Matt disagreed with Professor R's plan to use the hospital's resources to search for Xiao Qiang, but they were struggling with their own limitations. Lin Yu's current situation was unclear; although Yun Yuzhi was in the city, they could not pinpoint her exact location.
It seemed that the area where she was being held captive had anti-magnetic interference and multifunctional intelligent sensors set up. Otherwise, when they sensed her signal and rushed over from afar, they wouldn't have lost track of her.
Xiao Qiang was neither in the future world nor in the Post-Century. Matt's use of the intelligent nano-infrared tracker proved futile. The nano-intelligent infrared tracker was indeed a remarkable device.

The bounty hunter hired to search for Xiao Qiang in another time-space must not leak a single word about it; otherwise, it would bring him danger and trouble. Mukai nodded respectfully at the doctor named Matt, like a chicken pecking at rice.

Professor R shot Wu Yi a fierce glare and rubbed his bald head as he said, "What we lack is funding. Since we can't hire ordinary bounty hunters, we can become bounty hunters ourselves."
"We?" Li Hang and Wen Kai exchanged confused glances, still not fully grasping the professor's meaning.
Wu Yi and Matt reacted strongly, saying "No way." They felt that Professor R's plan to mobilize everyone must have some ulterior motive behind it.
Professor R's gaze sharpened like a blade as he stared at Matt. He walked toward him step by step, extending his finger just shy of poking Matt's forehead, disdain written all over his face. "What's wrong? Do you want to go? Do you have what it takes?"
Matt was furious; he forcefully pushed away Professor R's hand that had reached his face and retorted angrily, "Old man, I know you have bad intentions. If we are to play bounty hunters, I suggest Wu Yi take on that role."
Professor R snorted coldly. "How about drawing lots?"
Mukai had just connected with Li Wen to inform him of the situation here when he turned around and heard Professor R mention drawing lots. He thought this idea was good but wondered if the three participants in the draw actually had any real skills.
The funding party was the hospital, and Professor R's move could be described as killing two birds with one stone. Due to the instability of the situation and the absence of the Guerrilla Military to conduct business with him, he, now aging and frail, was still reluctant to simply fade away. He constantly sought to exert his remaining strength to develop better and more advanced high-tech products.
Unfortunately, they had been operating at a loss for too long and ultimately found themselves in dire straits. They had no choice but to consider leveraging the outbreak of the V2 Zombie Virus to locate Xiao Qiang, hoping to squeeze some profit from this situation.
Drawing lots! This was a game they played in their childhood. Wu Yi, Li Hang, and Wen Kai remembered how they used to bully Xiao Qiang by drawing lots to decide who would do chores like cleaning, laundry, and cooking.
They wrote "Good Person" and "Bad Guy" on the lots. Then, the three of them secretly marked the paper lots beforehand. The first four who drew lots, including Lin Yu, all picked good ones. Only Xiao Qiang drew the bad guy, which meant he had to do all the work, sweating profusely until late before he could eat.
Looking at the paper lots, Wu Yi's eyes grew moist.
Wen Kai and Li Hang, however, seemed unconcerned. The former casually grabbed a lot and opened it… "Wow! It's empty." The latter slowly unfolded his lot, frowning as he said, "It says 'go.'"
Wu Yi opened his lot and found it empty… "What’s this? What’s going on?" He angrily questioned Professor R.
"That's exactly right," Professor R replied with a sly expression.
Matt remained silent, his face dark as he calculated Lin Yu's current situation in his mind.
Wu Yi tore up the paper lot, acting petulantly as he said, "Best out of three."
Upon hearing this, Wen Kai's expression turned grim; confusion flashed in his eyes as he stared intently at Wu Yi and asked, "What do you want?"
In the past, Wu Yi would have feared Wen Kai, but now he was unafraid of anyone.
"What do you want? Want to fight?" As he spoke, he rolled up his sleeves eagerly, revealing his unique fingernails.
Professor R was busy arranging things for Matt and believed he shouldn't get involved in the search for Xiao Qiang. He remarked, "Just look at Wu Yi; he's half beastman—what good can come from him?"
"Half-orcs are not scary; what is truly frightening is human nature and the human heart!" Matt retorted sarcastically.
Professor R scanned the anxious Mukai beside him and quickly softened his tone, saying, "Alright, look at yourselves. Is this how you behave in front of outsiders, without any sense of hierarchy?"
Matt understood the implication behind R's words; he still viewed himself as a student. "Pfft!" He chuckled and gestured to Wu Yi, saying, "Forget it. This isn't a child's game. What do you mean by deciding the outcome in three rounds?"
Although Wu Yi was internally resistant to Matt, he had to give him face, especially in front of someone like Professor R, who had ulterior motives. Reluctantly, he walked over without acknowledging R and strode past them.
The situation was tentatively settled with Wen Kai taking on the role of the bounty hunter. The hospital would negotiate with the authorities to secure a time machine while ensuring that the information remained confidential. The goal was to travel back to Ancient Times to find Xiao Qiang and obtain his serum antidote.
The military was troubled by this matter; their armed forces were on the brink of collapse due to the escalating situation. It felt as if the entire world was boiling over, and regardless of how they tried to suppress or intimidate, it was all in vain.
Mukai had business dealings with the military, supplying them with large quantities of medication at low prices. Therefore, when he stepped in this time, they had no choice but to give him face and expedite the acquisition of a time machine that had already been rigorously utilized.
Along with the time machine, there would also be an M420 Counterattack revolver.
Upon receiving the equipment, Wen Kai had to take an oath: during his possession of the time machine and personal weapon, he would adhere to the firearm regulations outlined in Rule 2812. He must not harm innocents under any pretext while armed. In case of an accident or if special circumstances led to criminal liability for the gun holder, he could not evade responsibility or make excuses; he must unconditionally accept guilt.
