The world of Huang Xishi is actually quite simple. To her, the matters at hand are merely a distinction between right and wrong.
Iron Youfang made three mistakes: first, he snatched the Phoenix Hairpin; second, he spoke disrespectfully to Feng Miaomiao; and third, he acted against his junior sister, which was a grave error. Any of these points was already clear to her, not to mention all three.
The aura of the Virtual Realm Cultivator surrounded her, making her appear even more ethereal. At that moment, Feng Miaomiao looked at her senior sister in surprise, wondering when her temper had become even more explosive than her own.
However, since her senior sister had started the fight, she had no reason not to join in on the excitement. After all, if their master were to blame them later, her senior sister would take the heat.
Just as Iron Youfang and his group were still in shock over Huang Xishi's Realm, an incredibly powerful aura erupted around them. The cause was simple: Feng Miaomiao had just entered the Void Realm and lacked mastery over her aura compared to Huang Xishi's effortless demeanor.
"Void. Void. Void Realm!" At this point, Iron Youfang was completely at a loss for words. If he still didn't realize he had hit a brick wall, it would be better for him to just crash into something and end it all.
"Get lost." A highly insulting word escaped from Huang Xishi's lips.
At that moment, Iron Youfang felt he had never heard such a beautiful voice before. He hurriedly led his guards away in defeat, not forgetting to return the Phoenix Hairpin to Old Yu before leaving. That was something the other party had set their sights on; if he accidentally took it away, who knew if those two stunning women with extraordinary strength would come after him?
As for the reclaimed Phoenix Hairpin, Feng Miaomiao played with it joyfully in her hands. This hairpin symbolized good fortune—like a phoenix soaring high. Old Yu never expected these two delicate-looking women would possess such formidable power. He had been reluctant to accept their money until Feng Miaomiao pretended to be angry and forced him to take it.
After this incident, Feng Miaomiao lost interest in strolling around the streets; it was still early in the day. So she and Huang Xishi decided to find a restaurant to pass the time. Additionally, Feng Miaomiao's craving for alcohol began to stir.
Huang Xishi enjoyed tea, while Feng Miaomiao preferred wine—this was well-known among many.
Outer Building.
It was considered the best restaurant in Dafang City and ranked among the top on Military Star as well. The most famous drink there was "Flying Immortal," made from local herbs unique to Military Star and renowned far and wide.
With the influx of external Cultivators, Outer Building welcomed them but also felt a bit of a headache. The reason was that their "Flying Immortal" wine was so famous that every Cultivator who could enter the restaurant would order it.
Originally, they could manage supply for local Cultivators' consumption without issue. However, with so many outsiders arriving—many of whom were wealthy enough to overshadow most of the tycoons on Military Star—the demand skyrocketed.
The "Flying Immortal" wine became scarcer by the day, yet those external Cultivators insisted on ordering it, which left him at his wit's end; they simply couldn't keep up with supply.
Several local Cultivators had already issued warnings, either openly or subtly, for not having tasted this wine, yet they could not afford to offend the foreign Cultivator.
At this moment, Zuo Dao had arrived at Military Star, seated in a private booth of the Outer Building, savoring the wine that was said to be the finest in the military.
As he drank, he thought of the Drunken Old Man. If he knew such exquisite wine was here, he certainly wouldn't let it pass! Perhaps he should take some back for him to taste.
The booth by the window allowed guests to overlook much of the cityscape, and the earlier scene had also caught his eye.
Xi Shi, you have finally appeared.
Watching the slender figure, Zuo Dao couldn't help but be entranced.
Huang Xishi was walking with Feng Miaomiao on their way to the Outer Building when she suddenly felt a familiar gaze upon her. She looked up in the direction of that feeling.
That glance seemed to transcend countless spaces.
It felt as if it had captured a thousand years.
It cut through myriad waves and shattered layers of ice.
Huang Xishi finally saw that person, who was also gazing back at her.
In an instant, the surrounding noise vanished without a trace, and the bustling crowd faded into nothingness.
At that moment, in Huang Xishi's eyes, there was only the man in white, who smiled at her.
What a familiar feeling! What a warm sensation!
Feng Miaomiao, walking ahead, suddenly sensed something was off. She turned back and found Huang Xishi standing dazed in the middle of the road, staring in one direction. Her expression was so focused, her eyes revealing infinite tenderness.
In an instant, she thought of something ominous. Following Huang Xishi's gaze, she saw a man in white in the distance, gazing affectionately at Huang Xishi.
A moment felt like eternity.
Between Huang Xishi and Zuo Dao, there was no longer any distance of space or time; both felt as if the other was right beside them.
This scene felt strangely familiar.
Huang Xishi didn't know how she ended up at the Outer Building. It was only when Feng Miaomiao led her to stand before Zuo Dao that she realized everything was not an illusion; it was all real. The figure that had appeared countless times in her mind now stood alive before her.
"You two know each other?" Feng Miaomiao asked after realizing this, bringing Huang Xishi to Zuo Dao's private booth. Seeing the expressions on their faces, she couldn't help but inquire.
