With Xiao Qiang's assistance, Xiao Yu uncovered a hidden path and slipped into the dark tunnel leading to Cold Star's waiting area.
During this time, armed vampire patrols occasionally passed by. Fortunately, the entrance to the tunnel chosen by Xiao Yu was located in a narrow dark cave. From inside the cave, one could see outside clearly; however, from outside looking in, it was pitch black.

She felt an impulsive thought that even dying at this moment would be worth it.
Han Shaoyu was searching for Cold Star. At the entrance of the secret passage, Xiao Qiang received news and hurriedly picked up a stone to throw into the dark abyss. The stone fell into the depths with an echoing sound, startling the pair of lovers hiding together.
Two future leaders from different races were reluctant to part ways but had no choice but to leave each other behind.
Han Shaoyu questioned Cold Star about her absence during the activities. Cold Star replied that she had been delayed by other matters.
"Are you disobeying orders?"
"I will pay more attention in the future." In front of so many tribespeople, Cold Star didn’t dare to argue back with her father. Normally, she would have acted cute to smooth things over.
"This time during Surrounding Capture, make sure to observe that warrior's actions closely. If anything goes wrong, you will have to deal with it."
"Understood." Cold Star took the cup of blood wine her father handed her and tilted her head back to drink it all at once. The blood wine slid down her throat and merged into her organs, awakening a latent power within her. She looked at her father in surprise and asked, "Is this your blood?"
"Yes. You truly are my authentic heir." Han Shaoyu declared. "I grant you life and bestow upon you power; you must be unconditionally loyal to me and cannot harbor any thoughts of betrayal."
"Understood." As Cold Star listened to her father's words filled with authority and coldness, she felt a sense of unease creeping into her heart. Recalling what had just happened made her shiver with fear.
Her subtle change did not escape Han Shaoyu's keen eyes as he stood close by. "Have you done something bad behind my back?"
"I'm not sure how it's possible. I'm a bit uncertain about this Surrounding Capture matter..."
"Weren't you always saying you weren't given a chance to train? That time when you acted on impulse and turned back, you ended up not uncovering the truth behind the Mao Cottage Braised incident, but instead brought back an unknown stranger."
"He's not our enemy."
"This person is quite cunning, hiding his abilities in a way that's far from ordinary. Don't let your guard down and lose your life. The ones following you are the most loyal guards of our family. If anything unusual happens, they will sacrifice their lives to protect you."
