Seeing this, I thought to myself, "Although this monster can't be killed, it seems somewhat foolish. If worse comes to worst, I can always escape..." The Void Spirit heard my thoughts and said, "You think something that even makes me feel fear is just this simple? If that were the case, why not just summon a ghost to replace it..." 0

Upon hearing the Void Spirit's words, I felt there was some truth to them and dared not let my guard down any longer. I gripped my sword tightly, assuming an attacking stance, my eyes fixed intently on the monster before me. 0

I watched as the monster reassembled itself, its body shaking violently as if something within was struggling desperately... 0

Worried that something even more terrifying might burst forth from inside, I took advantage of the monster's swaying and held my sword horizontally. I dashed forward, closing the distance quickly and sweeping my sword forward with all my might, driving the blade deep into the monster's body. 0

At the same time, I twisted my arm, raising the sword that had initially sliced in horizontally. With every ounce of strength I could muster, I flung the monster away. 0

The creature was hurled out with a loud crash, slamming against the back wall of a nearby building. The structure crumbled instantly under the impact, dust flying everywhere. 0

But I had no intention of giving that monster any chance to recover. I leaped into the air and began to unleash a flurry of strikes into the swirling dust below. Dozens of Black Lights erupted forth, crashing into the debris. Unwilling to relent, I recalled the sensation of power gathering when the Void Spirit condensed energy and focused all the dark energy from my sword onto its tip, forming an incredibly dark Black Sphere that resembled a black hole. 0

Then, with a powerful downward swing, I sent the Black Sphere plummeting into the thick cloud of dust. 0

In that instant, a deafening boom echoed as the dust was violently blown apart from its center. A beam of black light erupted from within, but I never expected this strike would be so powerful that it knocked me down from above. I struggled to maintain my balance and barely managed to land on my feet. 0

Breathing heavily as I stood on solid ground, I gazed at the massive crater created by the explosion and muttered to myself, "Even if you're immortal, let's see how you fare when blown to bits..." 0

Before I could finish my sentence, countless red threads emerged from the pit. The dense mass of red lines intertwined and curled in mid-air until they formed a gigantic arm that swung down toward me. 0

Each finger of that arm was nearly as large as me. Just as I prepared to raise my sword in defense, the Void Spirit shouted urgently at me, "Don't try to withstand it! Run!" 0

Startled by this revelation—that even the Void Spirit was panicking—I realized this attack was beyond my ability to block. Hastily retracting my offensive stance, I saw that enormous hand descending rapidly with no time to turn around. All I could do was lean back instinctively and push off with my legs from the ground, propelling myself backward. 0

With a resounding crash, that giant hand struck the ground hard. Seeing that I had escaped danger, I quickly plunged my sword into the earth to halt my momentum. 0

As I steadied myself and looked closely at what had just happened, I saw that the massive hand formed from countless threads instantly scattered upon hitting the ground like a receding tide. "What kind of Demonic Mark is this? How can I fight it if it can't be fought?" I questioned inwardly while retreating further away from it. 0

"Just now, the Demon Sorcerer mentioned the Soul Guide. These threads are actually manifestations created from the fusion of the ghosts we encountered earlier, known as Soul Threads. They can easily invade a living person's soul and pull it out for their own use. The source of this is the fused Soul Guide, which is that indestructible monster we just faced. To eliminate the Soul Threads, we must kill the Soul Guide itself; otherwise, they will continue to emerge endlessly..." 0

"No wonder you feel fearful; after all, you are a soul yourself... But that Soul Guide is immortal and cannot be killed, so how can we even begin?" I said, swinging my Jiang Ling to slash through the Black Light in an attempt to block the approaching Soul Threads, but it was utterly ineffective. The Soul Threads continued to swarm toward me. 0

"There is a way to break it, but finding that thing now might be too late..." Void Spirit fell into deep thought for a moment before saying, "The talismans used by ancient Taoists come in four levels, which are..." 0

Hearing this, I recalled what Li Zhisheng had told me about talismans and quickly pulled one out from the pouch at my waist. "Is this it?!" 0

I could sense Void Spirit's surprise upon seeing the talisman. It exclaimed, "Yes! That's it! A talisman of the Jie level or above can dispel the Soul Guide. Why didn't you mention you had one? Where did you get it?" 0

At that moment, I was already running forward without looking back. Seeing that it still had time to ask where I got it from, I anxiously replied, "Forget where I got it! Just tell me how to use this talisman to dispel the Soul Guide!" 0

"Apply your blood to the talisman and then find a way to stick it onto the soul of that Demon Sorcerer himself; that will break it!" Upon hearing this, I cursed inwardly, thinking, "How am I supposed to find him with so many souls merged together?" 0

However, Void Spirit seemed unfazed by my anxiety. Since seeing the talisman, it appeared confident and said, "No matter how many souls the Soul Guide absorbs, ultimately only its own soul plays a leading role. Right now, it's manifesting other souls as Soul Threads. If we can force it to reveal all those souls, its original soul will be exposed. But this opportunity may be fleeting; everything depends on you..." 0

