At that moment, no matter how much Void Spirit shouted, I had no intention of paying him any mind. I slowly stood up from the ground and glanced at the trembling Yellow Dog beside me. "Why don't you just die too?"
With a smirk, I raised my sword and was about to strike at Yellow Dog. Just then, a loud bang echoed from behind me as a massive arm burst through the flesh-and-blood wall surrounding us, reaching out toward me.
Before I could swing my sword, the enormous hand from outside had already grabbed me and dragged me out forcefully.
Once outside, I saw that the owner of the giant hand was the same colossal monster I had seen earlier.
It lifted me up to its face, opening its mouth full of bones, ready to swallow me whole.
At that moment, I felt no fear. Drawing Jiang Ling, I decisively slashed through the monster's arm. Then, aiming for its head, I gripped my sword with both hands and swung down fiercely.
A shadow of darkness flashed before me as the monster's head was cleaved in two before it even had a chance to react.
I wasn't done yet. Stepping on the severed arm of the monster, I charged toward it with unprecedented speed...
As I got closer, I wielded Jiang Ling, creating streaks of dark sword shadows in front of me while darting around the monster at incredible speed.
Seeing this, the monster extended its remaining three arms in an attempt to grab me. But its speed couldn't even match a fraction of mine; before it could touch me, my attacks had already ceased.
The monster stood still, no longer moving, like a statue frozen in place.
"Shen Xu..."
"Shut up!" I yelled at Void Spirit. "I don't need your guidance!"
As soon as my words fell, the statue-like monster was dismembered into countless pieces and crashed to the ground.
However, instead of perishing, the fallen monster reassembled itself at an even faster pace, and this time it was twice as large as before.
Standing before its massive foot, my tiny frame was even smaller than one of its toes. Yet I felt no fear; instead, I found this gigantic creature even more worthy of destruction.
I slightly curled my lips into a smirk, lowered my body in preparation to charge forward, and held Jiang Ling tightly behind me.
At that moment, the monster noticed me as well. Without hesitation, it reached out four arms toward me—so small in comparison—and opened its palms wide, intending to crush me into the ground.
A strong sense of oppression surged from above, and the monster's four massive hands, blocking out the sun, loomed right in front of me.
Seeing this, I let out a soft grunt and suddenly raised the hand gripping Jiang Ling. The blade flashed, and one of the monster's hands hesitated momentarily in mid-air before being cleaved in two.
Seizing the opportunity, I pushed off with my feet and leaped from the severed hand, aiming for the remaining three arms that followed closely behind. With a swift motion, I swept Jiang Ling across.
In a blur, three arms were sliced cleanly at the wrists, hot blood gushing from the severed ends like boiling water.
I dodged to the side, using the uneven surface of the monster's body to propel myself upward. In an instant, I found myself near the creature's head, where a large circular mouth filled with shattered bones suddenly appeared before me.
The monster sensed my approach and quickly aimed its gaping maw at me, unleashing a powerful suction in an attempt to draw me inside.
In response, instead of resisting this force, I used it to leap into the air, gripping Jiang Ling above my head as I aimed for the monster's forehead and lunged forward.
In an instant, Jiang Ling pierced deeply into the monster's head. "Let's see how many times you can come back to life!" With that thought, a tremendous power surged from the tip of the Crimson Spirit Sword embedded in its skull.
There was a muffled explosion as the monster's head shattered into pieces. As its massive body collapsed once more, I jumped down to the ground.
"Useless! Even if you kill it, what difference does it make? It will still come back! You need to regain your senses; otherwise, you’ll only find death!" Void Spirit shouted within me.
"Didn't I tell you to shut up?! If you keep talking nonsense, I'll kill you too!" I growled fiercely.
Upon hearing this, Void Spirit ceased its argument and calmly said, "At this point, I have no other options. Letting you continue like this will only lead to your demise. Whether it's fortune or misfortune... it all depends on your fate. I'm sorry, Shen Xu!"
Suddenly, Void Spirit let out a loud roar as a tremendous force erupted from within me. This power relentlessly tore at my soul as if trying to drag it out of my body.
In an instant, I collapsed to my knees; my grip loosened and Jiang Ling fell beside me. Clutching my head, I rolled on the ground as excruciating pain coursed through me, as if my very organs were being ripped from my body.
"What are you doing! I want to kill you! Kill you!" I screamed repeatedly as my consciousness began to fade and everything around me became hazy.
"I... what am I..." My emotions shifted from rage to calmness and tranquility as my awareness blurred.
At that moment, everything around me turned pitch black. In the darkness, I saw a faint light in the distance. I strained to see clearly but could not discern what it was; yet instinctively, my body yearned to move closer to that light. Thus, I ran toward it with all my might.
As the light drew closer, I became more reckless, leaping into its embrace.
In that moment, a warm and gentle glow enveloped me. When I opened my eyes, I found myself lying on an endless prairie, surrounded by nothing but low grass—no trees, no flowers, no animals...
The vibrant green and the sunlight pouring down from above filled me with a profound sense of peace. "Am I dead? Is this heaven?" I murmured to myself as I lay on the prairie.
A gentle breeze brushed against my face, carrying the scent of fresh grass. At that moment, all my worries seemed to vanish. There was no deceit or treachery from the real world, no endless greed or desire. All I wanted was to stay here forever, eternally...
With that thought, I slowly closed my eyes, savoring the boundless tranquility...
But just then, I felt the ground begin to tremble. Cracks appeared in the lush prairie, and streams of crimson liquid surged forth from the fissures, accompanied by a strong metallic scent of blood...
At that moment, even the sun in the sky began to be tainted by blood, turning a deep red...
