Tao Star Nine Souls
Hearing this, I was taken aback and quickly turned to ask, "What happened?! Do you know the secret hidden in 'Divine Anomalies Classic: Nine Star Life and Death Diagram'?"
The Death Apostle slowly walked up to me and pulled out a palm-sized flat circular Metal Object from his coat pocket. "I don't know, but I think this should be the key to unlocking the secrets of 'Divine Anomalies Classic.'"
I took the Metal Object from his hand, feeling its weight. It was perfectly round, with a smooth center that reflected light, while the edges were framed with a raised border made of a different material. Having previously dealt in gold, I immediately recognized it as a genuine Pure Gold frame. Embedded within were three vividly carved dragons, each Dragon's Mouth holding a black gemstone about the size of a thumbnail.
Though the gemstones weren't large, they appeared incredibly transparent, and staring at them for too long felt almost mesmerizing.
"What is this?" I asked.
"Soul Mirror," the Death Apostle replied calmly. "This was left to me by Mo Shu Senior when Yao Long brought back the real 'Divine Anomalies Classic.' At that time, he seemed to have sensed something and had everything arranged ahead of time, handing this over to me."
"Now, the key to deciphering 'Divine Anomalies Classic' is in your hands; whether to use it or not depends on you." With that, the Death Apostle produced 'Divine Anomalies Classic' and held it out before me.
Looking at the Soul Mirror in my hand and then at the 'Divine Anomalies Classic' in the Death Apostle's grasp, I found myself hesitating.
In recent days, I had learned many things that might be the truth, but my involvement had led to more deaths. Now that the truth lay before me, should I dare to look?

Why hesitate now at such a critical moment?" The Death Apostle moved the 'Divine Anomalies Classic' closer to me.
Just then, as I reached out to take the 'Divine Anomalies Classic,' a sudden bark startled me into withdrawing my hand.
Looking down, I saw the Yellow Dog I had rescued earlier running toward me from who knows where, wagging its tail and looking up at me.
I bent down and gently stroked its head, murmuring to myself, "If only I could be like you, free from so much pain and worry, without having to make choices between life and death..."
Before I could finish my thought, Hu Fang, who had been silent until now, came up beside me. She leaned against me and joined in petting the Yellow Dog. Seemingly casual yet intentional, she said, "Every animal feels pain; they experience sadness too. They have emotions of sorrow and joy. Often they must make choices as well; they just aren't as greedy or scheming as humans. They simply know what they truly want."
"Isn't that the case for everyone? Everything is just for survival..." I turned to look at Hu Fang, who was gazing back at me. A hint of sadness flickered in her eyes, completely overshadowing any joy she might have felt about my recovery.
"Do what you want to do..." Hu Fang said meaningfully before getting up and returning to the house, leaving only me and Death Apostle, along with the seemingly cheerful Yellow Dog in front of me.
"Have you made up your mind?" Death Apostle asked from the side.
"Yeah," I replied, standing up and taking the Divine Anomalies Classic from his hands. "Let's see why Yang Master's people are so eager to get this book."
With that, I held the Divine Anomalies Classic and Soul Mirror and walked over to a table in the hall, finding a chair to sit down. I placed both items on the table and asked, "Do you know how this thing is supposed to be used?"
Death Apostle stepped forward and shook his head. "I don't know. Ever since Mo Shu Old Senior handed me the Soul Mirror, I haven't really touched it. I thought it would be better for you to handle this since it's your matter." He looked at me with an expectant gaze, clearly curious about the secrets hidden within this book.
Seeing his interest, I didn't say much more. I picked up the Soul Mirror and opened the Divine Anomalies Classic in front of me, starting to attempt an interpretation.
At first, because the Soul Mirror was solid, I couldn't see the contents of the book through its surface. So, I tried using the light refracted by the mirror to illuminate the difficult passages in the book.
I flipped through each page, shining the Soul Mirror on every word, but there was no change on either the book or the mirror. Even when I reached the last page depicting the Nine Star Life and Death Diagram, there was still no reaction.
"What’s going on? Is this Soul Mirror fake? Or am I using it incorrectly?" Just as I was puzzled, I suddenly heard a woman sobbing behind me.
Turning around, I saw Li Zhisheng approaching us while comforting Mo Yun, who was holding onto Mo Lin's clothes from before his passing.

At that moment, Yellow Dog, who had been by my side, seemed startled and began barking frantically as if it wanted to rush forward and bite Li Zhisheng.
Seeing this situation, I quickly held down Yellow Dog and picked it up, trying to calm it. However, no matter how much I petted it, I couldn't get it to quiet down; instead, as Li Zhisheng's power overflowed, its barking grew even more intense...
