After listening, I thought for a moment. "It seems that those 'people' outside don't recognize me or Li Zhisheng. Why don't you tell us where that place is? I can go with Li Zhisheng."
Hearing this, Hu Fang muttered reluctantly, "Before, I didn't have the ability and you left me behind. Now that I have the ability, you still want to leave me..."
Li Zhisheng hurriedly explained, "Shen Xu really doesn't want to leave you behind this time; he has no choice. You know those 'people' outside are here to find you. Once you go out, the consequences could be dire. Moreover, if we try to draw those 'people' away and let you out, it could cause even greater chaos, which would be more detrimental to us."
Seeing that Li Zhisheng felt the same way, Hu Fang had no choice but to give in. She stopped complaining and furrowed her brow in thought. "Alright then, let's do it your way. But you must come back to find me afterward..." Hu Fang looked at me with pleading eyes.
I assured her, "Don't worry, I will never leave you behind. I swear!" With that, I raised three fingers in a gesture of oath.
Seeing this, Hu Fang seemed somewhat reassured and continued, "Go out through this door, and take the third door on the left. Inside there is a staircase leading down that can bypass the next floor and take you directly to the bottom of this building. It's very spacious down there with many people guarding it; I'm sure that's where you'll find what you're looking for." After hearing this, I nodded in understanding and led Li Zhisheng out.
As we exited the room, we casually closed the door behind us and glanced down both ends of the corridor. On either side of the room I had just come from were four doors of the same color, totaling nine doors.
"Is it this way?" I said, pointing left while turning my back to the door we had exited.
Li Zhisheng laughed at me. "The corridor only has two directions; can't you tell left from right?"
"I was just asking you," I mumbled as I nonchalantly walked in the direction I pointed, counting the rooms we passed in my mind.
Just as I reached the third room, I stopped in front of a dark green door and opened it without hesitation.
Upon entering, I closed the door behind me. The room was pitch black; I couldn't see anything. "Is this really it? It doesn't look like there's a staircase here," I murmured to myself.
As soon as I finished speaking, two enormous blood-red eyes suddenly flashed in the darkness before me, resembling two lanterns.
Seeing this, I quickly stepped back a few paces. Li Zhisheng was right behind me at that moment; I accidentally bumped into him. "Hey, I'm still back here! Watch it," he complained.
"This... it seems like there's something in this room!" I said, a hint of fear creeping into my voice.
Li Zhisheng, hearing this, quickly peeked out from behind me, and the sight startled him as well. Two blood-red eyes floated in midair, while their owner remained hidden in the shadows, making it impossible to see its full form.
"Could Hu Fang be fake too? Is she deceiving us?!" Li Zhisheng exclaimed in surprise.
"Regardless of whether she is real or not, we need to get out first!" I said, turning to open the door. In my panic, I reached out to feel for the doorknob, but it seemed to elude me intentionally. The more frantic I became, the harder it was to find.
Just then, there was a loud bang as the door shook violently. "Get down!" Li Zhisheng shouted, pushing me aside. Immediately after, there was another dull thud against the door.
I fell to the ground from Li Zhisheng's shove, and in my haste, my phone slipped from my pocket and rolled right next to me. I quickly picked it up and turned on the screen, activating the flashlight function.
With the light from my phone, I could clearly see that in front of me stood a monster as strong as an ox. It was hairless and crouched on all fours, its head resembling that of a water buffalo but much larger. Two crescent-shaped horns protruded from either side of its head.
On its back were five or six muscular human-like arms, two of which were firmly pressing against the door blocking our exit.
Seeing this creature, Li Zhisheng gasped, "Ox-Head?! Isn't this a monster that appears in the Underworld?! How did it end up here?!"
"So this is the Ox-Head from the Bull-Headed Monster legend..." I said with some confusion. "It doesn't seem that frightening aside from those two glowing red eyes."
Li Zhisheng noticed my dismissive attitude towards our foe and replied, "Although this thing may not be very strong in combat, it possesses an immortal body. Once it grabs you with one of its hands on its back, you won't be able to escape until you're crushed into pulp. This is what I've read in ancient texts passed down through my family—it's not something to take lightly..."
Suddenly, the monster let out a low "moo," reminiscent of a cow but with a sharp edge that made it extremely uncomfortable to hear. From its tone, I could sense that it was not pleased at all.
I anxiously asked, "So according to you, we can't kill this thing and we can't let it catch us—what are we supposed to do?!"
Li Zhisheng was about to explain when the Minotaur didn't give him a chance; it lunged at us with one of its outstretched hands.
Seeing this, I quickly kicked off the wall beside me, sliding my body forward a short distance. Li Zhisheng followed suit, pushing himself in another direction.
The Minotaur missed its strike, its massive hand crashing down on the ground with a loud thud, sending shards of stone flying and hitting the surrounding walls with a series of loud bangs.
"Li Zhisheng, attack that monster! Even if you can't kill it, at least try to hold it back. Buying us some time would be good!" I shouted to Li Zhisheng while directing my phone's light towards the creature to help him aim.
Upon hearing this, I saw Li Zhisheng leaning against the wall in the corner, gathering two Black Spheres in his hands before throwing them at the monster. With two loud bangs, the Black Spheres struck the creature, enveloping it in a cloud of dark energy.
The Minotaur let out a pained roar, "Moo!" It seemed that Li Zhisheng's attack had completely enraged it. At that moment, I moved my phone's light towards the door, hoping that our attacks would force the creature to retract its hands from blocking the door. However, to my surprise, its hands remained firmly pressed against the metal door, leaving deep handprints due to the immense force.
"Should we keep attacking?!" Li Zhisheng anxiously awaited my next command.
I shouted, "Aim for its hands on the door and keep attacking! Don't stop until it pulls back!"
