The benefits of the CG Concept Bicycle are numerous; it is capable of climbing mountains and traversing rugged terrain, with wheels that automatically adjust. The speed is controlled at the handlebars, allowing it to navigate rocky paths without feeling like a bumpy ride.
Rusty tracks stretch along the jagged stones, which have turned black and angular after suffering from Nuclear Radiation. This is a relic of historical transportation, the only passageway that the evil forces wish to exploit.
Beside the railway, there was hardly any path to follow. Fortunately, the CG Concept Bicycle's ability to ascend slopes made it possible to continue onward.
Half an hour after the signal flare was fired, thick smoke began rolling out from the dense forest behind Xiao Qiang and his group. The smoke rose and dissipated into the air, vanishing shortly thereafter.
To gauge their speed, Min Dagang dismounted and crouched on the tracks, feeling the vibrations caused by the heavy pressure on the rails. He stood up and adjusted the throttle to catch up with Xiao Qiang and the city lord ahead.
"What’s the situation?" Xiao Qiang asked.
"Boss, they’re coming," Min Dagang replied.
"Good. I was worried they wouldn’t."
"Damn it, I want to see what kind of monsters are packed inside that front car," the city lord gritted his teeth.
The muffled sound of a train grew louder, accompanied by a cloud of mist that drifted toward them with the wind.
Min Dagang raised his binoculars to look back and his expression changed dramatically as he saw a dark iron beast barreling down the tracks with great force.
Xiao Qiang and the city lord also lifted their binoculars for a glance. Just one look was enough to leave a deep impression in their minds. What on earth was that? It was clearly a modified locomotive. The front was marked by an iron-cast skull, with massive rotating wheels that churned up a thunderous noise. Black smoke billowed from its chimney, advancing with an overwhelming presence. At first glance, the overall structure of the locomotive exuded a terrifying ferocity.
According to their plan, Xiao Qiang needed to approach the train and slip through a window to investigate what was inside those two carriages being pulled by the engine. If an emergency arose, he would need to find a way to escape.
The city lord's task was to deliver five pipes ahead of time to the next stop along the train's route: Wolf Howl Gorge.
Wolf Howl Gorge lay two thousand five hundred miles from the ancient city, situated in a desolate area where not a blade of grass grew—a small patch of wasteland.
A few hundred miles further back lay a vast expanse of recently revived grassland, an area frequented by nomadic people. If the plan failed, it would inevitably bring disaster to those scattered across the prairie.
Xiao Qiang's orders were clear: they could not retreat any further. The estimated speed and time left them with no choice but to eliminate the target at Wolf Howl Gorge.
The city lord hesitated, voicing his concerns, "What if it detonates and you haven't gotten off the vehicle yet?"
The train tracks emitted a series of grinding sounds as the front of the train drew closer. Xiao Qiang shouted angrily, "Stop overthinking it! Just go!"
The city lord quickly twisted the accelerator, rapidly increasing the distance between them and Xiao Qiang's group until he became a small black dot in the distance.
Xiao Qiang set Wen Kai down and handed him over to Min Dagang.
With sharp eyes and a serious expression, he stared at Min Dagang and said, "If you don't protect him well, just run him over."
Min Dagang nodded solemnly, "Boss, don't worry. I guarantee he won't lose a single hair."
Xiao Qiang watched Min Dagang leave and waved his hand, saying, "From now on, don’t call me ‘boss.’ It sounds like a gang."
Min Dagang gave a thumbs-up, his eyes filled with admiration as he replied, "OK."
Xiao Qiang concealed himself in the dense underbrush, watching the approaching front of the train. His blood surged as he cursed inwardly, "Damn it, vampire nanny, come on!"
The dark mass drew closer to Xiao Qiang's hiding spot. In the distance, Min Dagang leaned against a large rock, feeling both excited and nervous. He patted the equally anxious Wen Kai and gritted his teeth as he said, "Wen Kai, do you dare to wait for me here?"
"You want to help Boss?" Little Wen Kai had also learned to call Xiao Qiang 'boss,' his innocent face lighting up as he said, "I can kill vampires too."
"Shut up! You haven't even lost your baby fat; how are you going to kill vampires?" Min Dagang teased while anxiously glancing toward Xiao Qiang's hiding place. He playfully slapped Wen Kai on the shoulder.
Wen Kai pouted, blinking his eyes as he said, "I'll wait for you here; you go help the boss!"
"Really?"
Wen Kai thought for a moment, his gaze firm as he nodded, "Yeah."
Min Dagang was overjoyed. He could fight vampires alongside the hero he admired, and in his excitement, he forgot everything else. He hugged Wen Kai's head and gave him a hard kiss on the cheek. "You stay here like a good boy; I'll be right back."
Wen Kai leaned against the awning, casting his gaze toward Xiao Qiang's hiding spot, and nodded perfunctorily, "Okay."
Min Dagang straightened his clothes and cleared his throat proudly. "Stay put; don't go anywhere."
Wen Kai found this Big Brother to be quite chatty. He could hardly muster the energy to nod; the afternoon sun was so bright that he didn't even want to open his eyes. He squinted slightly, silently watching Min Dagang leave the spot, who kept glancing back.
Min Dagang was afraid of Xiao Qiang's reprimand, which was why he kept circling back. As Locomotive passed by, he hurried a few steps and reached out to grab the iron pole, struggling to climb up.
Once he got onto the train, he was suddenly taken aback. For a moment, he forgot about his weapon; the firearms were still with Wen Kai. All he had on him was a prop. With a slight sigh, he decided not to get off but stubbornly moved forward through the carriage to check things out.
Xiao Qiang boarded from the front of the train.
Min Dagang boarded from the rear.
Xiao Qiang's mission was to maintain the train's speed, giving the city lord time to prepare.
Min Dagang knew Xiao Qiang was at the front.
But Xiao Qiang had no idea that Min Dagang had left Wen Kai behind and come to the rear of the train.
Before getting on the vehicle, Min Dagang never expected that there would be no one in the carriage. Instead, there were heavy packages hanging above the empty seats, resembling human skin. He had no idea what was inside these packages, but as he approached them, he could sense movement within.
For safety's sake, Min Dagang drew his machete and gripped it tightly. Seeing that there were no vampires in the carriage, he planned to head to the front to meet Xiao Qiang, admit his mistake, and then get off to assist Wen Kai.
These strange packages seemed to be swelling, growing larger and blocking his path. Although Min Dagang was the only one in the carriage, he had to navigate through these ever-expanding packages just to take a step forward.
As he maneuvered among the packages, Min Dagang suddenly heard a strange squeaking sound coming from one of them. He instinctively halted, suspecting he might have misheard, and focused intently on the package from which the sound originated.
Suddenly, there was a soft popping noise followed by a splash! A foul-smelling liquid poured out from the damaged package, and then a bizarre creature fell at Min Dagang's feet.
He stepped back in astonishment and took a closer look—this creature that had just dropped out of the package was none other than the vampire that had attacked Huainan Town that night. The difference was that this vampire appeared weak and powerless, like a newborn unable to stand.
Min Dagang didn't have time to think; he raised his sharp machete and swiftly struck down the struggling vampire infant on the carriage floor.
But the horror was far from over. The hanging packages seemed to be in labor. Popping sounds echoed as grotesque giant vampire infants emerged one after another.
Min Dagang was unaware that these infants would gain strength moments after their birth and begin their bloodthirsty rampage against humans. He foolishly thought that with his machete he could simply kill them one by one without realizing how many vampire infants there were and how impossible it would be for him to handle them all alone.
