Tired of reincarnation, Xiao Qiang suddenly wished to die once more because of Lin Yu's situation. Just after stepping out of the military camp's temporary hospital, he encountered Barbarian and Liu Yi at the entrance.
This time, Xiao Qiang did not fight with them nor did any other conflicts arise; thus, they had yet to understand each other. Due to this new recruit's unauthorized departure, they intended to take him back for punishment.
Xiao Qiang could not reveal the secret between him and Lin Yu and could only grit his teeth and accept each punishment in silence. In order to expose the conspiracy behind the pendant Stratum before Lin Yu fell victim to the toxic mist, he boldly asked Liu Yi and the others to execute him on the spot.
His words were like a bombshell, shocking all members of Team N. No one wanted to die; yet here was someone asking for death…
"Bah! Coward! You should go out on the battlefield and kill a few enemies before you die. That way, you can leave a good reputation for your descendants."
"Tomorrow's Battle, you all will die."
"Waste," Barbarian spat contemptuously and whispered something to Liu Yi. The two agreed to deal with this guy who dared to meet with a goddess privately tonight.
"Are you two planning to have me patrol shirtless tonight?" Xiao Qiang's expression darkened as he fixed his gaze on Barbarian and said, "You will die under a plane's propeller."
Then he continued speaking under the astonished gazes of Team N members: "Behind Fourth Barracks is a training ground; this is what Team Leader Liu Yi told me. I just came from that route where a tragedy occurred. If I die once, I can prevent the goddess from being harmed by the toxic mist."
Xiao Qiang spoke to himself without anyone engaging with him. Barbarian quietly signaled Liu Yi with a gesture, and both of them—along with other team members—rushed forward.
They tightly bound Xiao Qiang, who was desperate for death, with rope and taped his incessantly chattering mouth shut before contacting Captain L to report his unusual behavior.
Captain L naturally praised them for their actions and agreed that they had done well.
With Tomorrow's Battle approaching, there was a flurry of activity in the military camp as various troops prepared for war. Armored units lined up while soldiers donned Mechanical Battle Suits ready for deployment. Transport Aircraft buzzed back and forth frequently; automatic lift doors opened with a heavy mechanical sound as MctcH Mech Suits nearly bent soldiers' knees under their weight while tightly encasing their legs.
The sky was filled with Transport Aircraft setting off towards the front lines in grand formation. Xiao Qiang struggled in vain; he wished he had just beaten them up like before and conquered these stubborn fellows by force.
Barbarian mockingly teased Xiao Qiang, who had been brought to the front lines by Shu Bo: "Buddy, your clothes are a problem."
Xiao Qiang, with his mouth taped shut, could only make muffled sounds, his brows furrowing as he cursed inwardly, "You won't even know how you die later. What a show-off."
"Five minutes left. Everyone prepare to pull the parachute cords. Jump on my command," Liu Yi declared, striding down the aisle with an air of authority. When he reached Xiao Qiang, he paused and asked, "What do you want to say?"
Xiao Qiang struggled to remove the tape and shouted, "The plane is under attack!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a deafening explosion rocked the cabin, flames shooting up into the air. Liu Yi yelled, "Jump now!"
This time, Xiao Qiang was ready. He activated the scanning system of his Mechanical Battle Suit and jumped out of the plane. In mid-air, thousands of Alliance Army soldiers were descending to the ground.
He sensed that due to his previous modifications, things seemed different this time. The soldiers who had landed first were already engaged in battle with Mimetic Bionic Creatures.
Liu Yi muttered something strange, "How did the enemy know we were coming?" Then he shouted to the members of N Group, "Take your positions and secure advantageous terrain!"
As Barbarian passed by Xiao Qiang, he teased, "Kid, watch your back. No one’s here to protect you."
The Mimetic Alien Creatures charged forward with terrifying speed, their movements as swift as a running leopard.
Liu Yi led his team to a depression in the ground, believing it would provide cover. However, they were ambushed by enemies already lying in wait there. Just as they all retreated into the pit, several Mimetic Bionic Monsters burst forth from below, covered in writhing tentacles.
Liu Yi shouted for everyone to scatter, but it was too late. Aside from Barbarian and Xiao Qiang managing to escape, others were either attacked and devoured by monsters or shot by stray bullets. The once formidable team quickly turned into a disorganized rout.
Barbarian thrived in this chaotic battlefield. He cursed fiercely, "Monsters! Let me show you what I can do!" Fueled by rage, he fought back against the creatures with ferocity.
Xiao Qiang also held his ground, fighting while retreating. He kept in mind that the goddess had been killed by a monster before and deliberately searched for her but overlooked Barbarian's peril.
Barbarian shot down several monsters and laughed triumphantly, "Haha! We won!"
Hearing his shout, Xiao Qiang turned around just in time—he rushed forward and pushed Barbarian aside. The plane plummeted from above, engulfed in flames that quickly consumed him.
No! I can't go back! My will can control reincarnation! Xiao Qiang thought in shock. As soon as this thought crossed his mind, he found himself back on the battlefield amidst chaos once again.
Instinctively checking himself for burns revealed he was unharmed. This time he learned his lesson; upon seeing Liu Yi retreat into the pit again, he shouted that there was an ambush inside.
Liu Yi ignored him and continued to retreat.
Xiao Qiang grabbed the last Barbarian and warned him about traps in the pit. But it was too late; those who had entered were already under attack.
Barbarian was furious; raising his arm filled with rage, he unleashed a barrage of firepower that kept the attacking Mimetic Bionic Monsters at bay within a hundred-meter range. He shouted boastfully, "We won!"
Xiao Qiang was a few seconds faster than before and pushed him away without hesitation.
The pushed Barbarian cursed back, "Get lost!" But in that moment of distraction, he was struck by the remnants of the Transport Aircraft, which had been hit by the Mimetic Organism. As it spun down, the deadly propeller cleanly severed his head.
"Damn it," Xiao Qiang swore as he rushed towards the goddess. He sprinted forward and tackled her unexpectedly. "Don't get me wrong, I'm here to save you."
The goddess, annoyed, pushed him away and remarked, "You have a hole in your chest." He froze at her words and reached out to touch it. To his shock, as the goddess stood up, she took the opportunity to grab his Mechanical Battle Suit's spare Multi-Function Battery Storage Unit.
