Amy activated all the system programs and medical monitors. Xiao Qiang was dragged into the Medical Room, where a massive human monitor scanned back and forth over his head with arcs of light.
Amy informed him that there was an unknown chip in his head. Each time he unleashed a burst of energy, his intelligence would automatically upgrade.
"Are you sure? You didn't make a mistake in the test?" Xiao Qiang questioned, unable to believe that there could be a chip in his head. If there really was one, why didn't he feel any discomfort?
"The chip is a Nano Tracker," Amy revealed.
"Can it be removed?" In the Medical Room, it was just the two of them. Xiao Qiang began to doubt whether everyone in the Fourth Group had such Nano Trackers implanted. If so, who had placed them in their brains? Why did they have no sensation of it at all? They couldn't even remember anything that happened before arriving on the island.
Meanwhile, Wen Kai, Wu Yi, and Li Hang were having their meal.
Lin Yu kept glancing around, noticing that Xiao Qiang and Amy were missing, wondering what they were up to.
Amy said, "Activating the protective shield..." The Spaceship House trembled suddenly, startling those who were dining.
Wen Kai cursed, "Damn it, can't we eat in peace?"
"Calm down," Lin Yu said elegantly as he wiped his lips. His gaze caught sight of Xiao Qiang emerging from the inner cabin, followed closely by Amy gliding on her wheels.
Wen Kai was astonished. His eyes sparkled as he stared at the arc moving above Amy's head. "A robot? Hey, that's cool."
Wu Yi blinked in surprise, his expression filled with curiosity as he forgot to chew his food and stared blankly at Amy.
Li Hang felt both surprised and uneasy, unsure of what this thing could do or if it could read their thoughts. What had just happened was truly underhanded; if anything went wrong, they would be in deep trouble...
Every individual stationed at the base had to store their personal information in Amy's repository. So, without Xiao Qiang giving orders, Amy was already scanning Wen Kai: "Wen Kai, male, excessive hormones. Age twenty, height one hundred eighty-two centimeters. Character grade C, personal history, filled with misconduct."
"What the hell..." Wen Kai fumed and hurled a spoon at Amy.
Xiao Qiang and Lin Yu were startled; the spoon slipped off Amy's smooth head and clattered to the ground with a delicate sound.
"This is a procedure that all personnel must complete. You only have an obligation to cooperate; your consent is not required," Amy proclaimed assertively, leaving them speechless once again.
Wu Yi watched as Amy rolled closer to him. Suddenly feeling anxious, his heart raced as he hoped for a good evaluation.
"Wu Yi, male, weak hormones, height one hundred eighty centimeters. Wheat-colored skin, naturally curly hair, character grade C, a coward."
"Wow, does it have to be like this? What the hell, I..." Wu Yi felt like kicking Amy away but gritted his teeth and held back his anger.
Upon hearing Amy's assessment of Wu Yi's character grade, Wen Kai felt a sense of balance and couldn't help but laugh heartily: "Good, very good."
As Amy continued her actions, everyone turned their attention to Li Hang...
Li Hang felt a wave of panic wash over him; his palms were sweating nervously. Suddenly, he made an unexpected move—he jumped up abruptly, roughly pushed aside the scanning Amy, and ran out of the Heart Chamber without looking back...
"Li Hang?" Xiao Qiang shouted; it was unsafe to run out at this moment because it was already completely dark... As he called out Li Hang's name, he leaped up and chased after him.
Poor Amy had toppled over backward and despite its desperate attempts to move its metal arms, it couldn't get back up. Thankfully, Lin Yu stood up and helped it: "Thank you, beautiful." A robot was still a robot; it showed no signs of anger and joked mischievously.
Li Hang's sudden outburst was unexpected.
Wen Kai, however, found nothing surprising about it. He enjoyed the sight of Amy sprawled on the ground, unable to get up, and couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Hahaha." But when Lin Yu stepped in to help her up, the fun was over, leaving him feeling a bit disappointed.
"Boss, should we go find Li Hang?" Wu Yi hesitated and suggested.
With nothing interesting happening here, Wen Kai couldn't muster any enthusiasm. Wu Yi's suggestion was reasonable; going to find Li Hang to see what was going on seemed like a good idea. After all, he was just a foolish robot who was afraid of birds.
In the distance, a rumbling thunder echoed. A bolt of lightning streaked across the dark night sky with its dazzling blue light. The sound of thunder crackled as it struck the ground nearby. Xiao Qiang chased after it and inadvertently arrived at a lake, where the gray mist obscured the boundary between the lake and the sky.
"Li Hang..." It was empty, with no response. Even the wind seemed to have stopped stirring, waiting for the impending storm. This was not a good sign; ever since that day when he first clashed with the Living Dead at the lake, Xiao Qiang had developed an intense dislike for it.
As the thunder grew closer, raindrops began to fall unexpectedly. Li Hang was hiding under a large rock; just a few steps ahead lay the lake, and he could hear Xiao Qiang calling out.
He wanted to step out, but thinking about having to go through Amy's test made him cling tighter to the rock. He also considered leaving this place; if all went well, crossing the lake before dawn shouldn't be a problem.
Just as this thought brewed in his mind, he suddenly felt anxious. In the rippling waters of the lake, something seemed to be rising—one, two, three... then many more appeared.
Oh no! The Living Dead! In a moment of panic, Li Hang forgot what had happened before. Trembling legs struggled against the fear that surged within him as he ran back desperately.
Xiao Qiang's worst fears had finally come true; the Living Dead were searching for their prey and were slowly approaching the spaceship's cabin. What should they do? The protective shield of the spaceship had been damaged by Li Hang. Although it had just been restored, its energy was still weak and would take two hours to regain its defensive capabilities.
But at that moment, Li Hang ran outside, causing further damage to the shield that couldn't be repaired immediately. Everything depended on Amy's operation...
Xiao Qiang burst into the cabin, shouting, "Hurry, give me the riot gun!"
"What happened?" Only Lin Yu and Amy were in the cabin.
Xiao Qiang paused, "Where are Wen Kai and the others?"
"They went out to look for Li Hang."
"This is bad."
"What exactly happened?" Lin Yu was startled by Xiao Qiang's serious and tense demeanor.
"The Living Dead are here." Without time to explain, Xiao Qiang strapped on the riot gun that Lin Yu handed him. He reminded urgently, "You put this on too," before rushing out.
With the Living Dead approaching, Wen Kai felt a surge of courage and did not back down. He had long wanted to deal with these Living Dead but had never had the chance. Now armed with a riot flame Laser Gun, he felt emboldened and fearless as he unleashed a barrage of fire at the leading Living Dead.
With a 'bang' and a 'boom,' the Living Dead hit by the flame Laser Gun ignited instantly. The Living Dead felt no pain; despite being engulfed in flames, they continued to advance step by step towards them.
