Due to the obstruction caused by Xiao Qiang, the Locomotive slowed down, delaying its scheduled progress. The vampire babies inside the Cocoon could hardly wait to emerge, and Min Dagang found himself in a dire situation, having been caught in this mess.
Min Dagang was busy slashing at the fallen vampires, while the others that had broken free quickly adapted to the temperature difference between the real world and their incubating shells, and soon began their rampage.
A vampire leaped at him mid-air, startling him. Cursing under his breath, he frantically swung his machete but was unable to fend off the increasing number of vampires.
Terrified, Min Dagang broke into a sweat and started running, but he had no choice but to push aside the vampires blocking his path to the Cocoon. The vampires inside the Cocoon screeched as they rapidly broke free.
The distance from the carriage to the front of the train wasn't far. After Xiao Qiang boarded the front, he swiftly eliminated the Fallen One driving the vehicle. However, he didn't notice what was behind him; a chilling gust of wind brushed against his neck as a claw shot out towards him with lightning speed. He quickly turned and dodged slightly, launching a counterattack.
His dagger pierced into the attacking Fallen One. Xiao Qiang pulled out the dagger with a grim expression, and as a spray of foul blood splattered, he pushed forward. The injured Fallen One desperately grabbed onto a nearby railing but it was too late. The force from the sliding wheels combined with the headwind and external push caused him to lose balance and tumble out of the door, instantly crushed beneath the rolling wheels on the tracks.
Hearing commotion behind him, Xiao Qiang assumed it was that Super Descent plotting something. He hurriedly braced himself against the control lever and leaped back.
Min Dagang was frantically dodging left and right, his mind completely blank. The deadly vampires were relentlessly pursuing him; several times he nearly got caught, leaving him drenched in cold sweat.
As vampires chased him to the middle of the train, he slammed shut an iron door behind him. Suddenly, a loud commotion erupted from behind him in the Cocoon, causing him to scream in terror. At that moment, with vampires surrounding him on both sides, he felt there was no escape.
Just when Min Dagang was at his wit's end, a hand suddenly reached out from beneath the Cocoon and slapped him. This startled him so much that he almost lost his mind and swung wildly.
Xiao Qiang grabbed his hand and scolded, "Have you lost your mind? Where's Wen Kai?"
"Boss, you scared me to death," Min Dagang gasped as he was pulled back by Xiao Qiang. Several vampires had already emerged from their shells; together they fought against those that had broken free while other vampires crashed through the closed iron door.
Running away was futile; Min Dagang suddenly raised his machete and sliced through the ceiling of the carriage. Sunlight streamed into the cabin—those vampires that had emerged and those that had broken through were practically doomed in its light. Under its rays, each vampire emitted piercing shrieks as they burst into black smoke before igniting into flames, turning to ashes in mere moments—faster than any cremation; this was the power of Ultraviolet.
"Well done! You can become a warrior now," Xiao Qiang praised as he patted Min Dagang on the shoulder. His cold gaze swept over Min Dagang as he sternly said, "Quickly check on Wen Kai. If anything happens to him, you better be careful."
Inside the carriage, there were still many vampires hatching from their shells, as well as those that had already emerged. Xiao Qiang needed to get off the train before the city lord finished his preparations, but he was searching for someone.
As he walked forward, a noise came from the roof of the carriage. A sharp sound indicated something hard was scraping against it. Suddenly, a claw reached down from where Xiao Qiang was standing. He silently dodged, trying to see what it was. Finally, he realized it was a translucent white claw, and the long black nails reminded him of the nightmare he had in the dungeon of Huainan Town. Was it her? Just as he was about to reach out and grab the claw, it quickly retracted.
Super Descent. On the roof? Without much thought, Xiao Qiang hurriedly climbed the ladder to the top of the train. The rolling train created strong winds at the top, making his skin shiver; he had to lean his weight on his legs to maintain his balance.
A figure stood on the roof with long hair covering her face, revealing only a small gap. Her eyes glimmered with a faint light as they peeked out from behind her hair, exuding a strange and ominous aura.
It was truly a clash of equals, neither willing to back down. Xiao Qiang sighed; fate played its hand cruelly—once a close companion, now they stood as adversaries.
“Chixia…”
Chixia remained indifferent, her expression cold and devoid of emotion. She was the Super Descent that Xiao Qiang had been desperately searching for. In just a few days apart, her level had evolved at an astonishing pace.
Xiao Qiang wanted to know what had happened—where had she gone in that cave?
“What happened to you?”
“Do you want to know?”
“Why wouldn’t I?”
Chixia slightly closed her eyes and tilted her head back as if basking in the sunset's glow. In reality, she was gathering malevolent energy. Suddenly adjusting her posture, she faced Xiao Qiang with a cold smile and said, “You wouldn’t want to know who saved me.”
“Who?” Xiao Qiang found it difficult to confront a woman with whom he once shared deep feelings. Even if they were to fight, he needed to clarify things first.
Chixia's eyes were filled with killing intent, devoid of any emotion. She said softly, "It was the Vampire Queen who saved me. You have no idea what it's like to be torn apart by countless sharp fangs and claws. In that moment, I died. Chixia died. It was the Queen who extended her hand, awakening me with her blood."
"Vampire Queen?" Xiao Qiang whispered to himself, realizing why he had only seen male vampires in the cave and not a single Female Vampire. Were all those cocoons hanging in the carriage the work of the female Vampire Queen?
"Hahaha, you didn't see this coming, did you? I am ten times stronger than you now," Chixia sneered, enticing him further. "If you are willing to join us, I will still be your servant."
"Dream on," Xiao Qiang shouted furiously.
Although Chixia had become a Super Descent, she couldn't attack recklessly. After all, she was facing the ever-dominant Xiao Qiang, whose aura radiated a palpable killing intent, surrounded by a visible mist of blood-red energy.
The innate sense of fear left her lacking in confidence. Seeing that persuasion had failed, she steeled herself and lunged forward like the wind, swift as lightning.
This was power; even though the train was moving slowly, it still jolted. Yet Chixia flew toward him as if walking on flat ground. No matter how Xiao Qiang calculated, he never anticipated her current strength.
Caught off guard, he was pushed back several steps by her overwhelming energy. In a flash, Chixia's claws were already reaching for him, sharp as iron hooks, striking toward Xiao Qiang's face with lightning speed.
Chixia's expression was icy as she closed in on him step by step. Suddenly, pain sliced through him like ice penetrating to the bone. The situation unfolded so suddenly that he struggled to retreat. The wind on the roof made the train sway violently; he lost his balance and stumbled backward, falling at the junction between the engine and the carriage.
