Xiao Qiang understood one thing: when he restarted time, everything else would restart simultaneously. After the reset, aside from him remembering everything that had happened before, no one else retained any memory of past events.

At 4 AM, the transport aircraft would take off on schedule to pick up Lin Yu and Wu Yi.
Jack was quite busy. He and Han Ming worked together using the hair provided by Li Hang and Wen Kai to hastily create a simulated clone. With advancements in high technology, cloning shifted from complex experiments to simple single-cell genetic research topics. Cloning referred to asexual reproduction where an individual provided somatic cells for replication; however, cloning did not imply the ability to produce offspring.
At a motel, Wu Yi mentioned the 2038 Blood Glacier incident to Lin Yu. The source of the virus infection stemmed from a single-celled organism that rapidly reproduced and branched out, infecting the entire glacier.
"Does Matt know about this?" Lin Yu asked in surprise. "Why does it feel like this is related to aliens?"
"Yes, Matt said so too," Wu Yi nodded. "He knows; I brought back a sample of the virus."
"Well, Matt should have a way to deal with this virus."
"Yes, when I left, there were already some leads," Wu Yi deliberately omitted any mention of Xiao Qiang running naked through the wilderness. At this point, he thought of Little Wolf and his eyes sparkled as he said, "Interestingly enough, there was a Little Wolf; it felt like my child..." He became somewhat emotional when mentioning Little Wolf and lowered his head.
"What about Little Wolf?"
"I gave it to an old man. He was very pitiful; he had just lost his wife."
Lin Yu nodded sympathetically. "That is indeed sad." She stared at Wu Yi and suddenly asked, "What were you doing in 2038?"
Wu Yi noticed her sharp gaze as if she were suspicious. "Don't think badly of me; I went to help him."
"What was he like in 2038?"
"Pretty good; he bombed those vicious vampires."
“……” Lin Yu smiled and pressed on, “He… doesn’t have any good news?”
“What do you mean?”
“Like, a romantic encounter or something.”
At this, Wu Yi hesitated for a moment before standing up to find an excuse. “I’ll go check if Xiao Qiang and the others are back.”
“Sit down.” Lin Yu’s cold tone left no room for refusal as he fixed his gaze on Wu Yi.
Wu Yi sat back down, forcing a laugh. “I’ve already told you, there’s nothing to hide.” As soon as he said this, he regretted it, cursing himself inwardly: Damn it, why did that stupid line come out? Isn’t that just drawing attention to it?
“Go on, spill it. I won’t hold it against you,” Lin Yu said with a magnanimous smile, applying both soft and hard tactics.
“He… is too outstanding… so you understand, outstanding men are always liked by…”
“……” Lin Yu shot him a glare. “Spit it out already.”
“Uh… there’s a woman who liked him… but she’s dead now. Died a terrible death.”
“Who was she? What was her name?”
“……Her name was…” Wu Yi frowned in deep thought. “Her name was Feng.”
“Feng?” Lin Yu exclaimed in surprise. “The sister of Yun?”
“Yes, she appeared before Xiao Qiang disguised as you. She looked just like you—like one person. But regardless of how she impersonated you, her demeanor gave her away to Xiao Qiang.”
“And then?”
“……She died…”
"I'm asking you how she died."
Wu Yi began to feel flustered. Damn it, women are so nosy, always digging for the truth. Originally, Matt had said not to let Lin Yu know about this. How did he suddenly think of it?
Seeing Wu Yi's sudden panic, Lin Yu felt even more that something was off. His curiosity to uncover the truth grew stronger.
A terrifying thought crossed his mind. Could it be... "He killed her?"

"Girl, listen to me. This isn't Xiao Qiang's fault. You don't know what happened back then." Seeing Lin Yu glaring at him, Wu Yi's voice grew smaller until he mumbled in his throat, "Actually, you were there too."
"What do you mean I was there?"
"For your childhood, Xiao Qiang endured a lot of suffering."
"My childhood?" Lin Yu was confused. Was Wu Yi weaving a story that entangled her, or was her mind failing her? A rumbling sound echoed, and they exchanged a glance before rushing outside.
A transport helicopter slowly descended onto the parking lot of the motel. Xiao Qiang stepped down from the aircraft.
"Hey, Lin Yu! You two hurry up!"
Lin Yu shot him a fierce glare but remained silent as she brushed past him to gather her gear.
Xiao Qiang looked puzzled at Wu Yi. "What's wrong with her?"
Wu Yi dared not look at Xiao Qiang for long; he hurriedly lowered his head and went to put on the MctcH Mech Suit.
Lin Yu wore a grim expression as she donned her MctcH Mech Suit, sitting stiffly in the cabin of the transport helicopter.
Xiao Qiang sat beside her on the plane, looking bewildered. He leaned in and whispered, "Are you feeling unwell?"
Lin Yu stared blankly ahead, ignoring the concerned greeting directed at him.
Confused, he turned his gaze to Wu Yi, who hurriedly lowered his head, giving off the impression of having done something shameful.
"Lin Yu, did Wu Yi do something bad?"
"He didn't do anything wrong; it was you who did something bad."
Xiao Qiang was speechless and pondered for a moment, "What did I do wrong?"
"You know it in your heart."
Li Hang noticed the tension between the two and teased, "Hey, we haven't even seen the enemy yet, and you two are already at war."
