At that moment, a strong hatred flickered in his eyes, and an overwhelming Killing Intent erupted from him, sending chills down my spine. Since I was standing right in front of him, I was instantly enveloped by this Killing Intent and involuntarily took a step back.
Behind me, Haoyang and Yao Long, who had been busy, also sensed this chilling Killing Intent. In an instant, they were startled and shouted in unison, "Who?!" They quickly got to their feet, ready to attack.
Seeing it was Li Yu, Haoyang and Yao Long hurriedly calmed themselves. "Please don't get too agitated. I know you hate Yang Master to the core, but we need to keep our composure to avoid jeopardizing our plan," I advised.
"I know that very well..." Li Yu reined in his power and said, "We have less than two hours until the plan begins. You all need to prepare quickly; we'll set off together in ten minutes..."
Upon hearing this, everyone realized the urgency and didn’t dare to delay any longer. They each began to gather their things, while I simply found Jiang Ling in the room and wrapped it in a brown cloth before slinging it over my back.
Ten minutes later, everyone was nearly ready. Only Hu Fang looked confused at the dishes before him. "Everything's ready; aren't we eating before we leave?"
"We don't have time," Li Yu replied as he turned and opened the door, striding out.
Seeing Li Yu leave, no one dared to linger and they hurriedly followed suit.
After leaving the house, we took a taxi to the outskirts. By now, night had fallen, and there were hardly any people around, making the area feel desolate.
"There's no one here, so we don't need to hide. You all go draw those people out; I'll catch up shortly." With that, a burst of white light surrounded Li Yu, and he vanished from sight.
Seeing this, Yao Long rushed forward. He unleashed the power of the Worm King within him and before I could react, he grabbed both me and Death Apostle with his hands and sped away.
"I can walk on my own! You should take Hu Fang with you!" I shouted from the side.
However, Death Apostle calmly replied, "It's too early for you to summon the Void Spirit; have you forgotten about the mark on your hand?"
"That's true, but what about Li Zhisheng, Hu Fang, and Haoyang?!" I said anxiously.
"Don't worry about Hu Fang. Doesn’t Li Zhisheng have Soul Burial? He won't fall behind. Plus, there's still Haoyang. Just trust me!" Yao Long said as he charged ahead without looking back.
Moments later, Yao Long stopped at the top of a mountain. It was a barren hill with a wide view. Under the cover of night, we stood atop the mountain and looked down to see a faint light emanating from a not-so-obvious cave below.
At that moment, Li Zhisheng, along with Hu Fang and Haoyang, finally caught up with us. He was panting heavily. "You guys didn’t even wait for me! I'm just a disabled person; is it easy for me?!"
Li Zhisheng had just finished complaining when Yao Long let out a soft shush and made a gesture for silence, urging us to lower our bodies.
Seeing this, I quickly crouched down and peered toward the glowing cave entrance. Two figures, resembling patrolling guards, emerged from within. They stood on either side of the entrance, scanning the surroundings with vigilance.
"Why do we still have to hide if we're trying to lure them out?" Hu Fang whispered in confusion from behind.
"Even if we're luring them out, we should first observe the situation..." I had barely finished speaking when a group of about forty to fifty people walked out of the cave. Once they exited, they unleashed bright red Void Spirits and swiftly departed in a single direction.
"Just as Li Bo said; it seems they really are mobilizing to search for him," I murmured.
Once the group had completely moved away, I stood up and said, "It's about time for us to make our move."
Upon hearing my words, Yao Long also got up, removed his Azure Spirit from his back, and nocked a wooden arrow onto his bowstring. He instructed us, "You all go ahead first; draw out a portion of them."
After hearing this, everyone hurried down the mountain. Just as we reached halfway, a sudden wave of Killing Intent surged from afar. A flash of red light followed, and a red sphere exploded beside us, instantly kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Who goes there!" It seemed the guards at the entrance had spotted us and wasted no time launching an attack.
In response, Li Zhisheng suddenly leaped down the slope. The rest of us dared not lag behind and quickened our pace to follow him.
Reaching the foot of the mountain, we found that the two guards at the entrance had already fallen. One was pierced by Yao Long's arrow, and the area where the arrow struck was gradually corroding, indicating that Yao Long had infused something highly corrosive into it.
Li Zhisheng stood beside another corpse, looking down disdainfully.
At that moment, whether it was Yang Master sensing Yao Long's and Li Zhisheng's Killing Intent or the earlier commotion disturbing them, we heard a flurry of footsteps from inside the cave. Soon after, a group of individuals dressed in black rushed out.
Upon seeing us, they wasted no time summoning their Void Spirits and simultaneously launched an attack.
A barrage of bright red spheres and numerous Soul Threads surged toward Li Zhisheng, who stood at the cave entrance. Seeing this, I shouted, "Li Zhisheng! Watch out!"
Li Zhisheng smirked slightly, gathering a sphere emanating dark energy in his hand before suddenly turning around and hurling it into the cave.
As the entrance was a narrow tunnel, those rushing towards Li Zhisheng had nowhere to hide. In an instant, they were struck by the sphere emitted by Li Zhisheng, followed by a loud rumble as the tunnel collapsed, burying that group beneath the rubble.
"Don't worry, these lackeys are no match for us..." Li Zhisheng turned back and smiled at me. But before he could finish his sentence, the collapsed cave suddenly trembled violently, and then debris flew everywhere as something charged out from the entrance.
Li Zhisheng quickly jumped back a few steps to avoid the flying stones, but with rocks of various sizes, it was difficult to evade them all. He had no choice but to shatter some of the stones with his own hands.
Moments later, as the dust settled, a group of figures appeared before us. Two leaders stood at the front of the crowd, followed closely by those Yang Masters who had just burst out.
"Death Apostle, how dare you return! Are you here to beg for forgiveness, or do you intend to seek death?!" one of them snarled, pointing menacingly at the Death Apostle behind me.
To everyone's surprise, the Death Apostle showed no fear. He stepped forward calmly from behind me and said with a soft laugh, "Seek death? I have no such intention. I am here specifically to send you off..."
As soon as he finished speaking, a brilliant blue light erupted from the distant mountain peak...
