Without any warning, the headquarters suddenly connected—on the screen appeared the not-so-pleasant face of Professor R, who couldn't help but frown slightly upon seeing Lin Yu. 0

"Lin Yu, you are to receive the members of Fifth Team stationed at the DBL6 research base. Matt will send you the information about the Fifth Team members shortly..." 0

"Professor, let me explain..." Lin Yu disliked making direct eye contact with the professor. He was a thin old man in his forties, with a gloomy complexion, sunken eyes, and a shiny bald head that reflected the light. His gaunt face made his nose appear particularly large. 0

Lin Yu interrupted him impulsively, which only deepened Professor R's frown. Agitated, he waved his bony arms, devoid of any flesh, and cut her off: "Listen to me first before you share your opinion, OK?" 0

Seeing Professor R getting angry made Lin Yu break out in a cold sweat. She had been too eager and had forgotten that he was not someone to be easily offended. Those who dared to offend him usually faced consequences she didn't want to think about or witness. 0

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Professor. Please go ahead." 0

"I must say, your Fourth Group has performed well; I hope you continue to excel. The members of Fifth Team are here to assist you, and your duties will temporarily be taken over by the leader of Fifth Team." 0

After hearing Professor R's orders, Lin Yu felt an inexplicable sense of loss deep within her—a feeling of unexplainable sadness. "We haven't completed our mission; how could we possibly give up?" Her worries extended beyond that; Xiao Qiang had just informed her that they had discovered an ancient spaceship in the sinkhole they entered. To further investigate the truth, they had temporarily severed their connection with her to try activating the spaceship's control panel without any Ground electromagnetic interference. 0

Wen Kai had died under mysterious circumstances, and the spaceship concealed dangers. It was possible that the ship was connected to the personnel who had gone missing from the DBL6 research base earlier. The forced arrangement of personnel by Professor R nearly disrupted the plans Lin Yu and Xiao Qiang had discussed. 0

Should she compromise? Allow the members of Fifth Team to take over? Or should she refuse and sever ties with Professor R? Lin Yu knew very well what severing ties meant and what kind of punishment would follow. 0

Caught in indecision, she noticed that Professor R was growing impatient and shouted harshly. Lin Yu almost agreed... but then she thought again—if she allowed the members of Fifth Team to take over before uncovering the truth, wouldn't that just lead to more sacrifices? 0

But if she refused, it would mean completely severing ties with Professor R, losing all control over him. The consequences would be unimaginable; their Fourth Group members would be expelled and hunted down... 0

She found it strange that Professor R suddenly changed his mind. Could it be related to Xiao Qiang and their infiltration of the Subterranean Spaceship? Indeed, it seemed that Professor R noticed something off about Lin Yu's expression. 0

"Where are Xiao Qiang and the other members?" 0

"They are repairing the circuits in the Cultivation Room," Lin Yu said, but suddenly remembered that Amy, who had been by her side just moments ago, was now missing. She tilted her head slightly—Amy was nowhere to be seen. 0

"What are you looking at?" 0

"Nothing." 0

"Prepare for the reception and the replacement procedures. The members of the Fifth Team have already set off..." Lin Yu did not hear the rest of Professor R's words. The professor's command pierced her eyes like an invisible light, leaving her feeling helpless and weak, as if struck by a cruel kiss. 0

When had Professor R left? The screen was filled with static snowflakes. The sound of Amy's wheels rolling away felt distant, very distant... 0

Blood bubbled up like spring water—where was it coming from? Lin Yu opened her palm, revealing a deep crimson stain. Shocked, she did not scream; instead, she trembled nervously and looked down to check the source of the blood—it was her leg, which had a small hole oozing blood. Not far from her lay a pool of internal organs and blood, a sight that was both horrifying and nauseating. 0

This blood and these organs were the work of Xiao Qiang—he had become terrifying. Just seconds ago, she could hear the abnormal cracking of bones up close. His eyes were bloodshot, as deep red as the blood itself; the Living Dead had become his target for venting his rage. 0

He grabbed one after another, as if chopping firewood. Limbs separated from their bodies, dark blood splattering everywhere, accompanied by the horrific screams of the Living Dead. Fortunately, before he transformed completely—whether it was instinctive or unintentional—he had pushed her aside in his fury, preventing her from being splattered with the blood of the Living Dead. 0

Xiao Qiang fought with increasing ferocity, moving like a madman. His figure was agile and immensely powerful; he was killing with wild abandon… he seemed capable of taking on a thousand foes. 0

Lin Yu winced in pain from her leg injury. Gritting her teeth, she bent down to struggle and tore off a piece of fabric from her clothing to tightly bind her bleeding leg... 0

Wu Yi had only dozed off for a few minutes in his seat when he was startled awake by Amy's incessant wheel movements. It was then that he realized Lin Yu was missing and that his riot control Laser Gun seemed to have been taken by her. 0

Seeing this situation sent a jolt through Wu Yi, dispelling any remnants of sleepiness. He immediately stood up and patted Amy, saying, "Stop moving around; it's making me dizzy. I’m going to look for them right away..." 0

Amy's purpose in moving around was to wake Wu Yi up; upon hearing him say this, she let out a low rumble of approval and waved her claw-like arm in acknowledgment. 0

At that moment, Li Hang ran back, panting. The two exchanged a glance, and before Li Hang could catch his breath, he followed Wu Yi in search of Xiao Qiang and Lin Yu. 0

Wu Yi and Li Hang had missed the scene of Xiao Qiang battling the Living Dead; all they saw was Lin Yu curled up, covered in blood. Xiao Qiang lay sprawled in a pool of foul-smelling, putrid blood. 0

Xiao Qiang was too exhausted, having nearly depleted his energy after transforming, which left him in a deep slumber. Lin Yu had sought help from Amy and learned a secret: there was a chip in his head. 0

“Lin Yu…” came a distant call, wavering in and out. The voice sounded unreal and unclear, resembling Xiao Qiang but more like his mother… 0

Lin Yu's eyelashes fluttered, and he shivered all over, suddenly looking up nervously. A low groan escaped his throat: “Uh.” 0

Amy appeared before him. “Amy?” Lin Yu whispered, wanting to ask where she had just been. 0

Amy turned her round head and rolled towards the door. She activated the protective shield and then looked back at him… At that moment, silence spoke volumes. She understood his unspoken question: “Are you asking me to leave?” 0

Amy waved her claw-like arms. “Amy leaves, Amy escapes.” 0

Images of the cold, merciless eyes from the R Classroom flashed through Lin Yu's mind. The so-called replacement meant eliminating members of their Fourth Group. He knew the outcome—there was no hesitation in his gaze as he firmly told Amy, “Yes, let's find Qiang.” 0
