Jin Bing found himself in a precarious situation, having bitten off more than he could chew. He had taken control of too much territory, leaving him unable to manage many areas effectively. Blinded by immediate gains, he had lost sight of the deeper wisdom he once possessed.
It wasn't until he fully took over all the territory that once belonged to Liquid Snake that he realized the depth of his predicament. By then, it was too late; this was a trap, a conspiracy he was forced to step into.
He sighed deeply, thinking that if this was indeed part of Liquid Snake's scheme, then that man was far more terrifying than he had imagined.
Regardless, he was now in too deep to turn back; there was only one path forward.
In just half a month, tensions flared. The forces that had been oppressed by Shasha began to rise up, emboldened by desperation. They were outlaws; what did they care about anything else? Compared to Shasha's ruthless methods, Jin Bing's approach had always been more lenient, which only gave them more courage to fight for territory and business resources.
The underground forces in America were in complete disarray, with many cities facing urgent security crises.
In such circumstances, aside from boosting the reputation of those so-called heroes, nothing else seemed to matter.
Shasha played a particularly unsavory role in all this. Disguised as an arms dealer, he secretly sold large quantities of weapons, causing the smell of gunpowder to linger in New York City. He profited handsomely from this venture.
Originally, Shasha intended to involve Tony in these dealings, but that guy had mysteriously disappeared, making things difficult for him. So he decided not to bring it up.
This conflict continued for an entire month. The government grew dissatisfied with Jin Bing's inability to suppress the chaos and resorted to heavy-handed tactics, punishing both sides equally. Gradually, tensions began to ease.
Although things seemed to have stabilized on the surface, everyone knew it was merely temporary.
As national security deteriorated, the public's demand for heroes grew stronger than ever. Shasha inadvertently aided them while also provoking various individuals with a sense of justice to emerge.
Most of these new heroes were relatively unknown figures.
At this point, one couldn't overlook S.H.I.E.L.D., which stood to gain the most from the situation. With so many potential recruits appearing, Nick Fury took it upon himself to bring them into S.H.I.E.L.D., strengthening the organization significantly.
If there were such a thing as honorary banners for good deeds, Nick might have been tempted to present a few to Liquid Snake.
Meanwhile, on the mutant front, the Brotherhood had been leaderless since Magneto's capture. As a result, many members began to leave, leaving only a handful of core members and Magneto's die-hard loyalists struggling to hold things together.
If the Warriors benefited, it was not entirely without consequence, especially with the Mutant Registration Act and the proposals made public in Congress.
Charles felt a deep sense of worry; humanity's unknowns and fears regarding mutants had finally been stirred.
Amid such significant events, several incidents intertwined, such as Banner successfully escaping from the U.S. Military Base with Betty Ross, which infuriated General Ross, who dispatched his subordinates to hunt them down.
In Las Vegas, the young man who attempted to wield a hammer was also released.
To ordinary people, this might seem like a good thing, but Shasha knew that Thor was about to return.
Of course, he didn't need to concern himself with that matter right now, as something else had caught his attention.
Looking at Susan, who appeared quite embarrassed, Shasha couldn't help but chuckle. "So, do you think I should refuse?"
"Actually, this could be a good thing for our company, couldn't it?" Susan attempted to argue. "The military industry has always involved various developments, but aviation has never received much attention. This time presents an opportunity for us—not only to collect data on cosmic energy but also to explore the feasibility of aviation."
Hearing Susan's words, if the name of the person presenting the proposal hadn't been Reed Richards, Shasha would have almost believed she was genuinely thinking about the company’s interests. However, it was also possible that she truly hoped for mutual benefit.
"I noticed in the materials that this Dr. Reed Richards seems to be your alumnus from Columbia University?" Shasha said playfully as he looked at his capable assistant.
Susan's heart skipped a beat. Suppressing her inner turmoil, she replied calmly, "Yes, we were once classmates. In fact, we even had a romantic relationship, but that's all in the past."
After observing her for a while and noticing her slight panic, Shasha finally smiled. "Prepare the project proposal and see if there are any companies we can collaborate with; after all, we don't have ready-made equipment in aviation."
Suppressing her inner joy, Susan quickly nodded. "I will do that, sir."
Watching his assistant walk away with a noticeably lighter step made Shasha chuckle. He then turned his attention back to the materials: Reed Richards, Ben Grimm—just one Johnny Storm short—and with Susan just leaving the room, the Fantastic Four were coming together. It seemed some people were destined for their future fates!
But what about Doctor Doom? What about Victor Doom? Would he still be like he was portrayed in the movies?
Long ago, Shasha realized that this was a Marvel Universe primarily centered around movies, with comics serving as a supplementary medium.
The relationships between the main characters in the films shaped the extensions in the comics, revealing that many aspects were not as depicted in the comics; the destinies of many individuals diverged significantly.
For instance, in the movies, Natasha has no boyfriend, yet later she becomes romantically involved with several superheroes.
In contrast, in the comics, Natasha resembles a collector, constantly 'hunting' male superheroes.
One cannot view any character through a conventional lens; this is the conclusion Shasha reached.
So, is Victor Doom still that alumnus with whom they have a history? Or has he always been ruling his territory as a local tyrant in Latveria?
Far away in the palace of Latveria, a figure wearing an iron mask sneezed violently while conducting experiments.
