"Finished," Li Zhisheng said to me, "Saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda. How many levels have you built now?" 0

Upon hearing this, I realized that Li Zhisheng wasn't trying to tease me; he was actually praising me. "Stop joking around. Look at me, I'm covered in blood and I haven't even bought you anything to eat yet." 0

Li Zhisheng chuckled, "Since I'm already down here, there's no need for you to trouble yourself. Let's go out and eat together." 0

I glanced at the punk lying on the bed who had tried to hurt me and thought, "I've done all I can for him. I hope he can become a good person once he gets better." 0

After that, I ignored him and went out with Li Zhisheng to find a restaurant where we could grab a bite and chat for a while. 0

By the time we returned to the hospital, it was already past eight in the evening. As we walked to the entrance, I suddenly remembered something and said to Li Zhisheng, "Wait a minute, didn't the doctor tell you not to eat anything tonight?! What are we going to do now?" 0

Li Zhisheng shrugged his right hand, "I've already eaten. What else can we do? Am I supposed to throw it all up?" 0

"Ah, it's my fault for forgetting such an important thing..." With that, I followed Li Zhisheng back to the floor where his ward was located. As soon as the elevator doors opened, we saw his attending physician preparing to leave for the day. He looked at us with annoyance and said, "Where have you two been? Don't you know it's best not to go out with an open wound? What if it gets infected?!" 0

"Doctor," I said timidly, "I need to tell you something... My friend was hungry, so we went out to eat something..." 0

Upon hearing this, the doctor was furious. "Surgery requires anesthesia, which can cause nausea and vomiting. If anything in your stomach refluxes while under anesthesia, it could lead to lung problems or other issues! Who's going to take responsibility for that?! The surgery is canceled! We'll notify you about rescheduling later!" 0

I never expected the doctor would get so angry; even I was taken aback by his outburst. He stormed into the elevator and pushed us out before the doors closed behind him. 0

"Well great, not only is the surgery postponed, but now what are we going to do?" I looked at Li Zhisheng with an innocent expression. 0

He shrugged again, "What can we do? It's hard to go against fate." 0

"What a difficult situation, it's clearly something we brought upon ourselves..." I complained to Li Zhisheng as we approached the hospital room. 0

At that moment, we heard raised voices from inside and hurried in. There, a man resembling a migrant worker was arguing with the man who had previously sought revenge on me. "Boss, it's time to pay us, right? It's been six months! How are we supposed to survive while you keep dragging this out? Some of us just got married, others just had kids; we're all counting on this paycheck to get by..." The migrant worker pleaded desperately. 0

However, the man seeking revenge merely scoffed, feigning innocence. "Look at me! I'm stuck in bed! The doctor says my leg is terminally ill; what can I do? I've spent all my money on treatment. And yesterday, a bunch of clueless people came to try and kill me... Look at my injured hand! Aren't you pushing me towards death?!" 0

Seeing the boss's pitiful expression, the migrant worker hesitated for a moment before pulling out a handful of change from his pocket. "Boss, if what you say is true, then take this money. I hope you recover soon..." He placed the coins at the foot of the bed, his face reflecting despair. 0

Instead of refusing, the boss gladly accepted it, pretending to be in pain as he said to the migrant worker, "Thank you! Please tell the others that once I have money again, I'll make sure everyone gets paid." 0

The migrant worker nodded and said, "I won’t keep you from resting any longer..." He prepared to leave. 0

Watching this unfold ignited a fire within me. You sought revenge on me, and I wasn't even planning to hold it against you. It turns out you were hospitalized just to delay paying the migrant workers while trying to gain their sympathy. I could no longer contain my anger; I rushed forward and grabbed the migrant worker's arm, pulling him back to the bedside and shoving the coins back into his hands. 0

The migrant worker was taken aback, confused about what had just happened. The boss lying in bed looked at me with a hint of fear on his face upon seeing me unharmed. 0

"Who are you? What are you doing?!" The migrant worker asked in surprise. Noticing his confusion, I explained, "Listen, you've been deceived by this scoundrel. He has plenty of money; he's only in the hospital to elicit your sympathy so he can avoid paying you! This is all an act!" 0

I expected that after hearing this, the migrant worker would be furious. To my surprise, he remained calm. "Don't be reckless; my boss is a good person. I believe him—look at the white cloth wrapped around his leg..." 0

Hearing this made me sigh inwardly. How kind-hearted this migrant worker was! How could that scoundrel bear to deceive him like this? But seeing that he didn't believe me left me helpless; I could only slam my fist down hard on the bed in frustration. 0

Looking back at the boss, he wore a smug expression as if saying, "See? Mind your own business and you'll save yourself trouble." 0

Glaring at his vile face made my fists clench tightly as fury surged within me. I wished I could summon the Void Spirit right then and there to tear him apart and feed him to the dogs. 0

Seeing my unusual expression, Li Zhisheng quickly grabbed my arm, fearing I might act impulsively. He whispered, "Don't do anything rash. If you hit him, he'll have even more reason not to pay up..." 0

After hearing this, I struggled to suppress the anger boiling inside me. Gritting my teeth, I glared at the scoundrel lying on the bed and said, "There's something I need to return to you... just wait!" 0

Then, I instructed the Migrant Workers to take the money and told him not to feel sorry for that scoundrel. I slipped him some extra cash to help him get by for now. However, he refused repeatedly, insisting that money should be earned through one's own efforts, not given freely by anyone. 0

I was left speechless and could only let him leave. After the Migrant Workers departed, I looked at the "boss" sprawled on the bed and said fiercely, "You will get your comeuppance sooner or later!" 0

He merely scoffed at my words and ignored me. 0

Though I was fuming inside, there was nothing I could do at that moment. I helped Li Zhisheng lie down on the bed and sat beside him, stewing in my frustration. 0

Li Zhisheng sighed as he lay there. "Good and evil will eventually be repaid; it’s just a matter of whether it comes early or late. Don't worry; as long as I'm okay, he's doomed..." 0
