After Yao Long deflected Fan Wu's attack, he calmly said, "In truth, the traitor is not me, but you!"
Fan Wu, already angered by his failed attack, was further infuriated by Yao Long's words. He shouted, "Stop spouting nonsense! Where have I betrayed anyone? I have always been loyal to Yang Master and have never harbored any thoughts of betrayal, let alone actually betray!"
Seeing this, I felt a bit worried. After all, I had suffered at Fan Wu's hands before and knew how formidable he was, so I couldn't help but express my concern. "Be careful provoking him; he might go wild..." I whispered to Yao Long.
However, Yao Long remained unfazed and confident. "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing." He then turned to Fan Wu in the distance and declared loudly, "Yes, I have betrayed Yang Master, but I am a person—a living human being. I betrayed Yang Master because I refuse to betray humanity and commit heinous acts!"
With that, Yao Long unhesitatingly released several sharp arrows that instantly traced crimson lines through the air. In an instant, those arrows accurately struck down the thugs holding Li Zhisheng and Hu Fang, killing them on the spot.
Fan Wu looked somewhat shocked; after all, the speed of Yao Long's arrows this time was extraordinary compared to when he had previously caught one of them. However, since he was unaware of Yao Long's connection to the Worm King, he appeared somewhat flustered.
"I'll give you one last chance. If you remain stubborn, don't blame me for being merciless!" Yao Long readied several more crimson arrows on his Azure Spirit, aiming them at Fan Wu.
Hearing this, Fan Wu laughed heartily. "One last chance? Are you out of your mind? Earlier, five of you couldn't defeat me. If it weren't for that later arrival helping you, you would have already died at my hands! But now there will be no one to help you!"
With that, Fan Wu leaped into action, gathering a red and green ball in each hand before launching himself toward me and Yao Long. Although I believed in Yao Long's current strength, memories of my previous encounter with Fan Wu filled me with a twinge of fear.
Yet Yao Long showed no fear. Instead of firing arrows directly, he jumped toward Fan Wu. Just as they were about to collide, dark armor suddenly sprouted from his leg. He swung that armored leg horizontally at Fan Wu's abdomen with tremendous force.
Before Fan Wu could react, Yao Long's kick sent him flying. The two spheres in his hands shattered upon impact. Seeing Fan Wu thrown back, Yao Long did not relent; he unleashed the remaining four arrows from his hands and sent them flying in pursuit of Fan Wu.
In an instant, there was a loud crash as the arrows struck the distant wall with such force that it caved in and created numerous cracks around it. But before Fan Wu could slide down from the wall, the four arrows arrived promptly and accurately pinned his limbs against it.
Yao Long landed smoothly, calmly gazing at Fan Wu, who was pinned against the wall. I stood behind Yao Long, taken aback by the scene; I never expected the Worm King’s power could elevate Yao Long to such a level so quickly.
As I pondered, Yao Long slowly addressed the struggling Fan Wu, “This is your last chance. If you don’t cherish it, then I can only kill you.”
Fan Wu, pinned to the wall, was filled with resentment and roared frantically, “Kill me? Dream on!” In a fit of madness, he suddenly exerted himself, tearing off his own arms. Almost immediately, two new arms sprouted from his body. With these newly grown limbs, he grabbed his legs in an attempt to tear them off as well.
Seeing this, Yao Long shook his head and softly murmured, “No saving you…” He then readied several arrows in his hand, intending to shoot Fan Wu dead.
However, Fan Wu, noticing Yao Long's renewed attack, disregarded his pinned legs and violently thrust his hands into his waist. A sharp crack echoed as he twisted and broke his own spine, falling from the wall.
Yao Long's arrows missed their target and pierced the wall instead, creating holes the size of arrows.
At that moment, Fan Wu lay on the ground laughing maniacally. “You can’t kill me! You can’t kill me!” Soon after, countless crimson Soul Threads emerged from where his waist had broken. These Soul Threads intertwined rapidly and formed a brand new lower body in an instant.
Though I had seen Fan Wu regenerate before, I never imagined he could regrow even after breaking his body. The sight made me feel nauseous.
“Stop your futile struggles. You have two choices now: escape or die…” After a moment's thought, Yao Long declared, “No wait, I’ve changed my mind. Now you only have one option: die!”
With that, Yao Long drew another arrow. This time, dark armor appeared on his arm as an eerie yet brilliant blue flame erupted from his bow. It enveloped the arrow, making it resemble a blue sun that illuminated everything around it.
At that moment, Yao Long closed his eyes and softly said, “Die.”
As soon as he spoke those words, the glowing arrow shot forth like a swift blue dragon toward Fan Wu, who hadn’t yet managed to stand up.
Suddenly, accompanied by a flash of light, there was a loud bang as a deep blue beam shot upwards like a flame, creating a large hole several meters wide in the sturdy basement.
“Is he… is he dead?” I stood behind Yao Long, staring in disbelief. I even felt a chill in my heart, but more than that, I sensed that Yao Long had become even more reliable.
“Even if he can regenerate, he should be reduced to ashes now. It would be impossible for him to come back,” Yao Long said as he walked towards Hu Fang and Li Zhisheng, beckoning me to help.
I quickly regained my composure and hurried over to Yao Long’s side. “It looks like they’re just unconscious. Let’s carry them back first.”
Upon hearing this, Yao Long nodded and picked up Li Zhisheng, preparing to leave, while I carried Hu Fang. We headed towards the large hole created by the explosion.
Just then, a muffled sound came from behind us. “Who is it?!” Yao Long shouted warily. But before he could turn around, a soft and delicate voice said, “Are you leaving already? Don’t you want to stay a little longer…”
