At night, Miller was covered in blood, staggering to sit by Renee's bed, his cold fingers caressing her cheek.
Renee opened her eyes, her mind blank, and seeing him in this ghostly state, she came to her senses and covered her ears, screaming, "No! Don't eat me!"
"I'm dying, Renee..." Miller looked at her weakly and affectionately, his fingers wanting to reach out but seemingly afraid to touch.
Renee became even more frightened, punching and kicking him: "No! Don't eat me! My blood is very bitter and cannot restore your strength!"
Miller was stunned for a moment, then his face gradually darkened: "..."
Terry suffered the next day, and when he was called by the head of the family, he still had injuries on his body, forcing a smile.
Miller sat in the main seat, hands crossed on the table, with a cold expression: "Let's try a different approach."
The next day, Renee was taken out by the maid to bask in the sun. The warm sunlight finally made her relax. She walked around the flower garden and then heard a strange crying sound from the corner.
Renee walked over and found Miller sitting in his seat, surrounded by sunlight, with only the space he was sitting in shaded by a large umbrella. He sat there covering his face, as if crying.
Renee hesitantly asked, "Are you crying?"
Miller let go of her hand, revealing moist eyes. His eye sockets turned red, showing a hero's sorrowful tears and a delicate beauty, even more pitiful than a beautiful woman's crying.
"I am very sad," Miller gazed at her, his heart slightly relieved, and said softly, "Why don't you want to accept me?"
The maids all quickly walked away, leaving Renee standing alone in the garden, lonely and helpless, with only the sunlight to comfort her. Miller probably can't enter the sunlight, right...?
Her voice trembled slightly: "You are a vampire, and I am a human being... we have no possibility."
"But I have never harmed the lives of human beings. Even when I take blood, I do not harm people," Miller passionately rambled, "I won't eat you, I just want your love, I want to protect you for a lifetime, is that not possible?"
"I will grow old..."
"You will never grow old!"
Miller saw her look of horror and cleared his throat to explain seriously, "I mean, you are immortal in my eyes, forever maintaining this youthful and beautiful appearance. The memories of the bloodline are eternal, and I will always remember your beauty and your love for me."
He saw her emotions ease slightly, opened his left hand towards her, and continued, "I don't want your last memory of me to be just fear and resistance, it breaks my heart into shards of glass. Please, give me a chance, okay?"
Renee was clearly swayed by Miller's deep affection. She bit her lower lip and slowly moved closer to him.
Miller's body has always been in the shadow, not crossing that line, waiting for her to approach. This gives Renee a lot of security. She tentatively raised her right hand, her fingers slowly reaching in, and touched Miller's palm.
Miller looked up at her, this time it was his turn to tremble all over, enduring it.
Just like that, they spent three days together. Renee finally allowed him to hold her frontally and slowly kiss her cheek without resistance.
When Miller embraced her and sniffed her neck, he couldn't help but take a deep breath like a drug addict. It was so heavy that it scared Renee, worrying that he might not be able to resist taking a bite.
"I won't bite you, my Renee. Unless you agree, I won't bite you even if you just don't refuse me."
His repeated promises reassured Renee a lot. Usually, she likes to be in the sun because that way she can have her own space, and Miller won't follow.
Only in the evening, she had to face Miller, her current lover... actively on one hand, and unable to refuse on the other.
Miller is really handsome, his eyes and fangs are also terrifying. Renee often feels like she is dancing on a tightrope, not knowing when she will completely sink and fall into the abyss.
"Renee, I don't think you should be called Renee. You should be called Daphne."
Renee lay in bed, feeling her waist being held by an arm, and had to open her eyes. "Why?"
"Because I always feel like the sun will steal you away, you're too... the sun likes you too much, I don't want you to like it."
Renee turned around and looked at him very seriously, saying, "I am a human being, I like the sun."
