The Purple Sun Fiery Valley is divided into three layers. This division is not based on vertical levels or underground entrances, but rather on the proximity to the Fire Pool. Overall, the Purple Sun Fiery Valley has a gourd-like shape. The entrance is narrow, but once through, it opens up into a vast and scorching space. There are three such spaces in total, connected by narrow passages. At the deepest part of the valley lies a magma Fire Pool, which is the source of the Spiritual Veins here and, of course, the origin of Fire Poison.
Flying is not permitted in the Purple Sun Fiery Valley, not due to any anti-flight laws, but because fierce beasts roam freely here. A Cultivator flying in the air would be like a target, constantly at risk of ambush. Moreover, those hidden within the valley would eagerly await unsuspecting Loose Cultivators to fly by and meet their demise.
As Xunuo entered the Mountain Valley, he cast a movement Spell and rushed directly toward the second layer. This Spell could not allow him to fly above ground but significantly increased his running speed, making him more than twice as fast as a galloping horse.
Regarding the beasts in the first layer, Xunuo was not overly concerned. This layer mostly contained first-level monsters, with second-level monsters rarely appearing. Although the Fire Spirit Power here is abundant, the heat remains within a range that most Cultivators can endure. The Fire Poison is thin enough that a Magic Shield can keep it at bay. Thus, this area also serves as a hunting ground for Loose Cultivators seeking Fire Attribute materials and hunting beasts.
Xunuo dashed forward, his Divine Sense fully unleashed, causing many Loose Cultivators along the way to avoid him. Most of those active here were low-level Cultivators; upon seeing Xunuo, a master of Eleven Layers, they naturally kept their distance. However, Xunuo's mood remained tense.
Two days later, Xunuo stopped in an open area, turning around with his hands clasped behind his back as if waiting for something. During these two days, he had taken countless detours to shake off several Evil Cultivators trailing him. Xunuo anticipated that as a Loose Cultivator venturing alone into the Purple Sun Fiery Valley, he would undoubtedly be targeted. Therefore, he deliberately wandered aimlessly within the valley. However, two Cultivators seemed to have used some means to follow him persistently. Realizing he could not shake them off, Xunuo decided it was pointless to continue evading and resolved to deal with this trouble right here; he certainly would not leave it unresolved.
The two who followed Xunuo were both Eleventh Layer Cultivators. If he faced one alone, he felt somewhat confident; however, facing two of the same level made him cautious. Besides, Xunuo was inherently prudent; if there was a chance to outsmart or use tactics instead of brute force, he would never engage recklessly. While waiting for them to approach, Xunuo had already set up two formations in secret; whether they would fall into his trap was beyond his control.
After a moment, the two Eleventh Layer Cultivators cautiously approached Xunuo while casting Spells to probe ahead, clearly experienced in this area. Upon seeing this, Xunuo realized that his efforts had been in vain; these two were likely even more adept at ambushing others than he was and would not fall for any tricks easily. Nevertheless, since he had set up trapping formations meant to ensnare them, even if they did not work during combat, his safety was assured. This thought provided Xunuo with some reassurance.
One of them was stout and dark-skinned while the other was tall and robust. They unleashed spells one after another with considerable force. When they reached close enough to Xunuo to confirm their safety, they exchanged grins with him. The Black Fat Cultivator sneered and said, "Why aren't you running? Where do you think you can escape to?"
"How did you track me down?" Xunuo ignored the Black Fat Cultivator's provocation and instead voiced his concern first.
The Black Fat Cultivator laughed maniacally and replied, "As long as you're in this valley, don't think you can escape my tracking."
The Robust Cultivator was busy chatting with the Black Fat Cultivator. The Black Fat Cultivator waved his hand and said, "It's fine to talk, but do you really think he can leave this place alive?" He then turned to Xunuo and added, "As long as you possess that map, escaping from our watch is impossible."
Upon hearing this, Xunuo realized that he had been set up when he procured the map. He couldn't help but curse the innkeeper of that shop in his mind.
Seeing no way to lure these two Evil Cultivators into a trap and understanding the reason for being followed, Xunuo decided against any further attempts at deception.
The Black Fat Cultivator let out a sinister laugh and, in the blink of an eye, summoned two magical artifacts. One was a shield engulfed in Blue Flame that instantly appeared in front of him, while the other was a Crimson Fire Whip over three yards long, which he swung towards Xunuo's Flying Sword. As soon as the Crimson Fire Whip left his hand, it transformed into a Purple Scale Python, rolling towards the Flying Sword.
When the two artifacts collided, Xunuo frowned. The Crimson Fire Whip was of extremely high quality; it was likely stronger than his own Flame Fork. Moreover, this Black Fat Cultivator had profound magical power, making the whip incredibly agile and powerful. Xunuo's Flying Sword was pushed back repeatedly. Meanwhile, he noticed that his Bronze Cymbals Artifact was evenly matched against another Slim Cultivator.
