Snow mixed with rain fell from the sky, and the biting cold wind howled. The members of the Vampire Family, clad in Gothic Armor and mounted on their tall steeds, rushed toward a desolate mining area miles away after receiving news from their scouts.
The Beast Werewolves, wandering in the wild, could smell the large-scale hunt that the Vampire Family was about to embark on, putting them at a disadvantage. Thus, before the Vampire Family set out, they had already migrated to another location from the nearby woods.
However, a few brutal and impatient werewolves, eager for blood, continued to harass scattered humans during their migration. Han Shaoyu was particularly concerned about this; according to his plan for dominance, he needed to either tame or eliminate the Beast Werewolves in the future.
Werewolves were a race that reproduced recklessly and were difficult to manage. If he could find a way to cut off their growth trend and utilize them properly, they would become an unstoppable force.
If this force became part of his Vampire Family, there would be a possibility not just of dominating Earth but even of conquering the universe in the days to come.
Han Shaoyu's face, hidden behind a silver mask, revealed a sinister grin. Yet beneath that grin lay a hint of worry, stemming from his concerns about Lin Yu. He found her rebellious nature and pride more challenging to tame than those Beast Werewolves.
In the universe's 80 billion star systems, not every system harbored life. Han Shaoyu's ancestors came from Jupiter among the Eight Major Star Systems: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Many beings from other star systems coveted Earth, especially those from the Blue Star System. They feared the advanced weapons created by Earth's intelligent beings—perfecting day by day and possessing formidable lethality.
Of course, between star systems and their inhabitants, there might be alliances similar to that of Earth's Alliance Army. Star system beings could not exist in their original forms on Earth due to severe pollution and unsuitable temperatures. Had Han Shaoyu's ancestors not mutated successfully, he would not exist today.
Their journey across the ocean from the West was also well thought out. The culture and customs of that region were among the world's leading positions. On the eve of Nuclear War, no violent or bloody events occurred there. Thus arose legends that vampires originated from the West.
However, the Blue Star System was the most powerful among the Eight Major Star Systems and possessed the capability to destroy Earth. Yet beings from Jupiter reached an agreement with leaders of the Blue Star People: if they could successfully dominate Earth in the future, plans to destroy it would be canceled.
As for humanity as Earth's rulers? Could they just sit back and wait for doom? Absolutely not! Humans were resilient beings with extraordinary intelligence; even without abilities, they possessed wisdom surpassing all beings across star systems.
Many years ago, scientists had been researching Superhuman Species. However, during this research process, opportunists like Professor R exploited weaknesses in their efforts, leading to failures in developing Superhuman Species.
In a certain area of BJ (Beijing), new research projects had already begun. Han Shaoyu's spy—Xiao Qiang—whom he encountered on a train was there to seek out humanity's newly developed Superhuman Species project.
Humanity's cutting-edge weapons emerged endlessly and posed significant threats—not only leaving Earth riddled with scars but also indirectly instilling fear in star system beings. This was why the Blue Star People feared Earthlings. Not just them but many unknown beings from other star systems also feared those on Earth who continuously produced advanced weaponry.
Suddenly feeling restless as he distanced himself from his stronghold, Han Shaoyu worried about Lin Yu and others left behind.
"Look..." Luca exclaimed.
Wen Kai, standing close to Han Shaoyu, spotted a thick plume of smoke rising in the distance. "It seems some humans are in trouble."
Han Shaoyu cracked the whip, urging his companions to rush toward the billowing smoke. In the vicinity of the Vampire Family, a few humans still relied on his protection. These homeless individuals depended on the Vampire Family for safety and periodically brought him essential supplies.
As Han Shaoyu eliminated Beast Werewolves outside the Ant Nest, he took the opportunity to expand the Wolfman Slave population within. To do so, he needed human resources, which meant that those deranged Miner Masters sent elderly and incapacitated humans to him for mutation into werewolves.
This area also fell under Han Shaoyu's protection. If the suppliers were attacked by werewolves, he would inevitably suffer substantial losses.
His task was clear: he had to eliminate the Beast Werewolves that attacked the suppliers and any humans who had been bitten but had not yet mutated.
Knowing he was about to face a bloody and terrifying scene, Han Shaoyu reminded Wen Kai and the others to incinerate all bitten humans with open flames as they rushed forward.
Outside, snow and rain fell in a chaotic mix, while another event unfolded in the Ant Nest.
Lin Yu was intrigued by a particular building. Cold Star mentioned that it was large and housed many slaves working inside. However, without Han Shaoyu's permission, they could not enter freely.
Seeing Cold Star's emotions stabilize eased Lin Yu's mind somewhat. Han Shaoyu's team was out hunting Beast Werewolves and should return to the Ant Nest by early morning the next day.
The temperature dropped; it seemed snow was falling outside. After settling Cold Star, Lin Yu went to find Li Hang.
"Do you want to go into that building?"
"Yes."
Li Hang glanced around and nodded subtly. "Follow me."
Lin Yu trailed behind him but did not enter through the front door. Instead, they took a detour into a dark tunnel, crawling toward the top of the building.
Li Hang used his special fingers to carve out a small hole just big enough for one eye to peek through. Through this limited view, Lin Yu could see several people manufacturing weapons inside.
The scene resembled a small arms factory. The size of the hole was indeed sufficient, making Lin Yu feel both astonished and fearful. Li Hang tilted his head again. "Let's go check out another interesting place."
The other place he referred to was a laboratory-like cave. Inside was a shriveled old man who appeared gaunt and sluggish, busy with his work.
The Shrived Old Man had his back turned to Lin Yu and Li Hang but could be seen surrounded by microscopes, reagent vessels, and other experimental equipment on the cave platform.
"He is..."
"Shh!" Li Hang interrupted her, pulling her away from the room. They moved to a quieter area where no slaves or members of the Vampire Family were present.
"Who is he?" Lin Yu felt that the figure looked familiar, but he couldn't be sure it was him.
" Professor R."
Lin Yu sighed, thinking to himself: It really is him. He had just seen Professor R pick up a glass specimen and examine it under the microscope, using a converter to check something.
"What is he researching?"
"Silver Bullet." Li Hang wrinkled his nose and lowered his voice, "They are looking for a weapon that can kill with a single strike."
"Is there such a weapon?" Lin Yu asked, already knowing the answer. He vaguely remembered something called Silver Nitrate from long ago.
Li Hang grinned, "Not really sure."
