Time flies. As Xiao Qiang sat once again on the Transport Aircraft, he suddenly realized there were many things left undone. After a restless night, his mind was filled with her shadow, leaving him feeling dizzy.
Now, they were still some distance from the war zone, and he needed to inform Liu Yi about the situation immediately.
“Liu Yi, do you believe in what I say?”
Liu Yi looked surprised. “Of course I believe you. Why wouldn’t I?”
Xiao Qiang lowered his head and squeezed into the KT3 Mechanical Battle Suit, feeling genuinely uncomfortable. “In this battle, we have almost no chance of winning. The aircraft might get hit hard soon. We can jump out early.”
“This… I need a reason.”
“I can’t explain it all right now, but just trust me. It might save a few lives.”
“You mean we might be wiped out?”
“I can’t say for sure. Hurry up!”
Seeing Xiao Qiang’s serious demeanor and knowing that no one would joke about such matters, Liu Yi decisively nodded. “I hope you’re not paranoid. This time, I’ll trust you.”
Liu Yi really prepared to jump early, and the crew began to discuss Xiao Qiang's words, unsure whether to believe him or not.
Barbarian, the deputy leader, did not agree with Liu Yi’s decision, which was understandable. Thus, Xiao Qiang’s plan ended in failure once again as the aircraft continued forward until they reached the occupied area.
This time, Xiao Qiang wasn’t drowsy; he was wide awake. The parachute didn’t get stuck, and he hadn’t yet figured out the operation procedures of the KT3 Mechanical Battle Suit when the aircraft was hit hard. Amidst the flames, they all jumped out.
Parachutes opened like white clouds in mid-air. The ground was shrouded in smoke, revealing scattered corpses. The stench of blood mixed with dust was pervasive.
Having learned from his previous experience, Xiao Qiang remained calm this time. In mid-air, he grabbed the parachute’s pull cord and noticed many Allied Transport Aircraft arriving with soldiers of various skin colors and races.
Some soldiers were still in mid-air when they were attacked by Mimetic Bionic Aliens and tragically perished while still attached to their parachutes. As Xiao Qiang landed on the ground, he hastily tore off his parachute and clumsily moved his mechanical battle legs through the chaos below.
Mimetic Organisms lurked in the mud, resembling squids at the bottom of the sea; they launched sudden attacks whenever humans approached. Soldiers who faced repeated assaults had no survivors.
Amidst gunfire, Xiao Qiang searched for Barbarian.
Boom! Boom! Boom! The familiar rumbling sound came from his left side. Turning his head, he saw Barbarian and shouted, “Barbarian! Watch out!” Hearing this, Barbarian quickly stepped back to avoid debris from a downed Transport Aircraft but didn’t expect that just as he dodged it, a lurking Mimetic Alien Creature suddenly burst from the ground and swiftly wrapped its tentacles around him.
The Mechanical Battle Suit on Barbarian provided protection at that moment; although he was dragged by the Mimetic Alien Creature and slammed against protruding rocks, he sustained no injuries.
The scene unfolded too quickly for Xiao Qiang to intervene; he could only watch as Barbarian narrowly escaped decapitation but was once again captured by the Mimetic Alien Creature.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to help; rather, an unexpected turn of events occurred—the spinning propeller of a Transport Aircraft came barreling toward him. Fortunately, that damned Mechanical Battle Suit felt like a heavy shackle that trapped him like a puppet without any agility left; the propeller barely missed slicing off his head.
The spinning propeller continued whirring but automatically turned after colliding with a rock and rolled away in another direction.
Xiao Qiang broke into a cold sweat as he managed to push himself up from the ground amidst the chaos; his companions who had just disembarked were nowhere to be found.
Barbarian had been dragged away by a Mimetic Organism and finally got stuck on a rock. Strangely enough, this creature hadn’t killed him yet. Hmph! If you won’t kill me, then I won’t hold back! Barbarian activated his weapon system… As he looked down, the Mimetic Organism curled its tentacles and rolled slightly; when he looked up again, he was startled by its actions—this creature exhibited high intelligence.
Its ugly little eyes were deeply set beneath thick folds of skin as it observed him closely… In an instant, Barbarian swiftly raised his arm and fired at this seemingly clumsy yet ferocious creature from two feet away with his rotating submachine gun, turning its head into a bloody mess.
Gasping for breath as he crawled up from behind the rock, it seemed someone was calling out behind him. Turning around to look revealed it was Xiao Qiang… A strong gust of wind accompanied by roaring sounds rushed past him.
Not catching what Xiao Qiang shouted clearly, Barbarian took a small step back and turned to see what was causing that rumbling sound when suddenly—thud! The spinning propeller severed his head clean off.
Even in death, Barbarian never understood why the Mimetic Organism had observed him so closely—it was because a massive propeller had gotten stuck where they were located; focused solely on dealing with the grotesque Mimicry creature made him overlook other changes around him.
Damn it! Xiao Qiang was furious as he swung his arm vigorously; faint mechanical sounds emanated from his shoulder as if he had unintentionally activated the Mechanical Battle Suit. He decisively raised his left arm and told himself: Move!
As he lifted his foot in the Mechanical Battle Suit, it surprisingly felt lighter than before. In an instant, Xiao Qiang understood that controlling and manipulating the Mechanical Battle Suit didn’t require someone else’s teaching—it relied on merging his will with it.
A Mimetic Bionic Alien emerged in his line of sight as he prepared to shoot; issuing commands in his mind while raising his right arm caused two fire points to extend from his back—‘da da da’—the Bionic Alien found itself under fire as its rolling speed slowed down slightly.
Wow! This feels great! Xiao Qiang gleefully patted the Mechanical Battle Suit when unexpectedly that monster extended its tentacles from below ground and ensnared his mechanical leg because he hadn’t noticed its ability to burrow underground. Caught off guard, he was yanked into an awkward position.
Just as it seemed he would be dragged away by this creature lying on his back on the ground, he raised his arm and sprayed bullets at its tentacles—one retracted while another immediately lunged at him.
In that critical moment, a large knife flew through the air; its gleaming blade flashed as a corrosive green liquid sprayed from the damaged tentacle.
The tentacle recoiled in shock as Xiao Qiang was saved; after being pulled up by someone else to regain his footing, he finally saw that the goddess wore a different type of Mechanical Battle Suit than theirs.