The Slim Cultivator wielded a Square Eight-Faced Golden Hammer, which whistled through the air as it struck towards Xunuo's Bronze Cymbals Artifact. The Bronze Cymbal spun rapidly and collided with the Square Eight-Faced Golden Hammer. With a loud clang, both artifacts were momentarily halted before flying back. This Bronze Cymbals Artifact, which Xunuo had previously underestimated, surprised him.
Xunuo let out a quiet sigh of relief. He glanced between the two Cultivators—one fat and one slim—and decided on his target for a sneak attack.
Xunuo did not immediately summon his most powerful Flame Fork because he knew that relying solely on magical artifacts would not yield quick results. Engaging in prolonged battles was not his strength; it could even be a fatal flaw. However, Xunuo possessed an advantage that ordinary Cultivators could hardly match: his Divine Sense was formidable.
Not only was Xunuo's Divine Sense strong in terms of Mind Power, but he also excelled at controlling it. For instance, at this moment, these two Evil Cultivators had only summoned one offensive and one defensive artifact each; they could not deploy more due to limitations imposed by their Divine Sense. In such a rapidly changing battle scenario, even a minor mistake could lead to failure—especially in defense.
Meanwhile, seeing Xunuo summon two offensive artifacts to attack them both simultaneously led the Evil Cultivators to believe that he had maximized his Divine Sense.
Initially, Xunuo aimed to ambush the Black Fat Cultivator because this opponent exuded a sense of extreme danger due to his deeper cultivation level. However, when the Black Fat Cultivator summoned two Supreme Magical Artifacts at once, Xunuo quickly changed his mind. These two artifacts were immensely powerful; particularly the Blue Flame Shield radiated scorching heat and seemed to be an all-attribute Defensive Artifact. This made it difficult for Xunuo to utilize some of his strategies effectively. Although the Slim Cultivator also summoned a shield-like Defensive Artifact, it appeared flimsy compared to what Xunuo perceived as an all-attribute Defensive Artifact.
At this moment, Xunuo's Bronze Cymbal and the Slim Cultivator's Square Eight-Faced Golden Hammer were still locked in an intense struggle. Meanwhile, Xunuo's Fire Attribute Flying Sword was ensnared by the Black Fat Cultivator's Crimson Fire Whip and was rolling helplessly in mid-air; it seemed unable to break free from the grip of the Purple Scale Python formed by the whip.
Seeing this situation unfold made Xunuo's eyes light up. He tightened his left hand slightly while extending his right palm towards the Slim Cultivator in a grabbing motion. Following this, he slapped his storage bag with his left hand; a burst of fire shot out while he executed several hand seals with his right hand. Among all these actions, only that burst of fire drew attention from his opponent.
However, at that moment, vines suddenly erupted from the ground and bound the Slim Cultivator's legs. Startled but unfazed, the Slim Cultivator thought it pointless to use Wood Magic against a Fire Root Cultivator like Xunuo. Suddenly engulfed in flames that seemed almost sentient, he directed them towards the vines below him, instantly incinerating them into charred remnants.
However, at this moment, the true value of Xunuo's Vine Binding Spell became apparent. The Slim Cultivator's fierce flames instantly incinerated the climbing vines, yet the vines continued to thrive, regenerating at a speed that was not even slightly slower than their destruction. The tall, thin elder was genuinely alarmed; this spell that trapped him would not harm him directly. However, being confined in place was far from simple.
The Slim Cultivator suddenly looked up and saw a thunderous blue Thunder Ball, the size of a copper basin, silently approaching him. His heart raced as he instinctively pushed forward with both hands, summoning a dazzling Shield Artifact to collide with Yimu Qinglei. Just as Xunuo had anticipated, the Slim Cultivator's Golden Shield Artifact not only lacked the ability to defend against Thunder Law but also struggled to withstand attacks of water and wood attributes.
This artifact was specifically tailored to counter the characteristics of Azure Sun Fiery Demon Cultivators; it had decent defense against fire attribute spells but was severely lacking against spells of other attributes. The Yimu Qinglei collided with the Golden Shield Artifact, resulting in a tremendous explosion that scattered electric sparks and caused the void to tremble. In the next moment, as the sparks dissipated, the Slim Cultivator stood there in tattered clothes and covered in wounds, his face charred black and eyes blankly staring at the shattered pieces of his Golden Shield. Clearly, he had not yet recovered from the lightning strike.
But Xunuo did not care about his feelings; he was determined to deliver a fatal blow. As the thunderstorm subsided, the Flame Fork flashed forward for a strike. The Slim Cultivator's eyes were still dazed, and by the time he reacted, all he could do was let out a startled "Ah."
In that critical moment, however, a Purple Scale Python seemed to teleport over and crashed into the Flame Fork. The impact sent the Flame Fork flying backward, while the Purple Scale Python also appeared severely injured, curling up and rolling several feet away.
The Slim Cultivator broke into a cold sweat; he had just relaxed and was about to unleash a thunderous attack to completely eradicate the increasingly entangling vines. Suddenly, he heard a cracking sound, followed by an eerie silence enveloping the world around him. A massive wind blade sliced through him at the waist, severing him in two.
