Hearing this, I quickly stopped my conversation with Yao Long and patiently awaited the arrival of the Sun Warrior Leader.
Moments later, as footsteps approached from outside, the door creaked open, revealing the Sun Warrior Leader accompanied by several attendants. Noticing Yao Long and me standing inside, he surveyed us with a hint of confusion and said, "What a surprise, Shen. I wasn't lying to you, was I?"
"Yes, he is indeed my friend Yao Long," I replied.
"It's great that you can trust him, but I need to interrupt your 'secret' conversation for a moment..." He emphasized the word "secret," as if to highlight something important. "Shen, didn't you want to deal with Onizuka last night? Since I've agreed to help you, let's get started."
"Deal with Onizuka now? Are you Xinzhu?" I asked.
The Sun Warrior Leader chuckled softly. "Not just Xinzhu; in fact, I currently have two tombs in hand—one is Xinzhu, and the other is Fu."
"You mean I need to deal with both tombs at once?" I pressed further.
"That depends on whether you have the capability..." the Sun Warrior Leader replied. "Although most of the ghostly power was eliminated when I brought these two Onizuka back, the inherent power of Onizuka still exists. Breaking the tomb won't be easy for you; it could even lead to your death..."
"If it's that dangerous, then why are you..."
Before I could finish my sentence, the Sun Warrior Leader anticipated my question and answered directly, "Although the Void God within me participated in creating Xinzhu, you must understand that what is sealed within Onizuka is the power of the God King. Only you can absorb it back into your body. If I were to break it, it would only mean sealing the God King's power in another location. So all I can do is help suppress Onizuka while you'll have to rely on yourself to break it."
After hearing this, I exchanged glances with Yao Long beside me. He seemed puzzled by the Sun Warrior Leader's words since he was unaware that the Void Spirit within me was actually the God King.
I hesitated for a moment, thinking that with the Sun Warrior Leader around, things should be fine. Although I wasn't clear on his true intentions, he wouldn't let me die so easily; if that were the case, there would be no need for him to go through such trouble to keep me alive. Moreover, breaking Onizuka would restore the power of the Void Spirit within me, which was undoubtedly a good thing.
With this thought in mind, I felt somewhat reassured and said, "Alright then, let's go see what you call Onizuka..."
With that, Yao Long and Wang Bin—who had been standing at the door keeping watch—followed me as we left the room together with the Sun Warrior Leader, heading deeper into the mountain's structure.
Along the way, Wang Bin, who was usually chatty, fell silent. It was unclear whether he was afraid of the leader or if there was another reason. Yao Long, on the other hand, remained as vigilant as ever, constantly scanning the surroundings as if trying to uncover some clue.
In stark contrast to the two of them, the Sun Warrior Leader appeared particularly relaxed and at ease. Given his current strength, it seemed unlikely that anything could instill fear or tension in him anymore.
As I observed the expressions of those around me, the Sun Warrior Leader suddenly spoke to me out of the blue, “Shen, you see how hard I’ve worked to weaken Onizuka and prevent him from regaining his power? I brought him back directly for your convenience in dealing with him. Shouldn’t you lower your guard against me now?”
His words suggested that he was aware of my suspicions and was trying to use this conversation to make me let my guard down and reveal my thoughts. I wasn’t easily swayed, though; while I might not be an expert in such matters, I certainly wouldn’t fall for such simple tactics.
So I countered, “As the saying goes, ‘Do not trust those you suspect; do not suspect those you trust.’ Aren’t you also wary of me? Have you ever truly let your guard down around me?”
After hearing this, the Sun Warrior Leader showed no sign of displeasure; instead, he burst into laughter. “I knew I didn’t misjudge you! Shen, do you know why I placed you at Fifth Level?”
“Why?” I asked.
“Do you remember when I told you that the current Yang Master is not as simple as you think? Many capable individuals have already developed ulterior motives. The reason I put you in this position is so that you can help me eliminate dissenters…”
“Are there people plotting a rebellion?”
“It’s more than that; they have now set their sights on you…” The Sun Warrior Leader’s expression suddenly turned serious.
His words left me momentarily stunned. After pondering for a moment, I said, “Are you deliberately reviving Onizuka and then letting me deal with him to strengthen my power for my own protection?”
“Exactly.” The Sun Warrior Leader nodded. He was about to continue when a dark semicircular door appeared before us. From its appearance, it seemed to be made of the same material as the gate outside. The door was intricately carved with various expressions of demons and monsters, creating a rather eerie atmosphere.
“Alright, we’ve arrived…” The Sun Warrior Leader changed the subject. “I’ll explain the situation inside Yang Master later. This is where I store Xinzhu. Are you ready?”
“Wait, my sword…” Suddenly remembering that Jiang Ling was still on the table in the hall, I turned to go back for it but was grabbed by the Sun Warrior Leader. “I brought it for you.”
He took out the hand that had been behind his back, revealing my pitch-black Jiang Ling, which shimmered with an eerie Black Light under the illumination of the candles on either side.
"Old Fox is indeed Old Fox, thinking things through so thoroughly..." I murmured to myself, reaching out to grab the Jiang Ling from the Sun Warrior Leader's hand.
However, it seemed that the Sun Warrior Leader heard my whisper. He pulled his hand back slightly and asked, "What Old Fox?"
Realizing my mistake in voicing my thoughts, I quickly explained, "No, no, I'm just an Old Friend. This sword has been with me for a long time; it's just like an Old Friend."
Upon hearing this, the Sun Warrior Leader smiled slightly and said, "Ancient warriors often regard their favorite weapons as their lives. It seems you have a bit of that ancient warrior's demeanor as well." With that, he handed the Jiang Ling to me and then pressed one hand against the semi-circular double doors.
Then, with a sudden burst of strength, the Sun Warrior Leader pushed open the seemingly heavy doors with just one hand.
As the doors swung open, a dazzling red light poured out from the gap, resembling a stream of crimson blood surging forth from within...
