was already vast and prosperous, nearly comparable to Gaoyi City.
To the east of Youzhou Ancient City stood an enormous mountain peak that pierced the clouds. Its immense height was unfathomable. Layer upon layer of pavilions and palaces were built up from the base to the summit. Concerned that Insect Path might extend its reach here, Xunuo adopted the alias Lu Zaisheng and struck up a conversation with them. He learned about the origins of Yuzhou Celestial City.
It turned out that Yuzhou Celestial City was an estate belonging to a Cultivation Sect called Taiyi Sect. After claiming this mountainous area, they did not relocate their entire sect here but instead used it as a separate estate for rental purposes.
Beneath the Giant Peak lies a significant Spiritual Vein, secured by the Taiyi Sect with a formation that continuously supplies spiritual energy to the mountain. This has caused the entire peak to be infused with abundant spiritual power and an ethereal aura.
As a result, the Giant Peak has become a blessed land for Loose Cultivators and several Cultivation Families. Countless Cultivators rent Caves and courtyards here to enter secluded cultivation. Some Cultivation Families have even relocated their entire clans, leasing vast areas of the mountain for generations, directly developing their family enterprises on its slopes. Traveling with Xunuo are several young disciples from a Cultivation Family, who are often stationed in Youzhou City. The three of them are on an outing to broaden their horizons, visiting various Cultivation Families and exchanging spells.
There is a distinction between the outings of Cultivation Family disciples and those of Loose Cultivators. Loose Cultivators must prepare thoroughly for each expedition, often risking everything for a single journey. Each outing could potentially be their last, and the odds of that happening are quite high.
In contrast, young disciples from Cultivation Families usually travel in groups. Their destinations are often fixed, focusing on friendly Cultivation Families. While they call it an outing for training, to Xunuo, it sounds more like visiting relatives and friends.
The three companions are around the same age as Xunuo, but their magical powers all exceed the first layer. Traveling alongside Xunuo, an Eleventh Layer Cultivator, they feel neither nervous nor out of place; instead, they engage in lively conversation. When discussing battles with other Cultivation Family disciples, their excitement is palpable.
