Xiao Qiang had not yet had the chance to gather any information when he heard rustling sounds coming from a distance. Soon, several people hurriedly approached; they were bodyguards of the Shagu Family. From their demeanor, it seemed they had discovered something.
These individuals were dressed in dark blue uniforms, their movements disciplined and their gazes cold, exuding an air of menace. Xiao Qiang concealed himself in the shadows, equipped with night vision; he could see them, but they could not detect his hiding place.
One of them, seemingly the leader, bent down to the window and spoke in Russian. As soon as he began to speak, the interior fell silent.
Shagu Huo Nan stormed to the door and shouted angrily, "Aren't you supposed to use that thing? You bunch of useless fools, hurry up and search!" With his command issued, everyone quickly dispersed to search for Xiao Qiang's whereabouts.
Xiao Qiang couldn't understand their words but sensed that things were not looking good. He remained motionless in the dark corner; the more dangerous a place was, the safer it often turned out to be. After all, this location was closest to Shagu Huo Nan's family. Regardless of how they guessed, they would never think someone was lurking nearby.
Ms. Bell handed the girl over to a nanny and joined the search for Xiao Qiang.
In no time, the Shigu residence was bustling with activity as torches were raised and shouts echoed throughout, conducting a thorough search of the premises. However, after a short while, Xiao Qiang began to feel that his assumptions might have been wrong.
Just as he witnessed Shagu Huo Nan leaving with his men, he stealthily slipped into the room they had just occupied.
Inside was a nanny and a girl who had clearly been crying; her face still bore traces of tears, her eyes red and her features quite delicate. His sudden entrance startled both of them. The girl widened her eyes and almost screamed but was quickly silenced by the nanny's hand over her mouth.
Xiao Qiang raised a finger to his lips and turned around to close the door. "Shh."
"Why didn't you leave?" The nanny questioned in a low voice as she shielded the girl.
"I heard her crying," Xiao Qiang replied, looking at the girl who appeared pitiful and panicked. He nodded and continued, "What happened?"
The nanny remained silent and walked to the door to check if anyone was still searching outside. Seeing that they were no longer in the courtyard, she turned back to Xiao Qiang and said, "You’re an outsider; you shouldn’t get involved. You need to leave quickly."
"I can go out whenever I want," he said sharply, fixing his gaze on her.
The nanny felt uneasy under his intense stare and lowered her head, pretending to protect the girl as she said, "Don't scare Miss."
"You keep urging me to leave; what are your true intentions?" Xiao Qiang felt that the nanny was hiding something. Her evasive words and panicked eyes only confirmed his suspicions further.
At that moment, he noticed that the girl being protected by the nanny was trembling all over, seemingly very frightened. Xiao Qiang cautiously stepped closer when unexpectedly, the nanny made an unbelievable move—she swiftly drew a dagger from her skirt belt. The cold blade was not aimed at Xiao Qiang but pressed against the girl's neck as she threatened him to step back.
The situation unfolded suddenly and inexplicably; clearly, it was Xiao Qiang who had intruded into their home, yet now he found himself being coerced by the nanny.
The leverage in this threat was none other than Shagu Huo Nan's biological daughter, Shagu Nianzhuzhu.
"Wait! What do you mean by this?"
The nanny sneered, "I am also entrusted to handle matters for others. I wanted to settle things with you inside the house, but unfortunately, you are too clever. In this unavoidable situation, I had no choice but to play the good person to gain your trust, hoping you would walk into my trap. Unfortunately, you have repeatedly thwarted my carefully laid plans."
With a dagger in hand, the nanny held Nian Zhu firmly, forcing her to move towards the door.
"You can't get out. Her father has already set up a tight net," Xiao Qiang recalled Shagu Huo Nan's earlier behavior. It seemed they were not here for him; they must be looking for someone else.
"Hahaha, you're mistaken. Our people should have already dealt with that unfilial son, Shagu Huo Nan," the nanny said confidently, her demeanor calm and collected. Xiao Qiang couldn't help but gasp in shock.
"Could it be that you are..."
Indeed, the once noisy Shigu mansion had suddenly fallen silent. In this quiet atmosphere, an undercurrent of murderous intent spread silently.
Just as Xiao Qiang faced off against the nanny, two opposing forces suddenly appeared outside the Shigu mansion. One group was from Shagu Huo Nan, while the other was led by an unknown figure clad in black—Masked Man.
Masked Man quickly subdued the bodyguards and security personnel under Shagu Huo Nan. He and his wife, Bell, barely had time to retreat when a slender figure in black approached them directly.
From the eyes behind the black mask, Shagu Huo Nan recognized something and exclaimed in surprise, "It's you!"
The person in black stood before them with a disdainful smile and coldly said, "It is I." With that, he pulled off his mask to reveal a face that was all too familiar—it was his father's personal doctor.
"You wicked Malicious Woman, how could someone as beautiful as you possess such a venomous heart?"
"I'm malicious? You should reflect on your own heart," the doctor retorted. "You let bacteria spores and pollen spread through the air, releasing compounds that almost filled your patient's capillaries, leading him to an allergic death."
"He deserved it! He used our family's wealth to pursue unrealistic experiments and the elixir of immortality—Secret Recipe. He was obsessed with the serum from jd members and went to any lengths for some grand blood transfusion."
The private doctor grinned wickedly as he approached Shagu Huo Nan, leaning close to his ear with a sinister expression and said, "Now that we are at this point, I have a secret to tell you..."
Upon hearing the doctor's words, Shagu Huo Nan's expression changed dramatically; he stood frozen like a puppet.
Meanwhile, Bell was restrained by another figure in black—another Masked Man. She glared angrily at the enchanting woman before her and said, "You are the doctor we hired! Now that old man has passed away, there's no need for you here!"
Shagu Huo Nan looked at his wife, trembling lips wanting to say something. The doctor snorted impatiently before he could speak; a pen was already plunged violently into his carotid artery—Capillary.
"Ahhh..." Shagu Huo Nan opened his mouth wide, his eyes bulging as if they would burst. Yet he couldn't utter a word before collapsing to the ground. Before Bell could even scream in shock, he was dead.
With her mouth covered, Bell struggled anxiously.
The private doctor’s cold gaze locked onto Bell's face as he warned her, "Behave yourself; otherwise, you'll meet the same fate as him."
"Who exactly are you, and why do you dare to target us, the Shagu Family?"
The private doctor, with a shadowy expression on his face, curled his lips into a strange smile and replied in a disdainful tone, "I am Nihilist, a new breed of mutant. I also have another flashy name: Plum Blossom Rain."
The nanny was in league with the private doctor. She had repeatedly pretended to leave the Shigu estate but had secretly set a trap. It was only because of the incident where Shagu Huo Nan reprimanded his daughter that she had not been able to leave. What connection did the private doctor have with Plum Blossom Rain? The first time he saw the private doctor, he felt an uncanny familiarity. It seemed that Plum Blossom Rain had infiltrated the Shagu Family wearing a mask. Xiao Qiang suddenly recalled this name and looked toward the nanny, who had already walked to the door. Frowning, he smiled at her back and said, "Hi, Mr. Shagu Huo Nan."