Suddenly struck by inspiration, I said to Void Spirit, "In that case, no matter what decision I make next, you must follow my heart!" It smiled and replied, "You don't need to pretend with me; I already know exactly what you're thinking. Just act according to your will; I'll cooperate with you..." 0

Upon hearing this, my inner anxiety dissipated instantly. I stopped fleeing and turned around sharply to face the swirling tide of red threads before me and closed my eyes. 0

I focused on emptying my mind while Void Spirit synchronized with me; instantly, my internal power felt as if it had been drained away and fell into slumber. My Jiang Ling grew heavy in my hands. 0

I sensed the vibrations caused by the multitude of threads writhing on the ground. Just as they were about to touch me, I suddenly opened my eyes and thrust my Jiang Ling into my chest once more. 0

In an instant, the threads halted right before me; some even brushed against my eyelashes. However, this moment of stillness was fleeting—I couldn't afford any unnecessary movements. 0

I stepped back slightly and wiped the talisman across my shoulder wound where blood flowed freely. The talisman immediately turned crimson with my blood as I gathered strength in my right leg and leaped high into the air. 0

Leaping into the air, I clearly saw that the Demon Sorcerer had already transformed all souls into Soul Threads, leaving only himself standing in the distance, smugly crossing his arms as if waiting for my death. 0

I smiled and tossed the crimson talisman forward, gripping the sword at my chest tightly before suddenly drawing it out. I mimicked the Void Spirit, infusing part of my own soul into the blade. 0

Then, I aimed at the position of the Demon Sorcerer and hurled the sword with all my might. Just as the hilt slipped from my fingers, time returned to normal. 0

Jiang Ling, now infused with the power of souls, began to lose strength due to being thrown away. The dissipating souls formed a red dragon. 0

With the talisman in hand, Jiang Ling was enveloped by a blood-red soaring dragon, slicing through the night sky. Like a scarlet lightning bolt, it pierced directly into the head of the Demon Sorcerer. 0

In an instant, the waves formed by those fine threads surged and twisted, turning into dust that scattered into the night air, dyeing the dark sky red. 0

The Demon Sorcerer struggled and let out a series of agonizing howls. He reached out to pull Jiang Ling from his head, but it was too late. The moment his hand touched the hilt, the talisman transformed into a ball of golden light that enveloped him, gradually shrinking until it completely vanished. 0

Watching from a distance, I felt an inexplicable sense of relief wash over me as if my grievances had been avenged. 0

I walked over to pick up Jiang Ling and said to the Void Spirit within me, "Thank you!" To my surprise, the Void Spirit cursed back at me: "Damn it! You just insulted me like that, didn't you?!" 0

I laughed heartily and replied, "I was wrong! Please forgive me; let's just forget about it. Go rest now." Hearing this, the Void Spirit let out a cold chuckle: "Heh heh, there will be plenty of time in the future..." 0

That laugh sent shivers down my spine. Suddenly, I felt the power of the Void Spirit vanish completely. Having infused part of my soul earlier, I felt particularly weak; my legs wobbled and I nearly collapsed on the ground. I barely managed to steady myself against a wall. 0

Supporting myself against the wall, I slowly made my way toward where I had come from. As I approached the village entrance, I spotted headlights illuminating the darkness. Hu Fang and Li Zhisheng rushed out of their car to help me. 0

Hu Fang came to my left side and raised her hand to assist me. "Ouch—ouch—ouch!" Her movement caused me to gasp in pain. Seeing this, Hu Fang became angry: "Look at you! Every time you go ghost hunting, you come back half-dead! Sooner or later you'll turn into a ghost yourself!" 0

Li Zhisheng held onto my right arm and laughed: "Look at you! Shen is so powerful; just now there was a burst of Black Light and red glow. If you become a ghost, you'd be a ghost king!" 0

I said irritably, "Go to hell. Can you think of something good for me? I'm dying, and I want to drag you all down with me..." 0

As I spoke, they helped me into the car. Li Zhisheng was driving, and Hu Fang sat in the back with me. He asked, "Where are we going now? Should we go home directly or take you to the hospital first?" 0

I glanced at my shoulder injury. "Although it doesn't feel like I've hurt any bones, it's better to be safe and go to the hospital." Li Zhisheng agreed and drove towards City Hospital. 0

The ride was silent. When we arrived at the hospital entrance, as soon as Hu Fang helped me out of the car, he gasped in shock. Hearing this, Li Zhisheng hurried over to see what was wrong. Seeing their terrified expressions, I quickly asked, "What happened? What's going on?!" 0

Without a word, Li Zhisheng yanked my shirt away from my right shoulder and said, "Look for yourself..." 0

I focused my gaze and felt a chill run down my spine. The mark on my hand had spread beyond my arm due to overexertion and was now creeping up towards my neck. 0

I thought to myself, "What is happening? Isn't it supposed to be that if the mark spreads all over my arm, my soul will be stripped away? Why is this...?" As I pondered this, I felt my consciousness starting to blur, and a sharp pain shot through my arm as if something were gnawing at it... 0
