At that moment, the rustling sound grew louder, and the Six Princess finally heard it. Her body stiffened suddenly as she turned her head, her eyes widening in shock, pupils constricting sharply. Her face turned pale, as if all the blood had drained away, filled with terror.
Countless snakes surged from all directions, slithering forward with their cold scales glinting eerily in the sunlight, resembling countless gleaming daggers. They hissed as they flicked their tongues, the sound intertwining like a curse from hell, chilling to the bone. Each hiss felt like a summons from death itself.
The Six Princess was terrified, her complexion fading, lips trembling, her body shaking uncontrollably as she could no longer maintain her gentle and composed facade.
It was as if all her strength had been drained away. Suddenly, she let out a piercing scream that shattered the air like a sharp whistle, echoing through the mountains and startling the birds in the trees.
Staggering like someone intoxicated, she stumbled toward Lu Mingzhan, her hands flailing in the air as if he were her only lifeline at that moment. Her eyes were filled with helplessness.
Lu Mingzhan was not much better off. Seeing this scene felt like being struck by lightning; he stood frozen in place, his mind blank for a long while before he could react.
When the Six Princess fearfully collided against him and her deafening scream assaulted his eardrums, he snapped back to reality and began to scream in panic: “Help! Help me!”
His voice cracked, turning sharp and hoarse, filled with despair like a drowning person making one last struggle.
The countless snakes seemed to have locked onto them, pursuing them relentlessly.
The Six Princess fled in a panic, glancing around wildly. Suddenly, she spotted Yun Qingyu, who appeared calm and leisurely. A flash of malice crossed her eyes as she ground her teeth together.
But fear dominated her heart at that moment; she could only shout loudly: “Sister Seven, save me!”
With that, she recklessly ran toward Yun Qingyu, arms outstretched in desperation to grab hold of her. The urgency of her movements was frantic; her eyes were wild as if she intended to use Yun Qingyu as a shield.
Yun Qingyu had long been prepared. She gracefully sidestepped, her steps light as she deftly avoided the touch of the Six Princess.
With a mocking gaze fixed on the Six Princess, a cold smile curled at the corners of her lips, filled with disdain. "Did you miscalculate again?"
The Six Princess was terrified, her soul nearly leaving her body, confusion etched across her face as her eyes widened, bloodshot and frantic.
She realized that even standing right next to Yun Qingyu, the snakes seemed blind to her presence, completely ignoring Yun Qingyu and surging toward her and Lu Mingzhan instead.
In a panic, she shouted, "Why is this happening? Those snakes were clearly coming for Yun Qingyu! Why are they all acting like they're blind? Yun Qingyu is unharmed while the snakes are avoiding her!"
As she yelled and jumped, trying to evade the approaching snakes, Yun Qingyu continued her descent down the mountain with calm steps. Without looking back, she simply smiled faintly. "I hope you remember this little lesson well."
With that, she snapped her fingers, and instantly, the snakes around them became even more aggressive. They writhed wildly as if enraged, charging toward the Six Princess and Lu Mingzhan with increased ferocity.
Yun Qingyu's voice echoed behind them: "Have fun!"
The tone was laced with mockery and indifference, leaving the Six Princess and Lu Mingzhan engulfed in despair, their eyes filled with fear and hopelessness.
