Even if you have the Ability, so what? The opponent is not even human; it is a Supreme Being. The flames it spews can instantly melt you if you cannot dodge in time. Lin Yu had not reacted in the plane and was unable to escape. Fortunately, the aircraft's exterior provided some protection, temporarily keeping him out of danger. In a fit of rage, Xiao Qiang leaped into the room like a cannonball.
The creature, a vile beast, was tightly pressed against the aircraft's shell, pushing it to crash through the wall and collapse the already unstable building, charging in to attack Xiao Qiang.
Xiao Qiang grabbed his weapon and unleashed a barrage of fire at the monster clinging to the plane's exterior. The creature was hit repeatedly, its body bursting like fireworks as it staggered back, forced to abandon its assault on him.
The out-of-control plane spun again and crashed into another wall, bouncing back and flinging him out through an opening. Meanwhile, Xiao Qiang's firepower had knocked the monster down. Seizing a shard of glass from the collapsed debris, he raised it high and plunged it into the writhing creature's abdomen as it screeched and struggled to retaliate.
The dying sounds of the monster were similar to that of a rat. Its twitching tentacles continued to thrash powerfully. Xiao Qiang spat out blood and saliva, hurriedly checking on Lin Yu's condition.
Kneeling beside the gasping Lin Yu, Xiao Qiang felt tears welling up. He trembled as he lifted her head slowly.
Lin Yu weakly opened her eyes. "Wen Kai, Li Hang..." Xiao Qiang understood her meaning; she was urging him to ensure that Wen Kai and Li Hang were brought along when she woke up again. They had once fought together against the Skeleton Mutant as comrades in arms. Perhaps this time they would need to collaborate once more to eliminate the Mimetic Organism.
"Okay," Xiao Qiang said sorrowfully as he looked at Lin Yu's increasingly pale face. Ignoring the biological tentacles surrounding them like an electric net, he placed his handgun into her palm and encouraged her, "You can do it."
He wondered if anyone had ever experienced knowing they would die again only to wake up once more while still fearing death. Xiao Qiang was terrified that Lin Yu might disappear during this incident; he wanted her to take her own life.
As hordes of creatures surged forward, Lin Yu struggled to pull the trigger...
When Xiao Qiang woke up, the first thing he did was rush to the training ground to check on Lin Yu.
Time restarted; they were beginning anew while Lin Yu lost her memories once again.
Each time he awoke, he would methodically accompany Lin Yu to find Han Ming. This time, however, he did not wake up in time. It felt like a dream—a frozen dam surrounded by snow-covered mountains. He felt as if his soul were detaching from his body as he moved slowly, his gaze shifting with his sensations.
He heard a tinkling sound resembling dripping water from melting ice and snow, drawing closer step by step through a long corridor whose walls were made not of stone slabs but rather an incredibly tough imitation granite material.
A strange force beckoned him forward through the long corridor that was quiet and dark enough to be frightening. This strange power emanated from below a staircase at the end of the passage.
It seemed like a Stratum flood discharge channel beneath the stairs. As Xiao Qiang felt himself descending toward the lowest level, that strange force urgently called out to him.
At the bottom of the discharge channel appeared three-dimensional equations casting blue light that scattered around like seawater—an eye-catching sight filled with alluring colors reminiscent of a legendary crystal palace.
As Xiao Qiang continued forward, getting closer to the light show, it suddenly flickered before revealing a colossal Mimetic Organism right in front of him.
The gigantic creature radiated dazzling light, especially its small eyes sunken beneath thick folds of skin that sparkled with cunning malice and ambitious glints.
It seemed to notice Xiao Qiang approaching clumsily and boastfully without any weapons. He panicked, unsure how to deal with this dominant behemoth that Jack and others feared discussing.
In his moment of confusion and disarray, he suddenly awakened. Unbeknownst to him, during this cycle of time restarting, some subconscious part of him had been found by the monster and tempted into its lair. If he hadn’t awakened in time, one could only imagine the consequences.
This time he awoke without incident. His first thought was to check on Lin Yu’s condition. When he rushed recklessly into the training ground and saw her lying there unharmed amidst spinning blades,
he stood there quietly gazing at her.
She suddenly sat up with an inquisitive look fixed on him. "What’s going on?"
Xiao Qiang glanced at Lin Yu with a look of pity, a smile playing at the corners of his lips as he nodded, "It's nothing, I just went to the wrong place." He turned and walked away, leaving her to ponder his retreating figure, a vague sense of loss stirring in her heart.
Halfway through, he was caught by the aggressive members of N Group and escorted back to the Campsite. Xiao Qiang's distraction during training had resulted in punishment for the entire team.
They needed to vent their frustrations on him. Unlike before, Xiao Qiang did not resort to force to conquer them; instead, he silently accepted all forms of punishment. His resolve was firm, shedding the initial frivolity and complaints, and he quietly devised a plan. When Tomorrow's Battle arrived again, he requested more ammunition and powerful weapons like Grenades.
On the battlefield, he ignored what was meant to happen. Amidst the chaos of war, he sought out the path he once walked with Lin Yu, finding the amusement park in the devastated area and locating that vehicle. He drove it into battle against the attacking Mimetic Organisms.
The vehicle still had no fuel. He got out and walked back to the place where Lin Yu had died. There, he saw the Agricultural Helicopter hidden from view as Mimetic Organisms launched their assault. With a heart hardened by vengeance, he swiftly killed one without hesitation. The raging flames licked at the crumbling buildings around him. In a blood-red frenzy, Xiao Qiang's face was indistinguishable between sweat and blood from his injuries during the fight with the Mimetic Organisms. Illuminated by the firelight, it shone brightly. On the ground, an Octopus-like creature squealed and flailed its tentacles in an attempt to escape. He couldn't be bothered to raise his arm; instead, he controlled the Mechanical Tentacles on his shoulder with his mind from a foot away. With a series of rapid shots, he obliterated the Octopus monster. The noise ceased abruptly; no more shrill cries filled his ears. A dirty grin crept onto his face—damn it, a one-man war is so liberating when there are no ties holding you back.
The screeching Mimetic Bionic Alien lay shattered on the ground, its severed tentacles still twitching as Xiao Qiang piloted his aircraft into the sky and flew away.
This was Xiao Qiang's plan: whether one person dies or two people die, death is death—once or a hundred times—it ultimately leads back to the starting point. Rather than let Lin Yu suffer alongside him, it was better to venture alone.
Wherever the plane flew was desolate; mountains and rivers wept in sorrow. The aircraft soared over towering peaks blanketed in Kai Kai snow. The rivers twisted like magical ribbons connecting everything beautifully. Unfortunately, they were now trampled underfoot by the iron heels of Mimetic Organisms, allowing these inhumane Supreme Beings of Alien System to ravage their beautiful land.
A frozen dam appeared below, concealing the mastermind leader of the Supreme Beings within its depths.
