Memories long forgotten resurfaced in her mind. She vaguely recalled some stories from her childhood, particularly about Xiao Qiang, who had always been shy and insecure. She looked down on the boy she grew up with, which led her to join Wen Kai in bullying him, calling him a freak.

Xiao Qiang hadn’t heard Lin Yu’s voice for a long time. Now that they were connected, he couldn’t wait to see her.

This question related to Xiao Qiang and Old Eye Mask; he had observed Old Eye Mask whispering something, and he was sure it had to do with something significant.
However, Xiao Qiang firmly denied it. The more she insisted, the tighter the knot in his heart felt; it was genuinely uncomfortable. Now hearing Lin Yu mention a Winged Skeleton Mutant made him feign disbelief, deliberately trying to argue with her.
Xiao Qiang believed Lin Yu completely. She also understood that this Winged Mutant would be difficult to deal with. If Lin Yu were unarmed, it would be impossible for her to kill it, which indicated that she had activated her latent abilities.
Moreover, the evolution of Mutants was inherently unpredictable. It all depended on what triggered their evolution. Xiao Qiang feigned calmness, maintaining an air of composure. "Don't rush. It's not as simple out there as you think. The first one to appear might be a scout, and there could be many more behind..." He suddenly recalled the horrifying scene of the vicious Skeleton Mutants devouring their own kind while rotating the cycle of reincarnation. Could it be...

Wen Kai understood Lin Yu's reluctance to leave. She didn't want to part from Xiao Qiang. Some things were better left unknown; knowing only made her feel terrible inside—a sour feeling that was hard to shake off.

He didn't intend to leave immediately; his gaze was fixed on the aircraft. Without needing to guess, he knew it was the one Lin Yu had flown in. As he circled around it, memories of his own mistakes flooded his mind—injuring Li Hang and nearly costing Lin Yu her life...
Li Hang was a mutant, and so was Lin Yu; otherwise, how could she have neutralized a firebomb without any weapons? Never mind that; he just wanted to pilot the aircraft away from this place of troubles.
Besides, they were all mutants except for him. If something went wrong, wouldn't he be the one to suffer? Originally filled with guilt, his thoughts spiraled into a convoluted logic that somehow made sense to him.
Amy didn't understand terror or fear. She simply thought their circle was chaotic. The lair of the Skeleton Mutants was a complete mess. Perhaps due to hunger, some winged creatures were inciting the stronger Skeleton Mutants to bully those who were weaker.
