In the dark crevices of the stone, a slender, bright red worm caught Wen Kai's attention. The worm was about the size of an earthworm, but strangely, he couldn't see any legs. How was it moving?
Curious, he extended his finger in front of the worm's path. Amusingly, this worm seemed to have no eyes and mistook his outstretched finger for a bridge made of stone, climbing onto it without hesitation.
Feeling overly lonely, Wen Kai found it entertaining and watched the worm with bright eyes, suddenly struck by an impulse to capture it. He looked around for something to hold the worm in and suddenly noticed a transparent glass bottle not far from where he squatted. It appeared to be foggy inside and was carelessly discarded.
Wen Kai picked up the bottle and rubbed it gently with his sleeve before inspecting it again. The inside was still murky, but he thought to himself that there was no better bottle available. With that in mind, he placed the worm into the bottle.
Just as he finished securing the worm, Min Dagang returned.
Seeing that Wen Kai was fine, Min Dagang let out a sigh of relief. His attention had been focused on the train and he hadn’t noticed the bottle in Wen Kai's hand.
The train continued to rumble forward when Chixia thought that Xiao Qiang had already met his end under its wheels, only for him to suddenly appear from behind.
One side represented evil, while the other stood for justice—two forces clashing?
They faced each other silently, a palpable tension radiating from both sides as their murderous intent collided in the wind, producing a metallic sound.
Xiao Qiang's resurgence instantly amplified his killing aura.
"What?!" Xiao Qiang shouted, moving as swiftly as a leopard and as fast as a sword.
At the same time, Chixia launched an attack from mid-air. The clash of their unparalleled killing intent resonated loudly; both retreated a step in perfect synchrony, already injured.
Chixia's skin was torn by Xiao Qiang's fierce aura, a trickle of blood slowly flowing from the corner of his lips. Yet those glowing eyes remained fixed on his opponent.
With a hiss, Xiao Qiang's clothes fluttered violently in the wind, tearing apart inch by inch. He stepped back to stabilize himself and let out a cold snort; the deep wariness in his eyes turned icy at that moment. "I'll send you to the afterlife." With that declaration, he surged forward again to launch another strike.
"There's room for both you and me in hell," Chixia retorted defiantly, raising an eyebrow as her glowing figure flickered before leaping into the air to pounce forward. The chilling glow surged toward him.
Xiao Qiang sensed her lethal intent approaching rapidly.
At that moment, the city lord’s carefully prepared explosive device was ready. Fifty meters away, he watched as Chixia and Xiao Qiang fought fiercely atop the train.
Filled with concern, he gazed at the detonator tied to the explosive device on the tracks before looking down at his own trigger. Hesitating, he wondered whether or not to detonate it!
Xiao Qiang spotted the city lord amidst the chaos. In a brief moment of combat, he shouted, "Detonate!"
The city lord, though burdened with dread, extended his trembling finger and pressed down hard on the detonator. A deafening explosion erupted, merging the wind's currents with the blast's heat waves, creating an unstoppable force. With a resounding boom, a shockwave swept through, overturning the tracks as flames engulfed the entire train.
The thunderous sound of the explosion and the surging heat rushed toward the city lord like a whirlwind. He anxiously gazed at the burning train, silently repeating to himself, "That brat better be okay."
With the explosion successful, Min Dagang hurriedly picked up Wen Kai and rushed over to inspect the scene. His heart raced when he couldn't find Xiao Qiang. Suddenly, an object fell from the sky, landing with a sharp clatter but remaining intact. He looked down to see a dagger.
Ignoring the dagger that had been flung from the explosion, he turned to the city lord and demanded sharply, "Hey, where's my boss?"
The city lord was also focused on the strange dagger and did not respond to Min Dagang's question. Sweating profusely from the intense heat, he was more anxious than Min Dagang as he stared at the thick smoke surrounding the still-burning train, hoping for a miracle.
"Where's my boss?" Min Dagang shouted angrily, noticing Wen Kai on the ground looking lost as he searched for Xiao Qiang. He stormed up to the city lord, gesturing wildly and raising his voice in frustration.
The city lord grunted in response, his expression darkening as he growled, "Don't provoke me." As he issued this warning, his fingers clenched tightly, producing a cracking sound as his solid fist swung toward Min Dagang.
Wen Kai stood frozen in shock while Min Dagang covered his injured nose with one hand. When he opened his palm to look, it was covered in blood. The blood acted like a silent catalyst; his face flushed crimson as rage boiled within him.
Wen Kai had a premonition that a fight was about to break out between them. He slowly began to back away while anxiously watching them.
Sure enough, Min Dagang let out a furious roar like an exposed lion defending its throne and lunged at the city lord. The two became entangled in a chaotic struggle on the dark cobblestones.
Wen Kai continued to retreat but suddenly tripped over a protruding stone and lost his balance. Just then, a pair of warm hands reached out from behind him to steady him.
Instinctively turning around, his face lit up with joy as he exclaimed, "Big Brother!"
"Yeah," Xiao Qiang replied. He glanced at the two grappling on the ground and furrowed his brow as he asked Wen Kai, "What are they doing?"
"They..." Wen Kai hesitated before suddenly darting away from Xiao Qiang with excitement, jumping up and shouting, "Big Brother is alive!"
Upon hearing Wen Kai's words, the two fighters froze mid-battle. They exchanged glances at their disheveled states before reaching out to shake hands—above them, the city lord pulled Min Dagang up from the ground.
The city lord turned to Xiao Qiang and quickly stepped forward to embrace him briefly. "You scared me to death," he said.
Xiao Qiang extended his hand to shake Min Dagang's, flashing a bright smile at the city lord. "I'm quite lucky; it's not that easy to die. Besides, our troubles have only just begun."
"Why is that?"
"Just look."
The others followed Xiao Qiang's gaze and saw an H3 Hummer approaching the burning Locomotive.
Min Dagang stared blankly at the approaching vehicle, and suddenly his expression changed. "It's them."
Xiao Qiang understood who Min Dagang was referring to. He quietly observed the Visitor stepping out of the car.
The Visitor was dressed entirely in black, with a rather pale complexion that looked somewhat sickly. Despite appearing weak, his eyes were sharp and piercing. Accompanying him was a younger man. The former coldly scanned the still-burning train before glancing back at Xiao Qiang, seemingly searching for any signs of disguise on him, but what came out of his mouth was unexpectedly polite.
"You did well."
"And you are?" Xiao Qiang asked, voicing what he truly thought.