"I know her."
"I don't know him."
When two completely contradictory answers appeared before her, Feng Miaomiao suddenly felt foolish and naive.
Perhaps realizing the inconsistency in his words, Zuo Dao explained first.
"I have known Huang Xishi for a long time. She just doesn't know I exist."
"I don't know him, but I know he must have known about me for a long time," Huang Xishi's response further left Feng Miaomiao feeling overwhelmed.
"Alright, you both are impressive. No matter what your relationship is, Da Huang'er, you are my senior sister, and you," she said, turning to Zuo Dao, "if you want to be my brother-in-law, that's fine too. Come on, bribe me."
Since you two are playing with fate in front of me, I'll play with reality.
Feng Miaomiao clearly understood that if Huang Xishi had no impression of the other party, she would never easily meet him. How many proud sons of the Great Star Domain had approached her only to leave empty-handed? Now that it was Huang Xishi herself who had come forward, if there wasn't something more between them, she wouldn't believe it even if someone killed her.
Zuo Dao thought about how their once master-disciple relationship had transformed into that of sisters. Memories of Feng Miaomiao and Tai Shu Yun chasing after a husband flooded her mind, causing a smile to once again grace her lips.
"Don't worry, I will give you everything you desire. Your share will definitely not be less," she said, looking at Huang Xishi, but her words were directed at Feng Miaomiao.
"Feng Er, stop being mischievous. Do you really need that little thing? Master’s treasures are almost all tricked out of me by you," Huang Xishi remarked, her gaze fixed on Zuo Dao but aimed at Feng Miaomiao.
Watching the two of them, Feng Miaomiao couldn't help but slap her beautiful and smooth forehead.
"Ah, ah, I don't know if I'm going crazy or if this world is crazy. Can't you both focus on me a little? At least look at each other when you talk!"
"Are you more beautiful than Xi Shi?" Zuo Dao felt it was enough; if this continued, the atmosphere would become awkward.
"Sit down, my dear Phoenix. There’s Flying Immortal here; don’t you want to give it a try?"
Huang Xishi also withdrew her gaze and obediently sat down beside them, gently lifting her veil.
It was that familiar face, still possessing those clear eyes like autumn waters.
Seeing that the two were about to fall back into their lovey-dovey state, Feng Miaomiao quickly stood up to interrupt.
"Let’s drink! This is the best wine from Military Star!"
"Alright, take your time drinking," two voices echoed in her ears, both saying the same thing.
Feng Miaomiao realized that there was no saving them now, so she decided to ignore the two and focused on satisfying her own thirst for wine. However, every so often, she would sneak a glance at the situation between them.
"Who are you? Why do I feel so familiar with you? And why do you appear in my mind?" Huang Xishi seemed to have countless questions she wanted to clarify with him.
"I am Zuo Dao; we were once lovers."
Hearing this, Feng Miaomiao, who was drinking nearby, almost choked on her drink.
"Were we really lovers once? No wonder I feel so familiar with you." This thought sent Feng Miaomiao into a complete rage.
She was magnificently ignored by the two.
With a loud bang, they were pulled back to reality, only to see Feng Miaomiao sitting there, puffed up and silent, continuously drinking Flying Immortal wine.
At that moment, Huang Xishi realized that Feng Miaomiao was also a grown woman. It was a bit inappropriate for the two of them to act like this; no wonder Feng Miaomiao was angry.
However, compared to the heartfelt emotions from Zuo Dao, she still chose to ignore Feng Miaomiao. Nevertheless, Zuo Dao tried to ease the atmosphere and started chatting with Feng Miaomiao. Huang Xishi had nothing to say, merely sitting quietly beside them and listening. Occasionally, she would chime in, and eventually, the three of them developed a tacit understanding and got to know each other better.
More importantly, Huang Xishi learned more about Zuo Dao. When Zuo Dao recounted events from the Great Dream Mirror, both women gasped in disbelief at how incredible it all sounded. Of course, Zuo Dao said nothing about what happened inside the Starry Sky Vessel; bringing that up would be asking for trouble.
Zuo Dao also prepared Spiritual Tea for Huang Xishi. Given Zuo Dao's attentiveness, Feng Miaomiao could only sigh from the sidelines, even insisting that Huang Xishi share Zuo Dao with her. The two women shook their heads at this; only someone as straightforward and loyal as her could make them feel completely at ease.
The three enjoyed each other's company. Zuo Dao occasionally shared anecdotes from his travels to elicit smiles from the two women while recounting beautiful love stories from his past that brought tears to their eyes.
Not only did the bond between Zuo Dao and Huang Xishi intensify, but even Feng Miaomiao's gaze towards Zuo Dao changed. Zuo Dao remained oblivious to this shift, but Huang Xishi noticed it secretly.
Regarding the Supreme Academy matter, their resolve was unprecedentedly strong; they had come for this very reason. Upon hearing that Zuo Dao would also participate in the assessment, their joy increased even more. The three set off together, unaware of what kind of road lay ahead of them!
